  1. Great job!!! I had a similar situation this week where I was standing in my work's breakroom heating up my meal replacement and my only other companion was 5 pizza boxes and powdered donuts. I had to stand there by myself with no other witness and not touch it. I did it and I was so proud of myself when I got back to my desk but wow was I sad while I was in there lol!!
  2. I'm June 26th too! My surgeon suggested 2 weeks and said if I want longer he would write it that way too. He said if I feel well enough sooner I could go back. He is really leaving it up to me. I would talk with your surgeon before and after and ask to return if you feel up to it.
  3. 40 pounds is an amazing accomplishment!!! I have been in the same size closing for many years even though my weight has gone up and up and up probably about 50 pounds. The smaller size will happen. Everyone's body shape is different so where we cary our extra weight varries.
  4. I'm so happy for you! Congratulations and here is to continued success!!!!
  5. You will all do great on the pre-op diet because if I can do it anyone can lol! I have been on mine 7 days and I have lost 7 additional pounds I was forgetting how good it feels to see the number on the scale go down every day. I had a loss of energy but that has come back for the most part. I still struggle a little if I wait too long between meals. I become very grumpy!
  6. Each surgeon is different. My pre-op is a high proteing low carb 10 day diet. I had to switch programs and my old program would have been a 4 week liquid diet wiht my BMI. Follow what your surgeon wants you to do. A pre-op diet shrinks your liver. Your surgeon will know best for you.
  7. My entire immediate family until I had approval. My husband best friend and a few co-workers knew. A few months into my medically monitored weight loss I was sitting around with my family and I brought up a family friend who recently had weight loss surgery and how well she is doing. I got hit from all around with "I would never do that to myself" and "it is taking the easy way out". It confirmed to me it was right to not tell them yet. I told them on mother's day weekend and to my amazement they were all very supportive. My father even told me how proud he was of me. I was amazed!
  8. Glad to hear you are doing well!
  9. Yes it is slow and I haven't been able to access the ap on my phone today either.
  10. Good to hear you are doing well! Wishing you the best on your journey
  11. You will all do great! Good luck!
  12. Thank you Missy for sharing your story. We can all get caught up in life and use it as an excuse but that ultimately gets us nowhere. I'm so glad that you are doing better and I wish you nothing but the best in the continuation of your healing and healthy journey.
  13. Thanky you for sharing your story! I will keep this in mind when I am officially a bandster.
  14. This is where they will take blood work and do the EKG. I had that done last week. It was the easiest part of this entire adventure LOL! I also hear what you are saying about window seats. I'd rather squish myslef over there then stick out into the isle!
  15. I am June 26th, Good luck to you!!
  16. I am June 26th! I'm excited to find you all. I was only finding early June groups and they are so much further than where I am at. I am currently on a 10 day pre-op diet which is high Protein low carb. Basically I start by day with a Protein shake and then lean meat and fresh veggies for the other meals. I have to keep my calories in the 800 to 1,000, protein 80 to 90 grams and carbs no more than 130 grams. Good luck to all of you and I look forward to joining you on your journeys
  17. This really helps my nerves!! I am scheduled for the 26th.
  18. Hi Everyone, So I'm technically June but I'm hoping you'll let me slip into this group lol! All the June groups seem to be from people at the beginning of the month so they are way past where I am. I am scheduled June 26th which is exactly 7 months from when I went to my surgical seminar. I am on day 3 of a 10 day pre-op diet. I don't have to do liquid thank goodness. I am on a high protein/low carb diet. My caloreis have to be wihin 800 - 1100, carbs I can go up to 130 grams and Protein has to be between 80 and 90 grams. I look forward to following your journeys Wendy
