  1. That's why I don't have one anymore. Don't want to live with any jerks!!!
  2. Serenity, My prayers are with you right now. Yes, it is a sour day. I hope something good comes from all the research and phone calls you are making. Please keep us posted. I'm supposed to hear from the sleep study doctor today. It is almost 4:00pm and have heard nothing. Waiting.
  3. Haven't heard of Center of Excellence. What is it?
  4. I have UHC Choice Plus too. I thinly it may depend on which program my company bought into. I'm already preparing for the worst. Currently I'm 191 lbs and a little under 5 ft. Sleep apnea is my only hope. Praying for you & me.
  5. I'm in the same boat. I'm also anticipating getting denied i did a sleep study last week & waiting on results. If i don't have sleep apnea, there will be no approval. Do you have any co-morbidities? If you have apnea, diabetes, and a host of other things, they will probably approve.
  6. Loved your letter and your family will too. You are very brave to embark this procedure to gain control of your life. You are most certainly doing the right thing. You are in my prayers for a safe and speedy recovery!
  7. I've been working with my case worker at doctor's office. Originally told UHC had no requirements. After getting blood tests &stress test, I was told UHC required a sleep study and psychologist session. I've had both of them. Now waiting on results to give to UHC. If I don't have sleep apnea, insurance won't cover me and I'll be screwed.

Tmoss, I'm praying for you. I hope this goes away or gets better for you!
  9. I don't mind you asking what I weigh. I weigh 191 and am just under 5 feet. I get the feeling my sleep study may not have been that helpful. The tech didn't need to put the CPap on me--is that a sign for no sleep Apnea?? The psychologist I went to today says she will definitely recommend the surgery. I have a sinking feeling today that the insurance company will deny me. Really the truth is: I'm not overweight, I'm just not tall enough. LOL!!

  11. Me too. Waiting. Just did sleep study last night. Not sure of the results but if I don't have sleep apnea my ins. Company will not pay. I'm 37 BMI and no co-morbities. I'm praying it will go thru.
  12. Wishing you the best, Lita!
  13. Njs--thinking about you today and praying for you!! Wishing you a fast and uncomplicated surgery. Be sur to post updates when you can.
  14. I need to contact her tomorrow about Dr M's appt w/ me. Insurance wants me to get sleep study and pshyc exam.
  15. Wishing you the best tomorrow and a speedy recovery. Please give us an update as soon as you are able.
  16. Good luck and God speed. Post your recovery when you can.
  17. Bombshelly Wishing you get off the nausea stage also. Pls keep posting your progress. P.s. are you taking anything for the nausea?
  18. Butterfly! When you go to meetup.com, type in WLS in Houston, TX. The group is listed as Houston Area WLS Active Buddies. I don't think anything is scheduled yet but I'm trying to put information out there to see if there are any joiners. What area are you in? I can't get together this coming weekend but hoped we could shoot for Saturday, April 21--- at a local Tea House----conducive for conversation.
  19. Pevette, there is a neat Tea House located between Shepherd & Dunlavy off Westheimer (called Te House of Tea). It is generally a quiet place for lunch and conversation--good for a group. We should put the idea out to the group to find out if there are any takers. What do you think???
  20. Carolina, Thank you for sharing your story. What were your symptoms for the blood clot? How soon afterwards did you have the blood clot--while still in the hospital? Wishing you continued success!!
  21. HEB is a large grocery store chain which originated in TX. I wonder if they are the same protein jello packs. On my way to GNC to check it out.
  22. You've started a good thread. Happy losing to you! So sad others are judgmental. Glad you feel like a million bucks!!! :-)
