  1. WOW doesn't even do it justice. Holy Catnip Batman!!! You look so amazing. A different person has emerged and she looks like one happy lady!
  2. You're an idiot! hahah just teasing!!! LOL We love ya! Everyone has these worries pre op. I know I did, I thought all my labs would be a mess and I wouldn't be able to have it either. They were only 1/2 a mess and I still had the surgery.
  3. About 2 months ago Target had a sale on junior size jeans. They were 4 bucks a pair! How could I not get a pair for that cheap? Well I bought a size 11S junior size and of course they did NOT fit then. Hell, I couldn't even squeeze the fat in and close them! This morning for two weeks in a row I weighed in at 171lbs. Yayy me! (I know my flux's at this point, I'll lose a couple of pounds and stay there up and down about 2-3 lbs for a couple of weeks. Its ok, I accept that now!) I took them out of the bag looked, scrunched my nose, thought do I want to be disapointed if they don't fit?? Screw it, I tried them on....*happy, happy, happy dance, wiggle my ass around the room, smiling and and laughing and checking myself out in the mirror* They fit with NO MUFFIN TOP!!! I didn't think they would, they just looked so small to my eyes. Well let me just say nothing is going to wipe this stupid big grin from my face today Can you feel my giddiness??? I bet you can
  4. 2SB, I totally disagree!!!! You look absolutely amazing. Truly, and sorry, but I think you have to clean your mirror cause no way in hell do you look older!
  5. Congratulations!!! Job well done!
  6. My doc actually says that its a debate amongst a lot of doctors in the field but he says he counts it toward the total intake of fluids. He told me that in the stage where you are drinking your protein there really is only so much you CAN drink in a day with the sleeve. I was really worried because there wasn't a snow balls chance in hell I was going to get 60 grams of protein (4x 11 oz drinks) and 64 oz of other liquids in and believe me I tried up until I talked to him at my 2 week appointment.
  7. Yes take some pics!! haha Seriously, though, I would like to hear what hits you get for the spare tire. I have that and it is the last to deflate on me.
  8. That is great about the muscle vs. fat. I am on a huge project at work and have not been able to make it to my classes for about a month now and its killing me! I hate doing the bike and treadmill etc. My mind wanders and I get bored and when I'm bored I don't want to do it. Its me and and I know this about me, isn't that half the battle lol ? I do try to walk about 15-20 miles a week when I can't get to my classes.
  9. I absolutely LOVED your post. Between the self realization, honesty, frankness and drive you displayed I am sure you motivated many on this board. I am almost at goal and I feel bad for anything or anyone that gets in my way. It's a tough battle and we have the tool to win not only the battle but the freaking war!!! I'd say good luck on the rest of your journey, but dude you don't need it, you will get there, I have zero doubt. Congratulations on all your successes!
  10. I was on 2000mg a day for years and years pre op for my diabeties. This is now in remission, so not sure why they would prescribe it for weight loss, also if you are sleeved and eating correctly, I can't see how you would need it, but I am no MD. You may want to ask your doc some more in depth questions on the subject.
  11. *whacks the back of your head* Don't you even dare feel guilty about having a couple of drinks. This is why we did this so that we can live life like a normal person and be able to indulge once in a while. That being said, since you had tequilla did your clothes fall off??? hahahhaha hope I made you smile and you have a better day today.
  12. I mix it up a bit and maybe that is part of why I am a "slow loser" so to speak. I low carb it during the week no more than about 40 a day and on the weekend with my family, I don't count the carbs for the most part. That being said I like how I am losing now. I do try to work out at least 3 times a week and this is mostly on the weekends because of work so maybe that is why this system is working for me at the moment. I think everyones bodies are different and react to carbs and calories differently. I average between 1000 - 1200 calories a day and about 60-80 gr. protein, but I always felt from the beginning that I could eat more than most people I read about too.
  13. Lets just say Bart Simpson losing his head, a sombrero, tequilla and almost not being able to leave the country!
  14. I did that last week, we had a baby shower at work and I ate cake and cookies etc. For 3 day's I wanted nothing but sugary sweets, went out and got sf jello, sf pudding and some sf gummies to get me through the sweet cravings.
  15. Sometimes the truth hurts and sometimes that pain is exactly the medicine you need. I love your honesty and wouldn't have it any other way!
  16. I just bought 10's 3 weeks ago and have no choice but to wear a belt I just bought a pair of boots with no zipper and they slid right over my calf! That was an awesome feeling, so now at 44 I am going out to buy my first pair of skinny jeans to wear with said boots! And just a side note: I haven't touched tequilla since TJ when I turned 25!!! LOL
  17. lmfao!!! wooohooooooooo you go girl!
  18. So many different things can be behind their reactions. Jealousy, fear, etc. etc. I have a friend that didn't want me to have it done because she was afraid for me. In the end she is supportive, but continues to ask me to go get bagels for Breakfast and go to lunch at places that do not have things that I think are healthy enough. I have another friend that actually made this comment when I told her how much I lost so far " I better get a move on then, because now you weigh less than me and we can't have that!" I have 4 sisters and 3 of them barely talk about it or ask how I am doing. My other sister, she asked me to send her my liquid diet plan, what exercises I am doing what I am eating now etc. I have other friends that are really supportive and are happy for every step of my journey. Just go with the flow of it all. Everyone will react differently to what you are going through and how you are doing it. Only the ignorant will make comments like just stop eating and exercise. Yeah, duh, we can do that but we can't maintain it without help. Stay strong!
  19. Absolutely fantastic! Great job on your journey and congratulations on kicking thos co morbidities to the curb I agree with you it is like a re-birth!
  20. I am almost at 6 months and can eat like a "normal" person does now. Sometimes I have more restriction and sometimes not so much. I keep my calories 1200 and less. I researched and in order to maintain a weight of 140ish with out exercise you need to consume approx 1420 calories. I am still under that and at 171 right now and exercise regularly. Either way the body knows when to lose and when not to.
  21. I am a basic kinda salad girl, lettuce tomato cucumber and onion if finely chopped. I was able to eat salad with no problem 6 weeks out.
  22. It is amazing, isnt it? People get so used to seeing you a certain way that when you change, even for the better, their minds do not comprehend and to them there must be something wrong. You tried to educate and inform them, weather it works or not at least you know you did what you could to help them. You never know, some of them may surprise you.
  23. That is just the opposite, only a couple of times in my life has my face not been round like pics 1 and 2. I look in the mirror now or see a picture like the last one with the hard hat, and am in amazement and wonder sometimes, is that really what my face is supposed to look like, and then I smile bigger LOL.
  24. You gotta love it when the person that means the most to you tells you how sexy you are! Congratulations!
  25. That is awesome! Congratulations and way to rock your sleeve!
