Took my MIL some clothes, new socks, and new shoes that I bought her at Wal-Mart yesterday, then went to my sister's and drank coffee, sat on her deck, helped her hang some decorations, dropped off her comforter I washed at my house and a tupperware container she left, brought home the Mum she bought me and the plant stand she had to go with it, and a bottle of Tiki Torch Fuel since we ran out and I forgot to get it when I went to Wal-Mart.

33. How long have you been at your current job? Quit work after baby #1, went back like a fool when she was 2, quit again, then had baby #2 and have been a stay-at-home mom ever since. So if you excuse the brain fart that made me go back to work that year, I have been at home with my kids for 6 years.

25. When was the last time you cried? When the seemingly healthy wife of one of our heart failure patients, had a stroke after finding out her long sick husband wasn't going home this time.

Later that night we put her in the same room with him, pushed their beds together, and while I was assessing her, looked up to see him holding her hand, and gazing at her with an expression of such despair, and tears welled in his eyes.

I had to leave the room. Every one on duty that night cried for them. She passed away in the morning, 6 hours into their 65th anniversary, (he died 2 days later).
