  4. Welcome, and good luck! Keep us posted when you receive approval.
  5. Congratulations!
  6. Liquid diet is mainly protein shakes and some add in fresh veggies. I am on something similar to you. I can eat up to 1100 calories on a high protein/low carb diet. Each surgeon is different so follow what yours recommends.
  7. This is such a great thread to read. Thanks everyone for posting!
  8. Congratulations! I love reading posts like this one!!
  9. You can do this! Just keep your eye on the prize!!
  10. I agree 100% with Dani_NYC, don't worry about the actual amount of weight you are loosing. Follow your diet and the rest will fall in line. Also make sure you are going on the scale around the same time each day. You are going to weigh less first thing then you will in the afternoon after you have ate and drank. Not by much but it will fluctuate.
  11. Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing!
  12. Congrats!!! I have Aetna as well and they re-evaluate every 30 days so keep an eye on that.
  13. I use EAS 100% whey 26 grams of protein. I like the chocolate. My dietitian recommended this brand.
  14. I have a desk job and my surgery will be on a Wednesday. I have chosen to take the rest of that week off plus the week after. I had the vacation time.
  15. I finished day 9 of my 10 day pre-op diet. Tomorrow is the last day before my surgery!!! I'm so excited and yet it seams unreal. This has been a 7 month journey for me and the surgery always seems so far in the future. Even with it being a little over 1 day away it seems so far. Tomorrow I am going to finish laundry, pack my hospital overnight bag, make sure the house is 100% in shape and get ready for the big day!
  16. My program is: 10 day pre-op high Protein low carb. I can eat lean meats and veggies and a serving of fruit per day. 1 week post-op liquid 2 weeks post-op mushies 3 weeks post-op start incorporating solids I have had a wonderful dietitian program with my surgical group. I attended 4 classes total to teach me how to eat after. I feel well prepared.
  17. You're welcome Today was a rough day as far as cravings again but I kept myself distracted. I cleaned the house from top to bottom. During my down time I'm sure my husband and dog will destroy it lol. I also got my post-op shopping done. Distraction works!
  18. Congratulations on your approval! I had a similar situation where I had to change surgeons half way through the pre-op program. I love my new surgeon! I am on a 10 day pre-op diet which is high protein low carb. My last surgeon wanted a 4 week liquid diet so they really are all different. Keep us updated along the way!
  19. Good luck to you tomorrow. Let us know how you are doing after.
  20. I am on day 7 and believe me you can do this! First 2 days were my worst. I was "mourning" the food I did not eat lol! I kept thinking "Why didn't I go to Cracker Barrel last week" or "Man I didn't think of eating Arby's before this". It was horrible but then I got on the scale and saw that I had dropped 4 pounds and I got excited. Now I get on it everyday and it keeps me motivated to see it keep going down.
  21. I use EAS 100% whey powder (big purple container, I purchase it at Target). It is 26 grams of protein. It was recommended by my deietitian. I like the chocolate.
  22. I am the 26th! I have to drive an hour and a half into and out of Chicago for the surgery and I'm just going to take the drive. I would rather get home. I stay in the hosipital one night. Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes!
  23. Contratulations! Good luck on your journey!
  24. Congratulations on reaching your goal!
