well the old saying is "everyone is entitled to their own opinions" so i guess that applies to this thread. Most of you know the experience i had with my doctor but he made everything right. It was a MISTAKE...And ALLLLL doctors can make them no matter what part of the Globe they are from... ALL DOCTORS! Witht his band as with ANY surgical procedures there is a risk factor....SOMEONE HAS TO BE THAT RISK....I was one and i know there are others amongst us. Its easy when your angry to point the finger...but does it solve anything? No..might make you feel better for a second but that too passes... Good luck with your weight loss and i hope the tool (the band) you recieved to do this aids you.

Yes the rumor is true I GOT REBANDED!!!! WAHOOOOO:clap2: If anyone has questions on why i was unbanded PM me or find my ERODED post...FYI I still dont think i eroded..not in one month...but thats all in the past and now its all a new beginning! I went back to Dr.JRod in Mexico and he rebanded me on May 12,2006. I was pretty sore after and am gettting better daily! Movign around very well just tired as all get out! I think its from lack of nutrients..i started a multi Vitamin today that seems to help so far but i cant seem to get all i need in me.. Lots of water..Broths..jellos and am drinking a protien shake aday... Any suggestions? Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

Ok all i have an update!!!!! Dr Rodz has agreed to reband me! I will get back with you all with the dates. Everyone around me is worried about it and to be honest so am I BUT i cannot afford to do it here in the USA and he wants to make it right so i feel i should give him that chance. All surgeons have some error % i just happen to be part of his. LOL So keep your fingers crossed and thanks for all your help! Christy

Ok heres my info: Date Banded:...... July 23,2004 Country:...... Mexico Doctor:...... Dr J. rodriguez Erodoed: thats what i was told, that i eroded in one month. Date Removed September 24,2004 Reband date: TO BE ANNOUNCED!!

First of all..WOW!!! I was shocked by all the responses!:wow2: Thanks very much for your support! OK let me see if i can answer some of this all.. Don't get me wrong when i first found out that it was not on my stomach i was scared at first at the thought of erosion but was puzzled since it had only been exactly a month when i went for the fill. and had no pain at all from day one! Seriously NOTHING! So i called the doc in Mexico and explained to him what was going on and he asked if i would come down for the scope and see what we could find. We did the scope and I was told he was going to go in and fix it. I was grogy and was wisked straight to surgery. I awoke with my mother at my feet with a sad look on her face and was told that it had to be removed. I was devasted!:faint: He came in and explained to me how the band had worked its way from the back to the front and was resting on the outside of my stomach. went THROUGH AND THROUGH with no pain?? I was furious that he had taken it out. If I had known he was considering doing that i would have came home and gotten another opinion but wasnt given that chance.I have seen the scope video and there isnt even much redness let alone damage from somthing closed around my stomach working its way through. unless i healed up that fast..lol so..he told me to wait 6 months and he would do it again. But id have to pay for it.:faint: So I came home and started looking and searching for any other cases of this happening and found NOTHING. I called inamed and sent them copies of everything. They agreed that it didnt erode but hadnt been put on aound my stomach. I saw a doctor here in us right after the removal so he could examine me and make sure all was ok and he too saw the films and agreed..no way to erode and heal up that fast with NO PAIN. So..i gained back the weight i lost PLUS. And am waiting for a miracle. Thanks everyone for your replies and I truly think this was an accident but what can i do...its out of our country so im stuck. I did everything i was suppossed to to the T. And lost weight but im sure thats from the liquid diet i was on and the fact that i soooo wanted this to work that i wasnt about to mess it up.:Cry: well Im back at the drawing board LOL Ill make sure and check back and see what you all say! thanks again!!!:hug: Christy

OH and as for the films,,,you can see the band to the side as the liquid flows right past it. when i did the upper GI it was alot clearer and you could see the band alot clearer and watch as the barium flowed right around it.:think thanks again

hey yall, Sorry it took so long for me to come back and reply there has been alot going on this past year... I went and had the scopes,the upper gis and all and they all showed it was not closed around my stomach that it was in frount of my stomach closed but not closed around anything and had been rubbing up towards my lower esophogus. I got with Dr J Rodriquez and i had to go back to Mexico and he scoped again and removed it trying to tell me that i eroded in ONE MONTH..i had no erosion i saw the tape of the scope the band you can see clearly sitting on the outside of my stomach closed and pressing against my outer lining in a perfect circle. he removed it. I have no band now and no clue how i will pay for the next one but i will have it done here in usa. I think he may have attached it to fatty tissue and thought it was around my stomach, i dont know but it was definatly not around it. and the makers of the band and 2 other lapband doctors viewed the tape and said the same thing that they saw no erosion and that it apreared to have been closed but not around my stomach. I have NOTHING agains Dr ROD he has done tons of procedures with no issues this aparently was a fluke but it just happened to be me it happened to =0( My mom had him do hers back in 2003 and she hasnt had any issues. I would SOOO do this again but have no funds to do it so im dieting the hard way and HOPE for a mirical lottery winning to get the band or insurance to finnally step up and realize they should pay! Ok all Im new to your site but need all the help i can get! I went for my first fill on friday and watched as the barium passed right by my band!! they filled me completly up and we redid the baruim...again it ran right passed it as if my band was opened. The doc says he thinks its eroded but ive only had it one month..doc who did the surgery says its not eroded but has no clue why it did that...we are talking of doing a Endo scope this week.... Has anyone ever heard of the band being OPEN? I have pics of my xray attatched to this. Please any input you guys have will be apreciated!! Thanks! christy;)
