You can do better than the Premier Protein, I might get in trouble for saying this but it's utterly over rated the stuff tastes like crap and this is only my opinion I tried liking the stuff and tried all 3 flavors vanilla being best out of the bunch and bought it at costco without tasting it first. Sorry for not liking the almighty premiere Protein this how much I dislike this stuff. Good luck!

LOL I agree with the above statement grilled or bake your wings it is better for you and then you can always put a light sauce on them.

I had similar issues, but with my esophagus. It would constrict painfully with every tiny sip. That lasted for the first two weeks or so, but it did subside once I was healed up.

If you need to crush meds, I find it best to add to yogurts or Protein Shakes. It doesn't change the taste normally and you can't even tell most the time, depending on the medication. I was told by my surgeon that I can take pills the size of an eraser head or smaller. Most of my pills I can swallow on their own but I mix others with strong flavored items. It all depends on what your surgeon says you can eat and then go from there.

I had gotten in the habit when my lapband was too tight to dissolve my pills in a cup of Water flavored with crystal light or other SF flavored mix. Now I have the sleeve and am still doing the same thing. All I can really taste is the flavored water

Ok....I'm super picky about the Protein shakes. I have tried tons of them. If you buy them at Vitamin Shoppe or GNC you can return them. GNC gives you a refund. Vitamin Shoppe gives you a credit.
So far this is what I can tell you for sure:
I can not tolerate any of the Bariatric fusion or Bariatric Advantage shakes. They are just awful. Celebrate has Soups which again are not to my liking. Very whey tasting no matter what I add. Protizyme taste ok but are thick. I add more milk and can stand the chocolate and Peanut Butter cookie flavor. I did not like the unjury shakes or Soups at all. They were very gritty in my opinion.
I can drink most of the Nectars except blue sky which last like dish Water. My favorite is the Fuzzy Naval. Dymatized ISO 100 chocolate and cinnamon bun are good and I don't have issues with either. The birthday cake by Dymatized is GREAT!
My favorite overall is PE science Snickerdoodle. I can drink it, cook with it, add to oatmeal etc...It's by far my favorite. I add 12oz of fair life milk and get a whooping 44 grams of Protein for one shake.
I have not like any of the premixed shakes like premier. They all have a funny after taste. It's so individualized to specific taste. My spouse had the surgery 2 weeks after I did and can tolerate all of them.
Good luck finding your drink of choice.

    Hello Lipstick Lady,
My two cents go as follows, i'm a rookie by the way my surgery is in about three weeks. I believe that folks are inherently just judgemental. The first time I was actively following surgery over a year ago I made the mistake of sharing my decision with friends and family, I couldn't believe the resistance i received from a boat load of people who had no clue and didn't due the research I did and yet there it was basically I was labelled lazy and crazy, opinions are like a$$holes everybody has one and occasionally they spew forth diahrrhea. I think we are all judgemental to an extent I think it's just in our nature as social creatures. One persons wrong way is anothers right. Ultimately it's our, yours and my decision because we usually know what is best for us. I am nervous as heck yet I know if I dont push foward the myriad of obesity related illnesses that I have are going to bury me sooner than later and you know what I'm not ready to push daisies just yet. As the saying goes "It's hard to be a saint in the city."

I use Premier Protein shakes which are pre-made and I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder. It is best to try several samples. Most peoples tastes will change after surgery. I ended up giving away tons of shakes that I no longer liked after surgery. There are several websites that have samples and you can also try GNC for samples.

I had my surgery yesterday. I found out that I had a hernia that they removed during surgery. I'm feeling pretty good today no nausea, and I am able to drink fluids pretty easily. I'm much more sore than I'd thought I'd be. I'm so relieved that the surgery is over and my new life is beginning!

Daily routine still a moving target, this is a huge change and it takes planning!!
Use myfitnesspal because you can record Protein etc to keep on track
I have kids although their teens and that makes it hard because food everywhere and hey cook, buy and have it everywhere, I bring them places etc. you don't have the control you can have on a 3 year old.
But, mental preparedness is most important. You're body does not allow cheating! Physically no room and causes discomfort/pain. Being proud of change because you cut back won't matter, you could make yourself sick, that's the issue. For a while things are eliminated period.
    You can do it!!! ????
