failure!

I have a friend who came to me today wishing to have surgery. she wanted to know if i would do it again. I said "hell yes". i wished that i had done this a long time ago. she is like so many of us. anyway she e-mailed me tonight and said she feels like she is a failure because she can't do this on her own. i know she has recently tried to loose some weight, she lost 40# and it is creeping back up since she is not dieting anymore. same song and dance for all of us isn't it. well we should keep all of the ones that are contemplating haveing this surgery in the next few months. she made her first step by making her seminar appointment. i am very proud of her. well that's it. hope there is someone else out there that this will help..

dizziness

good evening, i have been feeling like poopoo!! i have been so dizzy for the last 3 weeks. when i would bend over and get back up, it would be like the whole world was spinning around me at 350 miles per hour!! that was all day sunday. yesterday was just like that. so today i went for some blood work. a1c,insulin level and complete bllod count, check my thyroid and God knows what else. then i go see the doctor next wednesday. yea what fun. to be skinny and feel like crap warmed over!!:scared0::sneaky2::mad:

straws

:confused1:does anyone know when and if we can ever drink from a straw? there are some days that i want to drink from a straw. it helps wiith getting liquids down quicker and also helps with teeth staining. please let me know if anyone has any thoughts about this. help

went to see doc. today!!

:biggrin0: he was happy that i had lost 53# in 3 months and had not lost a whole lot. he said if i had lost alot he would be concerned with malnutrition. so i guess i should be happy with that if he is. also he asked me if i snack and how often. i do usually have some kind of snack in the afternoon. whether it be a fruit, peanut butter, cheese stick or a protein shake. he also wants my cals up to 1000-1200 per day. that is insane, even with the protein shakes i would have to drink 3 of them. how the hell can i do that when i can barely get in 50 or so of water. then he wanted to know how often i was exercising. i told him 5-6 times per week. it is not quite that but i was not in the mood for another lecture. already got one about the snaking!! well i guess that is enough blah blah blah... well talk later. going for a weekend trip with the in laws. wish me luck. first trip since surgery and hope it goes well. had to pack quite a bit of stuff just to be able to make it through the weekend.

clothes!!

okay tonight after work i went to cato's to try on some clothes. we are going on a trip to gatlinberg, tn with family in march, so i wanted to find some shirts that fit better and was not falling off of the shoulders. this is what i found. walked in the store and looked on the women's size clearance rack. tried on 2 pair of jeans that were an 18W and realized they were too big. so then i went on the regular side of the store and started trying on large and x-large tops. i bought 3 large tops. yes i said large. i have gone from a 3xl to a large!! i also fit into an 18 regular pair of jeans!!! couldn't believe it. that is amazing... good luck to all of you guys. i am still in amazement..:w00t:

not enough protein

okay today i didn't do good with my protein intake. should have drank a protein shake. i had maybe 48 grams today. not good seeing how my hair is getting thinner everyday!!! didn't get to put my intake in the webpage that i use until just few minutes ago. cause i had to clean up kitchen, cut up veggies for beef stew for tom. night, and then put kids to bed. blah blah blah. okay thats it, got to do better with protein intake tomorow. may try to double it tomorow with protein shakes. maybe do one in morning and one tom. night. will see. hard to choke down one in am. talk later. love you guys.:001_tt2:

bad day

:sad0:I have a horrible day today. i woke up not feeling good. went to work and ate some breakfast and within 10 min of eating it all came up. i tried so hard to not throw up all of it. i was so upset because i had to ask one of the nurses to help me. then all day my tummy was just turning. they asked me if i needed to go home but i couldn't afford to go home with me just coming back from surgery leave. i really wanted to come home but couldn't. i hope everyone else had a good day. i pray that no one felt like i did. thanks for reading this and replying cause i really need it. you guys are such great people. i will have to admit though i felt good enough this evening to go to my aerobics class that was scheduled, because i didn't want to miss a day. i love it so much.

getting more cals in?

:confused1:how do you get more cals in so the weight will start coming off again. I am stuck at 242 for the past 5 days. I don't like getting stuck like this! I really need to up my cals before the 21st or my doc will get on to me. I plug in all of my cals for the day and I have been staying around 750-780 just about everyday. Also when you up the cals you eat do your carbs not go up too. Need help figuring all of this out. So confused with all of this nutritional guide.

who on here goes on a webpage called "the world according to eggface". i haven't had time to make any of these but they all seem so good. she makes a protein cake and ice cream. wondering if anyone here has tried them. please post back..:thumbup:

Was discouraged!!

Good morning fellow sleevers. I was so discouraged for the past few days. I had been stuck at 251 for the past 4 or 5 days. I thought how can I not loose weight when all I am eating is just few ounces at a time and barely getting in 700 cal or so per day. So this morning I woke up and stepped on the ugly scale and yes oh yes I was down to 248. This sleeve really does work. Just keep your heads up and keep trusting in it. I have never had much faith in me loosing weight. So Laura have faith in the procedure you just had done two weeks ago please!!!!!

feeling good!!

Hello tonight. almost 1 week post op. feeling very good tonight. i had two 4 oz protein shakes today for a total of 40 grams of protein. they do make a difference in the way you feel. i start getting really shaky and weak feeling right before i know that i need to drink one. FOr all the ones that have not had your surgery be sure to get you some meal replacement powder or whatever you think you can stomach!! believe me it helps!

pain

hey guys, i am a newby to the vsg. i am having pain in the upper left of my abdomen that feels like i have a catch in it. i have had it pretty much all day. it started bothering me worse when i laid down. i don't know if i should call my doctor. it is a dull pain. i had procedure done on 120809:sad0:
