  2. My DH ahd theband. HE could not get any food down. He could eat ice cream, chips, Cookies but he could not eat chicken, veggies or salad. He got the band removed in Dec and will be sleeved in April. How much weight do you have to lose?
  3. I a, getting sleeved on the 31st. I am nervous and excited and really just want to be done with the surgery already. I am 39 and line in NJ
  4. Jan 31 here. Did my ekg, chest xray and b/w this past weekend!
  5. What a great post to see! I am soon to be 40 and getting sleeved on 1/31. I cannot wait to feel like you do right now!!!
  6. Mine got submitted tosay too! I am nervous and excited and scared. LOL
  7. It sounds like she swapped food for alcohol. WLS should have no negative impact on your liver. Sad.
  8. Date is set, waiting on one piece of paper before they will send my files over to insurance. We have Aetna and they have a quick turnaround the office staff said. It is getting real. Did my chest Xrays, EKG and bloodwork. Going to see my PCP in 10 days for final clearance. Wowza. My Dr sets super low goals...anyone else have a surgeon like that? He said he wants me to lose 60 lbs in a year. Um, I am 39, f, 5'10.5" and weigh 295. He is going to be shocked by the effort and work I put in. I am a SAHM mom to three kids with autism. I am praying for an easy recovery. I will start hanging around here more. Dana
  9. Thanks so much for the replies! I am sure they will get it done for me, but it is the last hurdle. Well, that and telling my mom Thnakfully my husband is great and is getting sleeved once I am fully healed and able to take care of the kids without any assistance/ We are guessing around May for him.
  10. So, my insurance just changed to Aetna. They require Drs notes from 2 annual weigh ins. My PCP does not weigh her patients, so she is no help. Thankfully my GYN does. But this is such an abnormal request for them. They are having a hard time doing it. I need to call them monday and be sweet as pie. My date is 1/31 so I have about 10 days to get them to do it right. If not, I am going to have to have my PCP write something. The last minutes stresses.... And I have not told my mom yet, and I am waiting for it to be submitted...she is going to be pissed. Which sucks, because we will needs help with the kids while I am in the hospital. The joys of the final countdown!
  11. You are so brave and inspiring to share your pictures. You look wonderful. You look half your size and so much younger. Congrats!
  12. I am scheduled for the 31st!
  13. I had 2 c/s On my second one, my Dr could not tie my tibes due to the scar tissue. My OB said I need to tell any Dr who wants to take out my appendix of the scar tissue. My scar tissue was evident on my xrays and my surgeon says that it is no cause for worry. though, if I did a bypass, I would worry, My rpresurgical appt is on the 5th and that is something I will double check with him,
  14. I think you need to figure that out for yourself. I am 5'11, I weighed 285 when I got pregnant with my twins and then I weighed 272 when I got pregnant with my youngest. I had full term, healthy and easy pregnancies ( at ages 33 and 34). I am betting doing it before will be an easier recovery than chasing after kids, but you have to follow your gut.
  15. Awesome. I am scheduled for the 31st!
  16. My clotting ptt was off. I had to do additional testing after 3 weeks of waiting I tested positive for lupus anticoagulant
  17. My husband knows, and that is it for now. When I am officially approved, I will tell my mother. I am almost 40, and I do not want to hear anyone's comments good or bad. My mom will be mad and worried, but I have to tell her as I will need her to watch my kids the day of surgery.
  18. I am preop and no longer a smoker, but my Dr does bw for nicotine the week before surgery and you get dropped from the schedule if you test positive for it.
  19. Go to a podiatrist. I got a few cortisone shots and orthotics, it took a few months but the pain in completely gone!
  20. My husband had to do the nuclear because he was too heavy to do the regular one.
  21. It's a piece of cake. On mine, they found I had ulcers, so I am on meds and will have another egd. No biggie. Good luck and relax. It takes less than 10 minutes.
  22. My egd showed multiple ulcers, but I am so glad to have found them! Without the EGD I never would have known and ulcers can turn into cancer and my father died of esophageal cancer, so I am thankful mine have been biopsied and will be rechecked in 2 months!
  23. My surgeon gave me a letter with my info all my Dr had to do was print it on her letterhead. Super easy
