  1. I wish hubby and I were able to do this together but we have a 13 year old at home and having both parents out of commisson would not work. Good luck!
  2. We are all going through this but keep in mind that almost everyone has gone through this before us. I am in the same situationh. Almost 6 weeks post op stalled for 3 weeks and on the third week gained 3 lbs. I don't get it but I do believe our bodies will catch up to what we are doing,
  3. I am almost 6 weeks post op and have been in a stall for almost 3 weeks now. In the 3rd week I gained 3lbs. I am still waiting for it to go away. My numbers are good so I know its ok... but it still sux LOL. You are not alone as you can see. We will get through this and everything will be fine. Just a matter of time for our bodies to get used to what we are doing.
  4. I love how down to earth and blunt you are. It is quite refreshing to read someone saying it like it is. I would say good luck, but girl, you do not need it LOL. You get what you put into it and one thing is for sure you put your heart and soul into everything you do.
  5. Dear Chef Neil's Wife, This week is very important. Think of all the calories he will burn prior to surgery.
  6. Forget the dinner! How bout that for an NSV???? I am so happy for you!
  7. I know how you feel Coops!! I love those NSA's
  8. You will be there too I have no doubt!! A six?? I might have a heart attack at that one LOL Thanks, Kelly!
  9. Not to sound too cliche' but everything happens for a reason! Rest and recover and you will be sleeved when the time is right!
  10. I'll do it with you!!! It is strange because I told some people and where as they were happy for me, they don't understand like the people here understand. So thanks everyone!!!
  11. For me, the pain in the hospital was bad but I was expecting it so that for me wasn't the worst, I had the morphine pump too but kept losing it in the damn sheets and it was easier to lay there than cause more pain looking for it lol. I think the worst part was the constant dizziness and light headed feeling I got when my BP went low, which was all the time until I made an appointment with my PCP and she took me off of two of my three pills for that. One thing is for sure, do not hesitate to call the surgeons office when you have a question about what you are doing or how you feel. I think the sleeve is a great choice, but I am a little biased LOL. Good luck!
  12. Pre-surgery, I had lost all of my drive because of all the pills that I was taking. Now 6 weeks post op and off most of those pills (from 20 to 3) I have finally gotten a little bit of my old self back. I actually cried because of it. So for me it was 5 weeks and 2 days My doc said 2-3 weeks officially though LOL.
  13. You have just made the best decision of your life! To get your health in check. I am 6 weeks post op this week and I can't tell you how happy I am. This isn't the cure to all that we go through but it is the tool that we need to get to where we need to be. I have every co-morbidity known to man (ok thats an exageration ) but because of this surgery and the work that I have put in I have gone from taking 20 pills a day to 3 a day now. It had gotten to a point where I didnt know if I was ill or if it was a side effect of a pill I was taking. I just recently heard on the news that a pill I was taking, Niaspan, took 2000mg at bed time every day for 5 years, is now known to be bad for you and causes strokes. LOVELY! Well because of this surgery, I am no longer on that pill. You will find the support you need here from almost everyone. Read everything you can so you are informed and go into this with your eyes wide open. Information is the key to success in everything we do in life. Welcome and good luck on your journey! You will do great.
  14. Its a life changing decision. Your fears are valid and warrented. One of the things that you will find about this site is that most everyone will want to lend support and help, from newbies to vets. Welcome to the board and good luck on your journey!
  15. Tamz, it is GREAT! Look what you have done in one day, down by almost 30! Your PCP and surgeon work in conjunction with eachother for your benefit. So they will confer and decide if you are good to go. Keep doing what you are doing and I think you will be ok. Who knows, tomorrow it may be down ANOTHER 30 The thrist is gone because your sugars are going down. Thirst is a symptom of high blood sugar. Keep drinking, keep walking and most especially, keep us updated. Everything is crossed that can be crossed for you.
  16. That is fantastic! You go in there and kick some a** The fact that you put yourself out there is such a big accomplishment in itself. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!
  17. Welcome and good luck! Just ask anything you need to ask everyone here will help in anyway they can.
  18. Thanks, guys! It was a great feeling, I have NEVER been a size ten, not even when I was ten! LMAO
  19. I agree with everyone. rest today and sweat out the fever if you can. Best of luck!
  20. Went shopping today for something to wear to my sisters rehearsal dinner. Found a shirt and a skirt, and grabbed an XXL top ( I have wide shoulders) and a size 12 skirt ( And to offset those shoulders II have chicken legs!) BOTH were too big on me. So I grabed a sixe XL, mind you this is from the regular section and not the misses section, and a size 10 for the skirt, yes a 10. IT FIT PERFECTLY. I am officially a size 10 skirt. Whouda thunk it ... I love my sleeve and am loving life right about now, stall or no stall LOL. :thumb: :bananahuge: :rapture:    :party4:
  21. Nope, not fair at all, but still awesome none the less LOL
  22. Thats absolutely awesome!!! I will take your word for it, but ahem, you need to start taking some pics lol.
  23. Now that is really encouraging! My hair is also very thin and fine. Thanks!
  24. Tamz let me know how it is working out, I feel for you and what you are going through. But do not up your dose unless the doc gives you the go ahead.
  25. My doc let me have it one month post op. I used to be a coffee addict! But when I tried it again, I didn't like it anymore. Truly upsetting because I loved my cup o'joe ... oh well lol at least I am no longer a caffeine addict lol.
