No Weight Loss Since Surgery
If your Dr is ok with your weight loss so far, then I think you're fine. 30 lbs is a good chunk of weight loss and those of us who lose some before surgery sometimes lose a little slower, because we don't have the big drop after surgery. That may have started your 3 wk stall a little early? Your body is catching up right now, and you could be losing inches. Patience is the hardest part of this, I always say I think my patience lived in the part of my tummy that was removed haha. Hang in there!

Does The Gastric Sleeve Work?
As others have said, any WLS is a tool and works if you use it properly. The Sleeve makes our tummy MUCH more smaller than it is, but it also removes the ghrelin hormone which causes hunger. You definitely have to be compliant with getting in your protein and lowering the sugar and carbs, but the sleeve helps extremely with portion control. You're still in control of what you put in your mouth though, so it takes work and commitment.

I Cant Believe I Got Food Stuck. What Did U Do?
I haven't ever had that! But I always use food lube lol. I never eat anything real dry. In your case, perhaps there's still a lot of swelling? When you say you went off your diet 1 wk early, do you mean you moved from liquids to mushies? I would be careful about this unless you have your Dr's approval. Not just because of this issue, but your staple line needs to heal. I hope you get past the pain soon.

Help! Everyones Telling Me Not To Go To Mexico, That Its Too Dangerous!
The Dr's in Tijuana and most other places in MX drive you everywhere you go. I just wouldn't suggest going off by yourself anywhere, because you wouldn't know the most dangerous areas. But I felt completely safe and I saw no signs whatsoever of violence. I did see a run down area driving to the other hospital and hotel, but if I went to a lot of downtown areas, even here in Alabama, I would find rough areas too. But if you are talking about your friends, family, and co-workers telling you not to go, then yes, I am sure it sounds like the craziest thing in the world. But there is a huge Medical Tourism business and they WANT to keep us safe, they want our money. So yes, be careful if you go, but thousands and thousands of people go there every yr for WLS and other medical and dental care and do just fine.

Cold Feet.
Hi, We all struggle with anxiety about having this surgery, or any surgery for that matter. I think it's rather natural to be nervous. I would just weight the pros and cons of having the surgery. Also make sure you have researched and are prepared for all the adjustments to make in your lifestyle. I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages by a long shot. I don't think age has anything to do with whether we get a leak or not. I have never heard of it having anything to do with it. Good luck!!

There Is A Voice In My Head...
It's completely naturally to be nervous and to think of the "what ifs". You wouldn't be normal if you didn't think about these things. I waited so long to have my sleeve and knew for a fact that it is what i wanted, i researched and read about it for yrs. But when I knew I was finally going to get do it, I had a little freak out too. You aren't alone.

Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp With Creole Mustard
I don't have any trouble with shrimp or eggs, but I have heard of people having issues tolerating some things. I've been really lucky. I have seen where people might have issues for a bit but later they are able to tolerate things better. I hope you can enjoy your shrimp and eggs soon.

Two Days To Sleeve By Dr. Kelly
Congrats to you, can't wait to hear about your experience, and all your many updates. I still have to remind myself not to worry or freak out when a hostess walks us to a booth instead of a table, because I can fit with plenty of room! It's funny how those fears take a while to forget about. Dr Kelly is amazing, I think you will really like him, and I hope you have the easy recovery most of his patients get to experience. Good luck!

Anyone Else Having Consistant Problems With The Site?
Alex, It seems like it was SQL server error. But that was just one day, and I thought it was my laptop, internet, or browser. But I tried to also use my iphone which is AT&T 3G and I got the error again. But the next day it was fine. I will let you know if I see that again and what exactly it said. Today I've been posting a lot, with absolutely NO problems.

Just Stop It Already
We all have different opinions sometimes, but as long as we respond with maturity and respect, I think that is normal.

Confession...
As long as I know there's a glass of plain water sitting there and I can take a tiny sip if I NEED to, then I usually don't. I hate plain water so it's not a major temptation for me to drink it, but since I have a choking phobia, I need it there just to ease my mind. I never need to drink it if I eat very slowly with tiny bites and chew it really good. I think it's important to get in the routine of NOT drinking while eating. Even if it doesn't seem to be affecting your appetite or eating now, later on it could make a difference with how much you can eat and affect your weight loss. I started practicing this before surgery and got in the habit, and it wasn't near as difficult as I imagined it would be. We eat so little, it's not at all like it was back in my heavy eating/drinking days.
