  1. i am having a down day!!!! i don't want to eat, drink or do anything. my husband made chilli for supper and i couldn't even eat one bite before i felt like i was going to throw up. i ended up making me a piece of fish. it was good but not what my head was telling me i wanted. i wanted something badddddd for me!!! PIZZA
  2. lee, my surgeon also wants me to get all of my protein from foods but some days it is hard to eat things that are high enough in protein. most days i get anywhere from 55-65 g. of protein. i should've done a protein shake tonight but i am so tired from my spin class tonight i don't have the energy to to get up and make it. ha ha. that damn bike kicked my a__. well good luck.
  3. yes snow thanks for the excellent post about all of the differnt plateaus we all are going through. after do many diapointments with weight loss how could you not be dpressed about no loss in weeks!!!
  4. i have never been to a gym before this journey that i am on. i meet with a personal trainer a few times for her to set my machines/weights for me. she told me how to use the stationary bicycle, treadmill and the eliptical. it took some time to get use to the eliptical, but i love it. 22 min and it burns 377 cals in that alone. then if you do all of the weight machine then you burn another 300 or so cals. i love doing those two things and i also liked the step class that i was doing, but had to stop because my foot is having problems. seeing the ortho on march 1st. i am going to try a basic spin class tomorow. may not be able to walk the next day but going to give it a whirl!! hope your gym experince goes well.
  5. bella, watch out buying too many flavors because what you like pre-op you might not like post op. there are things that i loved before surgery and can't stand now. like regular tea made in a tea/coffee maker with splenda sweetner, now i have to drink diet snapple peach tea. i have never liked tea out of a bottle. go figure!!
  6. my stomach cramps too. it feels like a catch right under my left ribcage. most days if i puch on it, it will go away for a few minutes...
  7. alright thanks tracey for the idea of the crystal light peach tea with a 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein, then microwaved. it is lovely and only 2 carbs in my protein. needed another way to get my protein and water intake up. i am in a one and half week stall and that is a b_ _ _ h. blah blah blah. sorry for my rattling on and on...
  8. way to go deedee. You are a great inspiration to all of newbies. Can't wait to make goal myself. Keep up the great work!!!!
  9. i tend to do really well at work but when i get home at night i graze. i hate myself most nights for that. i also haven't been going to the gym due to stuff coming up. i can't do any kind of step aerobics or the hip hop abs i found online because i have a hurt foot. it hurts so bad and i think i could have a stress fracture and can't see ortho till march 1st. i can't keep hurting my foot because i have to go to work and if i keep hurting it then i can't go to work. so i am getting me one of those exercise ball so i can do it at home. give me some ideas on what i can do with the ball....
  10. My physician doesn't want me eating in between meals but most of the time i do. Few mixed nuts, yogurt, cheese or peanut butter. I think that is best because i have friends of mine that have lost weight by eating 5-6 small meals per day. They say it keeps metabolism up. Don't know if this is true or not.
  11. coopersmama, when did you have your surgery? can't remember the date. i had my vsg on 12809 and i have had probably 3 stalls. one lasted at least 2 1/2 weeks and then i started losing again. i feel like it is our bodies adjusting to the surgery, we are on clear liquids and then start to eat semi regular foods and then the stall happens because your body thinks it is starving to death. then it realizes hey she is not starving me so it says hey i guess we can loose a little more weight. keep doing what your doing, make sure you eating enough cals. that your doctor and nutritionist wants you to eat. keep exercising and do some measurements and then in 2 weeks measure again and see how the inches are doing. the scale may not move but i bet the inches will. give it a try girl....

i wish i had problems with carbs like you guys do. they go down so well. i try to limit myself to 30 grams perday. some days i go over. yesterday i barely had 28 grams and today i had 45grams. go figure. well i know that i am not as strict as some people are on this forumn but i didn't have this surgery so i couldn't live a normal life. i don't want to be fat anymore but i still would like to eat certain foods. i am sure that way of thinking is abnormal!!!
  13. Congrats!! you are looking amazing. keep it up girl!!
  14. good job. my husband and i have dined out before and let me tell you the waitresses are the worst when you say nothing to drink with meal and no bread. they just can't get over that. good luck. it does get easier.

oh tiff, sorry that you have to go through surgery all over again. the only good thing is that you want hurt anymore when you eat. i know it can be miserable. had mine out back in 92 or 93. mine was also full of stones. it probably flared up due to your healthy diet. i will keep you in my prayers this week.
  16. i have told everybody at my work. i am not ashamed, the only thing i am worried about is failure. especially since they know at work about my wls. they will say why even have it done if it was going to come back. there are days i don't eat right. i guess it is head hunger that makes me want bad things. i have the support of all my family and most of my co-workers. so we will see how all of this goes. lol to vsg
  17. i have no regrets about getting sleeved really. the only thing i have going on is a reflux issue. some days are worse than others. but i am so glad that i did this in order to have a tool to help me loose some much needed weight.
  18. congrats on making the decision. what happens if you do get complications and you are back in the states? i had my surgery in chattanooga, tn so i don't know how this works when you go to mexico. not meaning to be negative just want to be educated. have a friend that is wanting to be sleeved and she can't get it approved by her bcbs.
  19. way to go shontel. i am so glad you are feeling and doing better than before. i am also right there with you about having stuff you want to eat. our weight loss might not be as fast as others on this site but if i want a chip or a french fry i usually only eat 1 or 2. wow now thats alot isn't it. also if i want something sweet well i eat maybe 3 oz of sf ice cream!!! you know those that deprive theirselves one day will loose their minds...

oh dear i hate this happens just so you could stop smoking. do you think you are allergic to the medicine. it almost sounds like it. i will pray for you to feel bettter soon.
  21. I have always had problems with constipation even before my surgery, but it is a little worse since surgery. I go about 4-5 days. Of course that is not the case today seeing how I have caught a virus!!! I woke up this a.m. and it has been the devil. Hopefully I want get dehydrated with this virus thing.
  22. congrats on your weight loss. you will get through this. keep your head up
  23. you could just leave the corn out. also the enchilada or the taco sauce would be fine too. do you like rotal tomatoes. cause i didn't have enough salsa so i used one can of rotel in mine. happy eating!!
  24. okay if you are still on liquids your bowels aren't going to move. i was told i could put a powder lactad i think it is called in my liquids. like i put it in coffee or tea and it has no taste. it might help. ask doctor about that.

okay today i didn't do good with my protein intake. should have drank a protein shake. i had maybe 48 grams today. not good seeing how my hair is getting thinner everyday!!! didn't get to put my intake in the webpage that i use until just few minutes ago. cause i had to clean up kitchen, cut up veggies for beef stew for tom. night, and then put kids to bed. blah blah blah. okay thats it, got to do better with protein intake tomorow. may try to double it tomorow with protein shakes. maybe do one in morning and one tom. night. will see. hard to choke down one in am. talk later. love you guys.:001_tt2:
