Sallen, I think we all consider the risk....I knew that I had to take the chance that this would work...and so far, so good...I was banded in 4/07 and I have lost 37 lbs...just got my second fill.... Sounds like you have a full plate...three children and a husband that is not there for you...Just do what you need to do ....You might just find that the band is your life preserver...good luck...I hope you come back and post with us....there are some great people at this site ...

Ninajo, No, I have not had this problem....are you taking really small bites, and chewing really well? If so, I would call my doctor and tell them what is going on....sorry to hear you are having these problems

I am so glad that you got a good fill....I know you must be so relieved to know that it is not you ,that was causing you not to have restriction....now you can start to enjoy the band .... I had my second fill today, and so far I am feeling fine...I am also on the liquids for 24 hrs, then mushies, then solid....

You are so right...I have noticed that everything we did for entertainment was with food....we would go out to eat, if we had nothing to do, go out to eat, to be with family and friends, go out to eat...That was the center of everything....even in our church....bring food .....

I am married to my best friend...He is the love of my life....

I did not have a catherter....I don't know why use it and some don't, but I did not have to have one...

I went to chat, but I could see where others had posted...go back to chat...

Congrats on your surgery date...that is great....Don't worry about the size of the band, the doctor will choose the one that is right for you...You just get ready to start a new journey....How exciting...I hope all goes well for you....

Linda, Don't feel guilty for spending money that will help you to live a more healthy life style...You will be so glad that you did....

Clair, The pain is not that bad...you will have some discomfort, but really it is not bad.....it will be so worth it.....congrats on your decision...I wish you well....

Just take your pain meds and you should be okay....don't worry about what pain is what....just stick to your post-op diet and take your meds...you should be fine...

Robin, Did you feel any restriction with any of your fills? If so, I wouldn't think that you have damaged your band...the only thing I think you could do by overeating is stretch out your pouch....I don't know...maybe after your next fill you will feel restriction....I go for my second fill on Monday...the first one I couldn't really tell any difference, hoping this one will give me some restrictions...

Linda, I am from Texarkana, Texas....I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 37 lbs....it has been the most wonderful thing I have ever done for myself...I would do it again tomorrow....I was a self-pay....$15,000.00 ...worth every penny....
