  1. Thanks everyone! It does help. Hunger that is satiated with very little food sounds fine with me. My problem will be trying to get the right foods before the sugar sirens call to me. That has always been my demon. I appreciate all of the answers. :*
  2. I have seen several new sleevers saying how hungry they feel. I thought one of the benefits of the sleeve was that it cut out part of the stomach that helped produce ghrelin(sp?). So, are y'all saying that you are still as hungry as usual but unable to satisfy that hunger?
  3. What about...what are the first few days going to be like?
  4. Best wishes. Keep us posted!
  5. Hey Susie, I can totally relate to your feelings. I am being guardedly hopeful. My surgery is in 4 days, and it feels as if it is looming. Best wishes and prayers to you. Please let us hear from you as soon as you are able!
  6. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! We will be waiting to hear how great you are very soon! All good wishes your way.
  7. Thanks y'all. Maybe I will call today and find out! As the days draw nearer, the nights get shorter from missing sleep. Worry, worry. I appreciate the responses- a little foreknowledge is helpful.
  8. O my goodness. So some people go home with a drain, and some people never have one? Guess I should have been more thorough in my questions to doc. Thanks, y'all for the responses.
  9. K, for those in the know...what about the drainage tube? Can you tell me about it? The video I just saw said it is in your chest cavity and it's really long and stays there until you are ready to leave the hospital. She said it is very painful and even more so when they take it out. Now I'm even more worried. Great.
  10. Hey destined, I am one day before you. Best wishes to you!
  11. Hey Mimi, I would love to have a sleeve cousin! I know what you mean about realities. Every time I go to the city where I grew up, I feel like I am hiding from anyone who knew me, or making excuses for not going somewhere I might be recognized, and the "gosh, she has changed!" look comes over their faces. I am tired of feeling disappointed in myself. Hopefully, things will be brighter soon! Best to you, and keep in touch.
  12. I am really getting scared too. I don't seem to be able to sleep past 3:30am anymore I think that it makes it doubly hard for me to not be in my home country, but that is where i am, so I need to suck it up I suppose. God-willing, this will be behind us soon and all will be good!
  13. Hey. I am one week away too! I am so ready but so nervous too.
  14. Wow Meredith! Great job. You look fantastic.
  15. That's amazing. Great job! You must feel so good about your tremendous success. Best wishes to you for continued good fortune.
  16. Hi Mimi, Such an excellent introduction. I feel as if I know you, and truth be told, maybe there is something of me in your writing. Heck, I believe Thoreau, so many of us are living quietly desperate lives in our own ways. I hope everything works out for you and the surgery. I am to be going next week. Best wishes and welcome!
  17. Slow and steady. Hopefully it will be better soon. Keep us posted. Best wishes to you!
  18. Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. We are all waiting in the wings and looking forward to an update from you!
  19. I am April 1st. April Fool's Day. I hope not.
  20. Hey Atkinsoncl, Thank you. I got it and joined!
  21. Yes, and hopefully he won't miss it. We are here in Kuwait and its his family, so I don't really feel like telling them all my business.
  22. Hello all, I am 47 and have an April 1st date. I am really getting nervous and also feeling my weight more and more each day. It makes me hopeful though that maybe this will really be my turning point.
  23. Hey SkinnyMom, thanks. Hopefully he will be back the day before, but you never know with air travel and international at that. I really hadn't wanted to tell any of the other family members here, so we'll see. It may come down to a friend from work if I am desperate. I would just hate to be a baby around anyone else.
  24. Ok, waiting for a forum then. Until then, just found out my husband may not be here for my surgery date on the 1st. Yikes! Can I do it alone?
  25. Thank Miss Pea, I am glad to hear that. I hope to God it doesn't happen, but I guess we all just have to be vigilant.
