May 2006 Band Crew
MiniMandy_ be careful with what you eat..while healing if you "try out" foods and your swelling isnt down it will catch up with you..you need to stay on liguids and soft mush for awhile..believe me its not easy but its neccessary...i ate potatoe soup one day thinking id be fine but within hours i was hurting. it irritates your stomach. and when i started more harder foods this week its still hard to do..i kinda had to start over lots of liquids and maybe one solid a day now..but my solid is like chili or mash potatoes that are watery..i live off of yogurt and protien drinks..I LVOE THE EQUATES from walmart! the chocolat rocks! or i blend a banana with the vanilla one! YUMMY! Take care and be careful!

Wow i just saw this thread ..duh dont know how i missed it LMAO:faint: ANy way I was banded in mexico on May 12,2006 my stats are all below. Ive been using www.fitday.com to track all my intake and exercise ect,, its an awesome site that is FREE!!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: And Very HELPFUL!! I found that once i went onto soft food i stopped loosing weight for a few days and gained a few lbs then all the sudden im loosing again! LOL Im finding also that ROOM TEMP drinks like water and crystal light help fill me up better! if i get hungry i drink alot of fluids. I am not eating much at all maybe 500-600 calories aday when im lucky lol but im getting in my protein drinks and i love cottage cheese so that helps too.and feels good going down!:hungry: Im also in the Gone For Good club on here and they have awesome challenges they do to keep ya motivated! and thats what i need! I started on tread mill two days ago , I havent been on one in YEARS! i am up to 7 minutes at a time 5 times a day. Sounds small but I have family who are trainers and said to start out small and build up and thats workign for me!:girl_hug: So lets keep this thread going and keep in touch for support!:clap2: Good luck to all! I Got Rebanded!!!!
Thanks guys! Jack:heres a copy of a post i did on the gone for good group thread that kinda explains my story..enjoy: i was banded by Dr J rod. I was Originally banded in july of 2004 I had no issues no pain no nothing,,,,nothing,,,,i lost 55 lbs the first month and started getting humgry so i went for my first fill on my one month mark..when doing the flouro it apeared that the band was not in its position correctly. I went to my primary care doc and he ordered an upper GI. In watching it we all saw as the barium would run right past my band...my band WAS NOT on my stomach but floating around. I called dr rod and he had me come to Mexico for and endoscope.and once i awoke i was told he was going to fix it. I awoke bandless.=0( he came in and initally saId i Eroded..(in one month???) but after all my investigations over the past year ive found MANY things that could have happened. I weighed 378 when he did the first one and i believe that either it either it was not fastened well and came off or was fastened around fatty tissue mistaking it for my stomach. Either way the band was not on me ..I HAD NO PAIN..(which with erosion I should have especially if it happened in one month AND by the pics from the endo scope i had NO DAMAGE..it would have been a ghost going through without damaging hahaha) and it was removed on september of 2004. He told me then to wait 6 months and we would reband me. I was devastated that this happened..i looked into everything i could to explain it. I have come to the conclusion that this was a mistake not negligence by any means. All doctors have a precentage of error rate..well i was part of the very small precentage of his. And I'm ok with it. I know of lots and lots of people who have been banded by dr j rod and they are doing great! My mother for one..she was banded a year before me. She went with me this past trip to have her port checked out and he gladly did it for her. So i went on may 12th 2006 and got rebanded by DR JROD! this time he used the larger band. I weighed 397 the day of banding. I had No issues with the procedure. The hospitol and staff were curtious and clean as always. Dr rod was very sure that I was comfortable and all was right when i left. Ensuring me that the procedure went well. I have been baned one week and have lost 15 lbs! I loss very fast right up front..guess cause of my size cause everyones different. Million dollar Question: Would i do this again? Answer: IN A HEARTBEAT! AND WITH DR J ROD!! He is a great doctor and was very helpful with all this whole saga! I spoke with him on and off the whole year i was waiting to redo it. SO im starting my journy all over! I am NOT doing this for pure cosmetic reasons..i just want to live alittle longer and enjoy all in life that i want to do. Smaller people tend to take for granit the things they can do..they can walk into any resturant, theater, sporting event, job place, doctors office, airplane and sit anywhere they want..they can ride roller coasters...they can buy clothes anywhere..drive any car they want..sit in a average bathtub...walk through a turnstyle..these are just a small grouping of things I TOO want to be able to do..am i complaining...not really...im just stating the facts and all heavy people i know will agree with me. So i guess you could say...Im Adapting..i want to enjoy life to the fullest with my family and friends and not have to worry about all of the issues that come with my size when going somewhere or the issues of health..and getting smaller and looking even hotter that i already do..well thats just the extra advantage that comes with it all! hahaha

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
WOWOWOW I soooo love this thread! lol:clap2: OK my run down: at banding i was 397 dont know what bmi was. I am 5'8 and now 2 weeks post op i am at 385 my goal is 180 but i have lots of little ones in between lol I cant even remember the 100's!!!! SO when i hit 199 ill prolly pass right out!:faint: haha im losing mine so i can "adapt" to society lol i am tired of having to miss out of things in life i want to do..tired of havign to worry about where i will sit when i go out..my health is ok FOR NOW but i have lots of illnesses in my family that i dont want my weight to help move them to me faster lol I am beautiful and always have been very self confident too much sometimes it drives my daughter nuts LOL but i need to be smaller to make sure i can full fill everything in life and stay healthy!:cake: Oh and BTW i have a digital scale that goes up to 440lbs! AND!!!! IT TALKS TO YOU! so i dont have to try and look over my belly and see weight! It will say "hello" when you touch it then "im ready" when its set for you to get on..then it will tell you your weight and when you step off it says "goodbye" lol my cats set it off alot! ANyway i got it off ebay for like 30 bucks! its called "MYWEIGH XL440" and it can read KG's for those who use that. Ive had it over 2 years and its awesome! it gives you like 387.6 in readings so you have exact weight not just the main number. Good luck everyone! Love christy:kiss2:
