  1. Knew you could do it! You are a warrior! Keep up the good work!
  2. This whole journey is hard. But don't give up. You just have to keep at it and celebrate the little victories. We are to hard on ourselves. One step at a time is the way to a victorious journey! We are addicts who unlike alcoholics can give up our addition completely. We need food to live. So we often have to fall off and get back on several times until we reach our often unrealistic goals. Let our first step as addicts to say I am going for being healthy and not thin... We see the stories and the pictures and the encourage and discourage us.... For the most part we have been on this journey so long it seems as it will never end... But the best part is that if we keep trying and working and keep faithful it will move in the right direction and soon you will find yourself feeling better and living like you never have before. Be encouraged my journey was long but it was worth it.... @ adoptmom
  3. Let's go first to the positive... You have kept off 30 of the 50! Celebrate that. Before the band you prob would have gained that plus more... Now I am old school... Banded back in 04' I haven't had a fill since 05' so who knows if I still even have liquid in my band... I drink hot tea in the morning... Now probably more from habit and like of it then by necessity. It loosens things up so I can eat my breakfast later in the morning... Jamie (that's what I named my band) is still very sinsitive to mornings... She and I have fought over the years and on many times she had to remind me she is my trainer and I am the person who has to go the work... " I am only a tool for a better you" she say after I would whine that I had not lost enough weight. "Did you walk today?" she'd nag until I got up. I say this because I have been where you were... But I made it to where I am because I stopped relying on Jamie and realized that she just helped me not over do it so I could exorcise and yes succeed at weight watchers... Now I can follow the plan and loose the weight because I can stop... I say use weight watchers because you will track what you put in your mouth... The truth of weightloss is it is calories in... Calories burned that get you to lose the weight... And before you say but why did I get surgery if I still have to go to weight watchers... My answer is do once you learn how to eat you can keep it off... But it seems to me that you have not learned how to yet... Just my 2 cents... Hope it helps!
  4. I was 39 when I had my twins and my numbers were all screwy... Dr said it was because I was having twins... Both my little ones are great... My son does have apraxia (problem with speech) but is very slight and my daughter is a baby genius... I decided against the amino because I knew I was having them no matter what... I am sure your baby is fine and who knows if my numbers had anything to do with the band.
  5. My only comment is which one has the lowest mortality rate... Be informed and careful and what ever you decide you can do this!
  6. Does W W really defeat the point... No I used WW when I began and it works great... I learned that my band is a tool and now that I had it I could learn to eat well and I could finally stop when needed... It won't be forever that you will need help.... But we are addicts and WW is like going to A A. The band is like getting detox... I have not had a fill in about 6 years... But I changed my life. I still have to exercise and not go crazy on the junk. But be encouraged you can do this!
  7. Whoo hoo get ready to begin the work! Let's do this!
  8. Bad me have the same habbits just in smaller amounts... chocolate. I am usually bloated so I have lots of restriction but I will drink the hell out of some coco! Lol
  9. 10 years you are definatly a pro... I have been banded 8... And I have changed so much I don't even recognize myself ( eating habbits) but know this you are strong and God does not give us anything we can't handle. It's an addition so I hope you got some counseling for the overlying issues... Good luck and we are here it you need support!
  10. Sometimes I feel as if I must lecture and today is one of those times... Your band is meant to be a tool to remind you that you are full... It is NOT meant to keep you from eating... Many of you are looking for the sweet spot... You are going to end up loosing your band... Help yourself... Use a journal and exercise to help you with weightloss. I have had too many of my friends need new bands because they wanted a quick fix and not a long term solution... Use it a a tool and you will feel better and your band will last longer.... Sorry just my two cents from being banded for so long.
  11. Wow I feel for you... I guess I have been one of the lucky ones... Banded for almost 8 years...
  12. What you are feeling is perfectly Normal just remember that the band is a tool. And we are all paranoid at first wondering if we are doing it right. Take it day by day and excersize and you will be fine.
  13. Wow pre opt diets... Things have changed... I went out for my last steak the night before... My Dr recommend the restaurant. Lol but that was 8 years ago and 120lbs... Good luck I feel for you.
  14. I am a real oldie... Banded nearly 9 years and had twins 3 years ago... Let me know what cha need!
  15. Btw I have been banded for almost 9 years!
  16. Have you tried weight watchers! It works... I know you think the band should do it all, but it (weightwatchers) helps to keep track... I have had my band and been loving it... But when I stray I go to weight watchers and the gym.
  17. I am using ibp app it's free
  18. I am in Ontario and work in corona... Been banded for nearly 7 years... What can so to help!
  19. Hello ladies it's gods little gift to let you nourish you baby... I loved it but know that it is short lived... Went back to normal after I gave birth... congrats and good luck...
  20. I am a mommy of b/g twins who are now 2. My pregnancy was normal and I went to 38 weeks and had relatively no issues... BleedIng at 12 weeks which was scary... But even with all that I agree with everyone... Twins is a dangerous thing I was just one of the lucky ones... My girlfriend lost her daughter when her water broke at 26 weeks and her son is fighting to survive... So one at a time is fine... Just take care of yourself an all will be fine.
  21. I have been banded 6 years no complications and even had twins and lost the weight again...
  22. i am 32 weeks pregnant with twins... i had not one day of morning sickness...enjoy it there are plenty of other things to worry about...:tongue2:
  23. I was too 20 lbs from goal...but my perspective is a little different...my husband and I went through many challenges to achieve this pregnancy. These twins have brought me 36lbs of joy. It took me two years to loose all but 20lbs from goal... I stopped because one the scale had nothing to do with my looks... no one thought of me as overweight but me...as I am sure it is the same way as you Heather. How proud you should be that you were just 6lbs away from an arbitrary goal and I bet no one thought you needed those 6lbs but you... We as women are too hard on ourselves. I want to applaud your achievement and now you have another that you should focus on... If you lost it the first time, you can and will lose it again... I know I am going to gain another 20lbs at least because each day it seems the twins get bigger... but I lost 110 lbs last time...so what is a measly 64 or 70... when I get to have the most precious thing(s) I could imagine... My own children... Just my 2 cents...
  24. Wow...what insightful ladies you all are... I have been banded since it seems the beginning of time... not really... I have had no problems until now being pregnant... I never made it to my goal weight ( I stopped short by 20 or so pounds...but my focus changed... I was trying to get pregnant and now I am... I hope that my issue (reflux) is due to pregnancy and nothing more... but I am glad to hear all of the other stories. To be informed is the best that we can do... especially for those of us who have already committed to this journey. I hope that all goes well for everyone in the future and after the twins are born I will probably try to loose the baby weight without a fill... will it be possible...who knows...but my never being tight seems to be the answer to my not having problems (referring to myself only) it seems I needed help to push away... that's why I did not have the bypass... I knew I loved food and just needed a push in the right direction... Just my 2 cents
