  1. I am totally excited!!! Saw my PCP today and well she agreed to take me off of my last diabetic pill. HOOORAHHHH I guess that means I am not diabetic anymore and it has only been 3 weeks since surgery and 5 weeks on the diet. In addition to that I don't have to take anymore blood pressure medicine....unless my Nephrologist says otherwise this afternoon, which I don't think he will. So the pill update: 20 to 10 to 6 to 2 a day in 3 weeks. I love my sleeve and it is doing exactly what I wanted it to do and more. I cried this morning with a big huge smile on my face. Just couldn't help myself. Raine
  2. You go girl!!! Great job and keep it up!
  3. All I can say is WOW!!! Fantastic results and you are right the before and after pics are really inspiring!
  4. Absolutely wonderful! My friend told me today at work that I need to do something about my clothes lol. I am only 3 weeks post op and 5 weeks on the diet, and my clothes are hanging on me. I don't want to go shopping yet, soon but not quite yet. I am going to pick up two goal items though, a little black dress and a pair of size 6 jeans. I don't think that I have ever been a size six LOL. Thank you and all of the "vets" for making this journey so much more understandable and easy for all of us.
  5. Good job to you and your sis! Glad you guys are doing well, it only gets easier from here on out.
  6. Your plan sounds the same as mine .... full liquids 2 weeks pre op clears for 2 1/2 days post op fulls until docs visit almost 2 weeks from surgery date now on mushies until the 4th week is over. Then what I can handle.
  7. Pre surgery never had an issue, now I go maybe once every two to three days. My docs office said that was great so I guess its ok. Just feels weird not to everyday.
  8. One of my co-workers told me "Hey I'm telling you now that I don't want to see skinny jeans at work" and my neighbor (female) said that as I walked into her court yard she can see i'm losing weight because she can see my boobs first and not my belly. Odd but OK, I'll take it. LOL
  9. You go girl!! Great job.
  10. I'm 44 and have been yo yo'ing my entire life, so far my face is ok other than the usual crows feet at this age, neck is good so no complaints there. Everything else kinda sags all over lol. But eh, I'm married 13 1/2 years, he loved me at 280 he'll love me with skin so it doesn't bother me .... much.
  11. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and have lost 14 lbs from surgery date. Total of 27 from the date that I started the pre-op diet. Welcome and good luck!
  12. I am 2 1/2 weeks out and on mushies now until my next dr's visit on the 26th. Today: Atkins Protein shake low sugar oatmeal made w/skim milk SF choc pudding w/FF whipped cream Atkins Protein Shake FF Peach Greek yogurt I'll be having mashed potatoes w/FF chicken gravey for dinner.
  13. That is where I want to be . I have hereditary high triglycerides so I will have to take meds for that for the rest of my life but I knew that going into it. I am having blood work done at the end of the month so we'll see what the numbers say.
  14. Ok, so as some of you know my main goal was to get rid of as many medications as possible. I have gone from 20 to 10 to 6 pills a day and I couldn't be happier about that. Well I thnk I have to call my doctor about my last diabetic pill, glipizide that I take once a day now, because seems my sugars keep going low. Today I woke and had a shake, then a 1/2 hour later had an oatmeal made with skim milk, a little later on I had a SF chocolate pudding with FF whipped cream. I was full and wanted to take a nap, so about 1:00 took a nap for a couple of hours and when I woke up I had a SF ice. MMmmm love those things. I felt a little jittery and took my sugar reading and it was 55! So I drank another shake and took another reading a little bit after that and it was 78. I am going to call my doc tomorrow about going off the last pill for diabeties and see what he says. 5 pills a day here we come!
  15. I had a "pig out" for about two weeks before my pre op diet started. lol I don't feel guilty at all either. Now 2 1/2 weeks post op I have towed the line to the letter. It is weird that if you are determined once you start you are good to go!
  16. It happens and it will pass.
  17. Everything happens for a reason and if he walks out on you for something as silly as joining a message board at a time when you need his support the most what can you expect him to do when other things happen in your life that require the support of your significat other? I dare say not much support will be given. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise? Maybe its time for you to take the negativity out of your life as you embark on this positive journey to a better you? Your decision, but keep in mind that it is only your decision and since you are on a streak of making the right decisions think long and hard about what kind of people you want to take on this trip with you. Good luck!
  18. I wish I could just have one cup of coffee! My doc says nothing but decaf until after week 4. Why bother with decaf, besides that it tastes weird to me lol.
  19. Because of the internal bleeding I had they stopped the hep shots on surgery day, but I did notice that the one shot I had did give me a bruise. Hope it gets better Meggie!
  20. At my two week post op on Thursday, my doc said no, it is a soft food and to wait til week 5. His regimine was pre-op 2 weeks full liquids, post op 2 days clears, almost 2 weeks fulls until I saw him, now on mushies until I see him again on May 26th. I expect then that I will progress to softs.
  21. Thanks guys. Meggie I know, I know! LOL First day and was just testing how the consistancy and quantity would "flow" I agree about the oatmeal, but I also thought to myself "self, nothing else has carbs in it" so I splurged. My total carbs that day was less than 40.
  22. Fantastic! Glad everything is moving along. Ugh, I remember when my c-section inscision got infected and had to do the same thing! I couldn't wait for a shower LOL
  23. Good luck and all the best. This board will give you so much information and support that you may be over whelmed.
  24. Mine stopped about day 7 or 8 ish, and now I am fine on day 17 Feel better.
