1. Had my surgery yesterday at 9am (Aug. 15). Feeling pretty good so far. I drank an 8 oz protein shake it took a while, but I finished it. My Dr. said I could go straight to full liquids. I still plan to be very careful. It feels like I have to burp all of the time. I fear I will not be able to get in all of the food they want me to eat, I feel full. I lost 8 Lbs. on the pre-op diet and the Dr. said my liver looked fine. He even gave me a picture of my liver and the band. Probably too much information for most people. Well I need to rest hope everyone is doing well. JP
2. Thanks so much for the helpful hints. I am getting nervous. How long did it take you to loose the 29 Lbs.? I can hardly wait to start my new life. Thanks again, JP
3. Thanks I found some whey powder and it is much better. Tomorrow is the big day! JP
4. I am getting very nervous my surgery is in three days (Aug. 15). :whoo: I have lost 4 lbs. on the pre-op diet, but cheated a little. I have all of the things I need for the first week I hope. My husband talked me into having a drink last night and it made my stomach upset. Must have been my guilt concience.:embarassed: I have been walking a mile a day and swimming. Although swimming is hard now due to having surgery on my left hand thursday. Any worda of wisdom at this point would be great. JP
5. Thanks everyone. My pre-op diet is not so bad. I have to drink to Protein shakes a day and one lean meal (chicken, fish and non starchy veggies). I have been making my own shakes with Protein powder and fruit. They are not to bad. They also said I can have a half cup of cottage cheese or low fat cheese stick. I miss the sugar real bad. I only have 8 days to go!:clap2: See you later, JP
6. Don't forget SF popsicles.
7. :help: I am on the pre-op diet and the carnation instant Breakfast is giving me bad gas and an upset stomach. Can someone suggest something else. I also have Protein powder I used this morning in a smoothie. I hope that is allright. It has way more protein than carnation. Can I totally give up on the instant shakes and make my own low fat, low sugar, low carb shakes? JP
8. Congradulations!!! My date is Aug. 15 I just starte the pre-op diet today. Not to bad so far. Two carnation shakes a day and one low fat low sugar meal. Good luck to you. JP
9. :)Thanks everyone. I meet with the dietician tomorrow. I went to the store and got sugar free Jello, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, no sugar added apple sauce and oatmeal. Surely that will get me started until I can go back to the store on Friday. Thanks again, JP
10. :help: My appt. with the dietician is Thursday Aug. 2. I am to start my two week pre-op diet Friday Aug. 3 which will actually only be 12 days since my surgery is Aug. 15. The only thing the nurse would tell me was it would be full liquids. The problem is I live 1 1/2 hours away from the dietician's office and will have to rush to the store Thursday evening when I get home from seeing her. Can anyone get me started on what to have on hand? I realize I am panicing, but just can't help it, Thanks, JP
11. I had all of my pre-op testing yesterday and now have the official green light. :clap2: I meet with the dietician on Thursday (Aug. 2) to find out what my pre-op diet will be. I am scared and excited at the same time. I want this to work so bad, but fear failing again. I wish there was a group closer to my home. So far I have to drive 80 miles to the closest one. Thank goodness for all of you! I will let you all know what the dietician says. Banding date is Aug. 15:whoo: JP
12. Hi Michee, I had all of my pre-op testing yesterday (July 30). I meet with the dietician on thursday to find out about the pre-op diet. It must not last too long, because my surgery is Aug. 15. I am getting worried. JP
13. Hi my name is jpayton. I will be banded Aug. 15 in Indianapolis, IN
14. Hi Jean, Congratulations! My date is Aug. 15 and I understand how excited you are. Let us know about your progress. JP:clap2:
15. Well I told her about the hand surgery and all went pretty well. HR is concerned I will not be fit to come back to work on Aug. 27, my hand surgery is Aug. 9 and lap band Aug. 15. I think I will be fine just adjusting to my new diet and only having one hand for a couple weeks. The hand Dr. said I can type and lift up to 5 lb. I will just have to learn how to live with the every day torture of my boss. She is not the only one like that here, most of the women are cruel. Some day they will all have a big suprise when my skinny butt walks out the door! Thanks again for all of your support. JP
16. Faith, I agree with TexasBecky you always have good information. I enjoy and learn from your posts. Thanks, JP
17.
Michee,

Looks like we are in this together. I am starting to get very nervous. I do the pre-op testing Aug. 30. Hope to talk to you soon.

JP

18.
Holly,

Welcome I am rather new too. I have been posting for about 3 months. My surgery date is Aug. 15. I am starting to get nervous, but know I will never loose the weight without the help of lap band. To my understanding lap band is a serious life style change. If you do not eat properly you will regain the weight. Good luck on what ever you decide. The more seminar's and reading you do the better informed you will be. Keep posting.

JP

19. Sorry to hear about your set back, but this too shall pass. Keep your chin up you are on your way. JP
20. I have told a couple family members and select friends, but not anyone at work. I feel they would use it against me. I don't have time for their negativity. This is a very special time for all of us. Good luck to all.
21. Thanks Princess this will be very helpful. JP
22. Count me in my date is Aug. 15. I am even starting to feel a little crazy! The closer the date gets the more I eat junk. Some junk I would have never eaten before. What the hell is wrong with me. I would love to swap stories, give and receive support. JP
23. Me too! Congrats mine is in Indy where are you going?
24. Thanks to all of you I did it. I told her I needed time off for surgery. I do not plan to tell her or anyone else here. I am very excited! Talk to everyone later. JP
25. Thanks again to all of you. I hope I can repay everyone for their support some day with words of wisdome. JP
