A word on pop (soda for some)
That was me over a year ago. I was addicted to pepsi. sometimes i was only drinking soda and not eating. I quit in october 2011. I was able to do it so knew i was ready to have the surgery. I was sleeved in march and these were the 2 best decisions of my life. good luck with your surgery it will be the best thing ever.

Finally Losing Again 219 This Am!
I completely understand. I have been stuck at 219 for over a month. I have tried breaking the stall but not much luck. I also want to be 190-200 by january. just keep up the work outs and monitor your intake. make sure your protien and fluid intake is up. good luck.

That Hair Should Be One My Head...not In The Drain
unfortunatly it is normal with surgery and biotin does help some. hair loss seams worse for some ppl than others. mine was already thin and at 4 mnths started falling out. I am not happy. just keeping it curled so it looks fuller.

Alcohol.....
my co-worker had a few drinks the other night and said that she was buzzed almost immediatly but did not last long. I have heard the same from friends that had RNY. I am afraid to try anything with acid reflux problems.

How Long Did Everyone Wait To Go Back To Work
acampbell16... can your job leagally prevent you from using sick time for the surgery??? you need to check on that. it should not matter what kind of surgery it is. also fill out the disablility papers. The one good thing about Dr. Aceves was that he left it up to us when we felt comfortable going back to work. Most that i know took a month off and one person took 3 months and he covered it. Also when I spoke to my HR dept and told them i was having surgery they handed me the disability papers and told me to let them know what days they needed to put as my sick days no questions asked. even if your doctor doesnt think more than 5 days is needed your hr dept should be more supportive. BTW I was private pay and did not use my insurance but did use my UNUM which was great.

Last Lane Bryant Purchase!
I was able to walk in to target and jc penny in the last couple weeks and buy off the rack and the clothes fit. I almost cried. they were xl/16 which I have not seen since jr. high. I will keep the LB card until I can convince my sister to have surgery also. of course I did buy some cute clearance leopard print skinny jeans from LB today but in size 14... need something to loose into:).

Slight Food Brag
you r lucky, not been able to eat any beef and I am 5 months postop. everything else is fine except that so i should be happy, but a great steak or carne asada burrito keeps calling and makes me sick after 1 bite:(.

Follow Up After Mexico
I did the follow ups with my pcp but he is great and when I first mentioned surgery he wanted to know when it was. He has been totally supportive of me and a couple others I know. It really all depends on your PCP. I have heard horror stories from others who had no support from theirs and had to find someone new. definitly talk to your PCP first just to gauge how things will go. you need all the support you can get. As for the insurance I have not had to use it except for bp meds so I have yet to find out. and yes I do take meds its just now post-op they actually work while pre-op they did not touch my blood pressure.

Almost 1 Year Need Help!

Cost Of Vsg In Mexico
I am another Dr. Aceves patient. I paid $8750 in march. I picked him because he had performed the sleeve on 4 of my co-workers with great success. It was the best decision. No pain ever, only some nausea the first 2 days. He only does 3 surgeries a day and is constantly checking on you through out the stay. Do not regret a thing.
