Dr. Quiroz in Mexico
Tick tock, tick tock... I'm sitting here waiting for responses cause I'm excited about your mini lift. I agree with you - if they remove my band, they better remove some fat, too. Looking forward to meeting you soon. I want to say goodbye to your chin before it's gone.

DeLarla, How are You Feeling?
Kim, good thing you're not here now cuz I'd be hugging you and bawling all over your shoulders. I don't feel very inspiring, I feel like a big whiner. I guess I'm gonna have to accept the fact that this wasn't my fault. I keep thinking there's something I could have done to prevent this. But as hard as it's been, the fact remains that I've lost a lot of weight. I was at rock bottom wanting to die last year. Today I just want my belly to heal so I can stop worrying and start being thrilled with my success. The irony is that I can finally fit into smaller sizes and cuter clothes, but the only thing comfy are stretchy pants since anything with a wasteband bothers my wound. I finally have more than 3 pairs of pants, but I wear the same black stretchies 3 times a week. Isn't it ironic, as Alanis would sing. I'm hoping for good news tomorrow. Mary hasn't seen the wound for a week, so I hope she sees some progress... I hope. Thanks, Kim. I'm going to bed warm and fuzzy now cuz of you. Thank you.

Tuna Fish
Another super simple one and a switch from tuna is canned salmon. Squeeze out the liquid from a large can, mash in an egg and some bread crumbs & parsley. Make into patties and fry in a couple dribbles olive oil. Serve with fresh squeezed lemon and a few drops of Tobasco. Chris puts the cold leftover salmon cakes with Mayo in a sandwich and eats them all gone!

Tuna Fish
I use a whole fresh lime and try to get lots of pulp out. Mash the tuna so it's super smooth and make the onions really tiny and add cilantro to your taste (I use tons.)Sometimes I add celery or lemon pepper or whatever else I find - even a shot of hot sauce. Lemme know how ya love it!

DeLarla, How are You Feeling?
Thanks, Tammy. It was a little lonely here this Friday night, so I'm glad you're awake with me. Keep me from going back to the evil kitchen. I'm usually the tough broad that moves mountains and gets things done, but this experience even wilted my petals. I'm not sure if I have any fight in me this time.

Food Journal Thread
All I gotta do is make it till bed time, that's all I gotta do, no more food. How hard could that be? I had my decent Breakfast, my decent lunch, and a decent dinner plus too many Bugles and cheese Wiz (the diet police should put me away for life.) But still, I wasn't stuffed full, so there's still a chance for me.

Francescaaaaaaa! I always get so excited when I see you. I've been through so much but then I come here and find my friends and it makes the boo-boo a little better. My friend, Mary, was changing my wound every day till this week when I finally started changing the bandages. She's going to check it weekly, which is tomorrow. This way she'll be able to see if it's getting smaller. I hope she looks at it tomorrow and tells me it's better. Lots of deep sighs lately. I haven't even mentioned the weird cramps in my belly from the tubing. It feels like there's a tube in my abdomen... oh yeah, there is! Creepy alien girl.

Tuna Fish
I used to get this awesome tuna salad from a lunch truck, so I asked the guy his secret. He said to stretch the tuna (or to cheat the customer!) he'd add bread crumbs and mayo then put it in the food processor to make it smooth. Strange, but that was the best tuna ever. I either do the mayo/relish/olive thing, or I do: Tuna, cillantro, lime, red onions - even hubby loves this super-light version.

80% Divorce Rate!!!!!!!!!
I finally stole some time to read this whole thread. Wow, I feel like I know some of my LBT buddies much better now. Totally relating to Megan's comment "okay to screw but not to date." I thought that was my own personal hell in my youth (before I got married.) That's the same way I was treated, ALL the guys wanted to get in bed with me, I mean all of them... but none of them asked me on dates. Sure, my skinny friends went on dates, but now it all makes sense. And Leatha, I had to leave a man that I'll love till the day I die because of similar reasons. I got lucky though and found Chris, who is in bad, bad need of an entire paint job Rica! He's a pain in my big fat butt, but he's all mine and he loved just as much before the surgery as now. Estela, your last post made me really happy. I love seeing woman gaining confidence and happiness without having to lean on a guy. Buy yourself two pairs of shoes, heck, get a pedicure, too.

