Who Wants Some Chips?
With all of my stresses today regarding our move, I had myself a few (literally only a few) bites of ice cream. I guess just a few tastes was all I really needed. So I'm taking that out of my siggy.

Having Another Bad Day, Please Help!
Big hugs going out to you Jodie! I don't have any wonderfully lofty words of wisdom, but I want you to know that I care and am here. I had an odd time of it during my teenage years, and I hate to see anyone else be in that same place. Just try to look at it as.....you have 2 more years as a teenager (until you turn 20), so that's quite a while to make the most of being a teenager. I have faith in you and know that you will do wonderfully!!! And psssst....guess what? It gets even better during your 20's!!! You have SO much to look forward to!!! Bless you!

Wanting to get pregnant
My surgeon said I could start trying as soon as I was healed from surgery if I wanted to. LOL But she said that if I wanted to lose some weight beforehand, that a one year goal was a good one to shoot for. Best of luck to you, and congratulations on your spectacular weightloss!!!

Calgon - take me away!!
I'm laughing because I can totally relate to the driving and not knowing where I'm going thing. But I'm crying because I've never had a fill and can still eat that whole freeking cheeseburger.

Can you handle some good news?!
What a wonderful and positive outlook you have! Isn't it amazing what focusing on the things we have to be grateful for will do for us?!?! It's something that has brought my spirits up many times myself. Keep up the great work and positive attitude and I'm sure you'll have your new port in no time!

The amount of food some can & can't eat baffles me.
I agree with Alex. Even though I've never had a fill, I used to be able to eat scrambled eggs like they were going out of style. Now I have to be EXTREMELY careful when eating them, as well as crackers too. I have to take very small bites and chew it very well before swallowing. I've actually slimed once and had a few mild PBs too. Although they were quite a while ago, I have NOT forgotten!!! I'm sure once I get that first fill it'll change for me again too. And everyone's bodies are so different that some can eat one thing with no problem, and another can't. And I suppose it's the same way quantity wise as well.

Dealing with comments like....
Everyone else has great advice. I do the same. I'll just simply say, "Yes, I can eat that, just not as much as before, and not as often as I probably would've before." And if they ask questions, I'm happy to answer. I agree with everyone else, sometimes people are just not as well informed about the band as they are the bypass.

Happy Birthday Alex !! (Mr. Lapband)
Happy Birthday to our "father" of LapBand Talk! I hope you have a super one!

Lane Bryant...
I used to shop LB when I worked and could afford it. Now I will on rare occassions use a coupon they've sent me to buy a pair of jeans for $15 off. That way they only cost me $15 to $20, which is my limit for what I'll pay for a pair of jeans. I LOVE the clothes on the Torrid web site, and if I had more cash flow, I'd buy from there in heartbeat! I didn't even know that Old Navy offered extended sizes online, and I'm going to check it out right now! Not like I can afford new clothes for now, but at least I'll know where to go in the future! Thanks for the suggestions ladies!

What is the point of it all???
*Religious Content Ahead - If This Bothers You, Please Stop Reading Now* I wasn't going to post on this at all, as I know that religion bothers some people. But the more I thought about it, I'd be a fool not to tell you this, as it is the truth. I believe what the word says. God created us in His image to worship Him. He didn't do it only for His pleasure, but for ours as well. He knew that if we would worship and adore Him, we WOULD live a life filled with joy, peace, and fullness. Am I saying that my life is all sunshine and roses? No way! But when I am willing to run to Him out of my own desperation and just ask Him to fill me with His love and to hold me in the palm of His hand, He does. I know that there have been so many times during my life that I've felt like I was at the end of my rope. I had tried the world's ways to help myself, and nothing was working. Out of sheer desperation I turned to Him and He lifted my spirit and wiped the dirt off of me and allowed me start all over again. He is truly the God of 2nd chances, and more 2nd chances, etc.. I know that this is no sugar coated answer, but in all of my 30 years of existence, it is truly the ONLY thing that has ever brought me ANY peace and ANY purpose. I am here if you need me. ~Kelly

didn't to well tonight)-:
Aw. Sorry to hear you're down about it. You could've jumped right in during chat and we would've encouraged you then too. *smile* I know we were really chatting away, and sorry if we scared you away. Keep your head up. Sometimes it's not easy to pass things up. Are you on your pre-op diet? If so, just try harder tomorrow. I know my pre-op diet was hard to stick to too. Good luck to you!
-
did it grow on ya, or always fat?
Always a fatty here too. I remember being chubby, even at age 4.

anyone wanna chat ?
Likewise NJ! I really enjoyed myself, and am sorry that I had to leave so abruptly. Hubby, son, and I all took a trip to Walmart fantasizing about what we'll fill our new house with. LOL

Changes...
I have often wondered the same thing. I have never in my teenage/adult life been a "normal" size. I was a size 24 in the 8th grade, and then a 22 when I graduated, and a 20 in college. I eventually worked my way up to a size 30, and am now stuck between a 26 and 28. I often times wonder how my life would change should I even get back down to even a size 20 again. (I have huge bones and am mid height, so I look hot at a size 20 and 200 pounds!) I have already promised myself that I refuse to "sell myself out" or sell myself short by befriending those post weight, who don't seem to find me "fit" enough to be their friend now. I say Poo Poo to them and I don't want any shallow/lame friends anyway! The ones that I have now love me for who and what I am, and those are the ones that I'll stick with afterwards too, thank you very much! I wish you all of the luck in the world. This race/game can sometimes feel so cruel, and we all really need each other to make our ways through it to the end!
