I guess everyone has different orders...I can't drink 30 minutes before the meal and 1 hour after a meal...this works fine for me...

Congratulations...on both...the move and the decision to do the self pay for lap band....I too, am a self pay...I was banded on 4/6/07 and will have the first fill on 5/17/07...I have already lost 24 lbs...It is the best thing I have ever done for myself.... Yes, I had my band put on 4/6/07 and found out I had a hiatel hernia...the doctor repaired while doing the lapband...

Start over....make up your mind that you are starting fresh with this new fill....eat what you are supposed to eat and exercise like you are supposed to....and if possible , go to the support meetings...do you have any in your area? Don' t look back....just look forward....start over again and make it work for you....Get excited about the weight coming off....remember how you felt when you first got your band?

Lauren, Go back to the basics...remember why you did this to begin with....get your mind set around you goal and get back to it...you know what you are doing that is causing you to be defeated....get your mind made up that you are going to get back on track....and you will be able to do this....hang in there...don't give up....

Hello Stacie, I am Diann...I was banded on 4/6/07....I am now on puree foods...not to bad....I have lost 23 lbs..and I will have my first fill 5/17/07...I watch the cooking shows...does not bother me to see all that food...of course there are times that I feel really hungry...I even thought of liver and onions...and I never eat liver ....

Hi, Good luck with your banding...you will be fine...I was banded on 4/6/07 and I went to surgery center at 6:30- taken to surgery around 9:00...was at home by 11:30....no problems...

I was banded on 4/6/07 and have lost 23 lbs....I have not weighed in a couple of days...I will not weigh every day...I don't want to make myself crazy with the numbers...I just stick to the plan and hopefully it will continue to come off....I get my first fill on 5/17/07

I agree with all the other post....just take liquid gas-x ...and yes, walk, walk, walk,....it will go away....

I lost 14 lbs during the liquid diet pre-op....

I had mine done on Friday and I could have gone back to work on Tues. or Wed...I know some that went back on Mon...I just wasn't able...I also had a hernia repaired...maybe that added to my unability to move as well as others... I had my band put on 4/6/07....and I am so glad I did...I would do it again, tomorrow....I have lost 23 lbs....best thing I have ever done for myself... The only exercise I am doing, is walking....about 1 mile....

I paid cash and they didn't require pysch test...I guess they don't care what your mental state is if you can pay cash for it..lol......no really...I guess they just don't have to have the same standards when there is no insurance company to deal with...

I took phenergan when I got home from surgery center, and never had one minutes problem with nausea....they gave me phenergan when I got to the surgery center and I even had to drink an alka-seltzer, right before the surgery...Slept right thru the surgery and woke up really fast...no problem...there was a lot of gas in the chest area...that bothered me more than anything...took liquid gas-x and it went away...walking around is the best thing you can do......

I was on two weeks liquid... 3 or 4 for slim fast(optima)first 3 days..., sf jello, crystal light, sf tea(decaf), coffee,(decaf) diet drinks...and after the 3 rd day, a small green salad with ff dressing...but.....you have to give up one slim fast for the green salad...

Hi Kathy, I was banded on 4/6/2007...I did the pre-op liquid diet...it was three or four slim fast(optima) for the first 3 days...the fourth day you can eat a small green salad with only root veggies...and fat free dressing...you have to lose one slim fast for the salad(so only 3 slim fast a day)......also, you can have sugar free jello and diet drinks.......crystal light....and sugar free tea....I really and truly did not have any problems with this....you fill full enough...the slim fast optima, really does curb your appetite...I have lost 23 lbs since the surgery....of course after the sugery, you are on another two weeks of liquid...but....after the surgery, it is much easier to not want to eat...you feel pretty full...I will have my first fill on May 17, 2007.....I have had no problems...and I really am so glad I had this done...:clap2: :nervous
