Pills
I was able to take pills as soon as I got home. I did make the mistake of taking them to close together once and I slimed. I just take one, drink a good amount of water, wait 15 minutes and take another. (I take a few things at night)

Chicken
I am now on whatever I want to eat, but I am still really careful about chewing and so forth. I can have nuts-no problem. Lots of other things that surprise me. But chicken-it kills me every time. I can't do it. It just hurts SO bad. I chew and chew and chew, but I can not do chicken. Anyone else?

Couch 2 5K
I am on w2d2. I love the program. The key is to do it every other day. If you try doing it every day it will kick your ass from here to China. I am running a 5k in May, a 10k in August and hopefully a full marathon by next spring. I have the program on my Iphone, so I listen to my own music and the program just tells me when to run, walk and stop. My favorite is when it tells me I am done.

50 at 50!!!!
drinks are my hardest thing. I drink Water and pink lemonade crystal light. I don't even LOVE the crystal light, but I just needed something different. There are some low sugar/low cal fruit juices (I can't find them here, but I can find them in other locations) but I honestly don't care for them. I just can't find anything I love! Oh, and congrats on the 50 lbs! That is WONDERFUL! :001_smile:

Today...
I got out of the shower, grabbed my towel and wrapped up in it. Surprisingly, it went ALL THE WAY AROUND ME! Seriously-people can tell me all day "You look great!" but the towel fitting all the way around me? That will keep me smiling for weeks! :drool5::thumbup:

How are you feeling???
I still don't feel great and I am 6 weeks out. I have severe diarrhea that I am trying to get through. It is awful. :001_smile: However, physically, I am training to run a 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon and then marathon, so I am running every other day and swimming on the days in between. Obviously I feel pretty good in that department.

Coke
Orange juice...oh, how I crave the oj! I have never been a big orange juice drinker, but it just sounds sooooooooo good right now!

Coke
I had a ginger ale this morning. I was so ill feeling and I had to drive about an hour and a half from my friend's house to our beach house and I didn't know what to do. I drank it slow, just had a small amount. It helped me feel better and if I took TEENY sips, it didn't hurt. I took a sip of my mom's sierra mist a few weeks ago and thought I was gonna die. It HURT. IT certainly isn't something I am going to do on a regular basis, but this morning it made me feel less sick.

Y'all will not believe this article...very insightful
I learned a long time ago that exercise (for me) does NOT move the scale. i am exercising this time for my health only. NOT for my weight.

Running and carbs
I have started running every day. I hope to run a marathon by the end of the year. :drool5: I love it. The thing is-I am sticking with 30g of carbs, but everything that I have read with runners is that you need more carbs for fuel. I am wondering if I should up my carbs a bit when running. Any thoughts?

Lost interest
I use the prenatal chewable vitamins. (Available by prescription) The Flinstones are lacking a lot of things you need. Tiffy can help you more with this topic.

Lost interest
I feel this way every day. I never want to eat anything. I eat to live. If something does sound good, I will want it and then when I have it, I never want it again. Odd.

Introducing new foods too fast??
I was told no strawberries or anything with seeds. I eat watermelon when I am really thirsty and water just isn't cutting it. I only eat a few spoonfuls at one time.

Diet Soda
I went from cokes to sprite, to nothing. It was really hard. But I did it. Trust me, you won't want anything carbonated after your surgery. I took a sip of my mom's Sierra mist last week and it HURT. I not longer have any desire for it!

Beginning to eat solids (suggestions?)
I am starting soft foods also. Today I bought: Trader Joe's-Organic Beef Top Sirloin Roast-Fully cooked and seasoned The protein count is high, no carbs of course and it was SOFT and tender. (I boiled it in the bag for about 6 minutes) It was SO good. I could only eat about 2 oz, my husband ate 6 oz and there is probably about 5 oz left. I ate a piece of cheese about an hour later and that was my dinner. In 3 oz, there are 90 cal, no carbs, 2g fat, and 19g protein. :scared0: My tummy took it well and didn't leave me running to the bathroom afterwards. (that is HUGE for me!)

Question about Nausea
I have this problem at night. It is when I go to take my medicine. I gag and just feel ick. Mornings don't seem to be a problem. Hopefully someone will have some suggestions for us! When it gets really bad, I take a Zofran that I have from when I was pregnant. That has only been a few times though.

Really frustrated with surgeon
So here is the story... No one called yesterday afternoon, so I got up this morning and called as soon as my GP's office opened. They said I could come in at 9:45. I was seen within 15 minutes. :thumbup1: My doctor seems to feel pretty confident that he will be able to do all follow up with me. He said the only reason we would really need to call back my surgeon is if I had a leak or other major complication. He prescribed a medicine that helps with the cramping-he really doesn't feel there is a problem with my sleeve-he just thought this was part of the healing process. He also told me to back up to full liquids for a few days and then do mushies again. He just thinks my body isn't ready yet. I took the medicine tonight and i have had no cramps at all. Still having some diarrhea, but not NEARLY as painful. So around 3 my surgeon called me and I didn't get to the phone on time. I listened to his message and he just said "Hey, just seeing if you are feeling better. Call me if you need me." Well, I don't need him so I didn't call him. I can't decide if I will ever call him back. He has about $700 of mine that I haven't used in nut appointments and other parts of my program fee. (Membership to a gym for 6 months-I won't use it because we just joined Lifetime and I love it) I am going to request that he refunds that money to me. I hope that he does, but honestly at this point I want to feel better and my GP is helping me with that. If I lose the $700, I will be pissed, but at least I will feel taken care of.

Really frustrated with surgeon
Dr Stephan Myers of Columbus, Ohio. I will update later, but he certainly didn't redeem himself today. He DID call, but he waited until 3 pm. I didn't even answer. I have already seen my GP and he was able to help me out. I will update later. The baby just got up from his nap so I have to run!

Really frustrated with surgeon
Thanks, everyone. I appreciate all the kind words. My PCP sees 5 patients same day if you call at 8:30 am. I am going to attempt to get in tomorrow. My anxiety is so high because of all this. I also feel like i am just waiting for it to hurt. Ugh.

Really frustrated with surgeon
Well, last night I had some really ripe watermelon and it did it. (and some water) It does it after just about anything.

Really frustrated with surgeon
Okay. I will do that for sure. I had hyperemisis with both of my pregnancies and sometimes the ginger did help, so I will try that for sure. I am willing to stay home from my trip next week if it means I can get this taken care of. I am tired of feeling like crap!

Really frustrated with surgeon
Tiffy said "slob your knob" :thumbup1: You made me laugh! I am on mushies. I am seriously about to just go on the advice of that Cornell study instead of my surgeon. He has never mentioned when I go from mushies to soft foods. At this rate, I will never make it to soft food because it doesn't look as though I will ever see him again. I feel nauseated when I have the cramping. The cramping happens after I eat anything. Sometimes it even happens after I have Water. Sometimes it ends with diarrhea. Other times it doesn't. Some times I also have a pain like where my gall bladder would be? (though it was removed 2 years ago) The pain is just awful. Usually if I lay on my side in the fetal position, it will subside within an hour or so. So the nausea and the pain go hand in hand. I am on prilosec 20g, 1 per day. I take it at night. The peppermints don't have too much sugar? Sometimes I really really want something to suck on (don't take that dirty, my friends) like a candy (not a TON, just like once every other day or so) but I wasn't sure I could ever do that again.