Food Journal Thread
No, you can't binge on a cucumber, which is why I'm so pleased with last night! I would be thrilled if I ate raw veggies every night instead of sugar loaded with lard. Megan, it's easier to write my food here than FitDay (that's just too much work for me.) I'm glad you like the thread. I hope it keeps me eating cucumbers. Shelly, now I gotta make deviled eggs. That sounds so good right now.

Feeling Blue
Thanks, Marie. Here's the story: About a year ago I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition and was given Levrothyroxine (sp?) that I have to take every day for the rest of my life. But then I lost 60 pounds, so a couple months ago my primary doc gave me blood and urine lab tests to have done. But I shoved them in my wallet and forgot about them till I saw this thread. So I went to the lab first thing this morning and hope to have the results in a few days. Alex & Rebecca, you described my funk - blue, funky, nervous, light headed, etc. I'll let you know when I get the results.

Comments for Before and After Pictures
Oh nooooo, you all made me cry. I'm all chokey-uppy now. THANK YOU ALL MY BESTEST FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! I'm blown away by the picture thread. I walk around telling strangers about Michelle cuz she was just at my house a few months ago and now she's tiny. But then I see Donali and my head spins, but then I see Shelly, then Leatha, then, then, then..... The Band is a true miracle. I've never seen such success in my life. It's a miracle.

Marie, did you answer my thyroid question somewhere? I can't find it.

Bandiversary Challenge Anyone?
Penni, here's a little mini-challenge for ya. We all know you have 12 FREE gym visits. I challenge you to go to the gym 12 times before you do. The gym, the big one, the real one. It doesn't include walking or working out at home. First one that completes the challenge wins. Name MY prize. I'd like an Ipod. I'm gonna win, so just go buy it.

DeLarla, How are You Feeling?
Zoe, Penni started our challenge thread. But if you want to join, you have to post your weight by today. I'm wearing your jeans today, but I probably won't wear them again cuz they're too big in the thighs, boo hoo, how sad is that? Eat my dust, you peachy babe! Zoe, you smell so yummy, when I opened the box, peaches and apricots floated out. Moodey, do a search for "gallbladder" under the search button at the top. You'll probably come up with some good information.

Bandiversary Challenge Anyone?
I forgot to take the pic but I'm 242 today. April 21 is the official date of our final weigh in. Prize is a hundred bucks. If anyone other than me & Penni are doing this, you need to post your weight today. Woof.

Feeling Blue
Uh, excuse me, Marie... are you saying weight loss can affect my thyroid? Cuz I'm on thyroid meds, but I've lost 70 pounds. Should I get my blood tested? Could the meds cause this blue funk I've been in?
-
Feeling Blue
The older I get, the funkier I get. I never had problems with depression in the past. I attribute mine to boredom. I know there's much more I could be doing with my life, but I spend hours and hours on the couch cuz it's where hubby wants me. Not that I do what he says, but he makes life so easy (LAZY) so that's my excuse for laying around. When I get too blue, I clean out closets and throw away clutter and rearrange the house. Or call a friend... call two friends... call ALL your friends. Call me, I'll make you laugh, just ask anyone here!

Bandiversary Challenge Anyone?
All I know is that I've been though WAY THE F TOO MUCH to stop losing here! I'm in a loose 20T. I want to be comfy in a 16 by May 5. Period. Penni, it looks like we have to pick a date 1/2 way between our Bandiversaries and just use weight lost. What do you think? Tomorrow morning weigh in? DIGITAL PICTURES OF THE SCALE NUMBERS. I'm pissed. How could I eat 1/2 gallon ice cream in 2 days. Oh yeah, that's right... it was easy. Could do it again right now. I'm pissed. Bring on the challenge!
