  1. The WRONG Answer: This band is going to make me skinny! I dont have to do anything, it's like magic!! The RIGHT Answer: This band is a tool... It helps me with moderation. It doesn't help me pick the broccoli over the donut. I have to do that. The band is just the tool and I am the operator! LOL They are trying to weed out people with unrealistic goals of the band and what it does. But if you have gone through all the classes and have done some research on the LapBand..You should be able to pass no problem
  2. heh i worked the night before my surgery i got off at 12 am and went to the hospital at 5:30 ! I was like i'm ready to be knocked out so i can get some sleep! When i wake up it will be over! Good Luck! Think happy thoughts and all will be well! Welcome to the club! And we will all be waiting here on the other side.
  3. Hell I was covered with scars before lapband. I don't see it as a problem. My bf asked me about my previous ones I think 6 months after we were serious. I have some from having gall bladder removed from having kids. From softball and a lot from just being a Tom boy. To men it's usually no big deal.
  4. Twi my doctor never said anything about bending but I learned not to do it bc it hurt. As for going to work. I would have been able to go back after a few days if I ha your job. But with mine I took off 11 days and even then I was only able to work half days for about 5 days after that. The reason for me o ly working half days is because I kept hitting my port site at work. It would make me very nauseas and hurt a lot.
  5. My doctor have me 1 week of liquids 1 weeks purée / mushie food 1 week soft /semi solids. Then after that I go straight solids. I've been leery of solids but I tried a few small pieces of chicken last night and did fine. I got full a lot faster I noticed. But most of my diet I still keep soft or semi solid. It seems all docs are different.
  6. I broke down and bought a bottle...Though they didn't have the light only the regular... I must say i didn't care for it.. though spending almost 4$ for the damn thing i drank every drop of it... lol might as well drink it if i'm going to spend that kind of money on it. It wasn't quite what i was expecting.. I think I'll stick with the EAS protein drinks..I can handle those a lot better..
  7. Well i've already had blood work done this week...not anemic.. But i did take 2 b complex vitamins and already feeling a bit better then i was ... I no longer feel like i'm going to fall straight on my face.
  8. Join myfitnesspal.com. You can do this on your computer or on your phone. I love it on my phone do I can quickly add what I just ate. Oh and it has a bar code scanner. I love scanning my snacks and not having to enter all the information! But it helps me keep track of what I'm eating. How many calories I'm taking in and how much protein I'm eating. It's a wonderful little app/website!
  9. I have three kids. No rest for the wicked lol. I dunno I'm just tired of being tired! I will pick up some more b 12 vitamins and see if that will help.
  10. I'm 3 weeks out I'm walking anywhere from 30-60 minutes a day. I average about 7 hours of sleep a night. But after I eat breakfast (1 egg, 1 cup skim milk and my vitamins) I feel drained. I feel like I could go to sleep standing up and it doesn't go away. I feel tired all day long. I'm getting 70-80 g protein a day and my calorie intake is about 800. I'm getting 6 glasses of water in a day. I was just wondering if anyone else has or had symptoms like this. Is it normal? Is it something I'm doing wrong??
  11. Protein drinks will help to get your protein up. Ask your nutritionist/doctor if he would recommend high protein foods for you. My nutritionist suggested new direction soups, proti15 drinks and soy snacks. Yours may ask that you eat something else.
  12. As far as I can tell u can order it from your doc mine had a website I go to to order from. Www.owlo.com. Then go to online store. The log in is owlo and the password is owlo. They ship to ur house.

  14. I know im a long ways from having a TT/lower body lift. Im looking into good surgeons in this area. It took me two years to do enough research on my doctor and a few others before i had my lapband. I guess i like to be well informed.. i considered mexico as an option but would definately want referals fro people who have actually had surgery from that doctor. With three kids and unmarried i will probably have to save the next twoyears to get this done . Thanks for your input!
  15. I have blue cross blue shield. My work pays for my insurance. I was approved bc I'm morbidly obese. I pay 10% my insurance is paying 90%. I work at Riverwind casino. My doctor is Ronnie Kieth. I was banded on 12/30/2011
  16. Im in norman but i have 18 to 20. Im still holding on to my 16s preparing for when i can fit into them!
  17. Have many tried this? I keep hearing about it but it's not in the dairy section. Does it taste like milk? I prefer the taste of skim milk. What are your thoughts on the taste and where can I fInd this stuff?
  18. Count yourself lucky some of us had to do just liquids for two weeks before.
  19. If u stick to liquid diet yes . But do the preop diet your doctor gave u.
  20. Try new direction soups..full of protein and liquid..cottege cheese my be too rough on your tummy..
  21. Well none of us are perfect banders..we have all cheated once twice or more..its just what you do after u cheat. Try to stay on track. When u fall off ask for help.i told my bf if i tried to cheat to remind me why im doing this. Its hard for meto pass upntemptation unless i am 1.extremely motivated or 2 i have help. I cheated on mypreop bc well i wanted something i knew id have to give up. It was only one day. And i drank pepsi and ate mexican food. Then went back to my liquid diet.. Now that i look back on it the taste are a fading memory. Do i miss soda yup, but ive read too many horror stories of foaming it up that i dont want to try it. Plus its just empty calories... But i found a pic of me im about 190lbs in the pic and i look damn good. I carry that in my purse, when i want to cheat i pull it out and say. "This is what you are working towards...to be healthy and good looking, to have self confidence again. Don't screw it up and cheat..the moment will pass." I try to find a satisfying Protein snack. So i hope this helps. There is still hope for you...at least you feel guilty about it. Lol
  22. Congrats to all o u! I still have 50 lbs before i can say that!

Thought id ask if anyone has actually ordered a dream number bed or sleep number bed...after being bored a while and thinking how much mybed sucks...i might purchase one. But i wanted real reviews.
