  1. Congratulations on taking the first step! I am a week away from my surgery and I can tell you the time does go fast. I started my journey 7 months ago. You may have requirements from your insurance carrier. Those are what make the time fly by. Good luck and keep us posted!
  2. I'm wishing you the best! My surgery is on the 26th. Let us know how you are doing.
  3. I am on mine for 10 days. I'm currently on day 3 and today is much easier than the first 2. Hopefully I see that continue for the rest of the days! Good luck on your journey!
  4. I'm on day 2 of my 10 day pre-op diet. I am on a high protein low carb. I'm scheduled for June 26th. I drink a protein shake for breakfast, a meal replacement for lunch and I have a lean mean with vegetables for dinner. I can only have 1 serving of fruit per day which is a snack. Good luck with your journey!
  5. It will be 7 months from the surgical seminar and 6 months from the consult with the surgeon. I had my consult in December and my surgery is scheduled for June 26th. I had a 3 month requirement from my insurance but there were a few bumps and it took 1 month to receive approval so the 3 months quickly doubled. My progam would not schedule surgery until I had approval. My biggest pice of advice is just be patient. The time does fly because you are busy with appointments.
  6. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted on how you are feeling after.
  7. I have Aetna and it took exactly 1 month.
  8. Congratulations on your loss so far! I know that self image is a very difficult thing to change. You just need to remember how far you have come in your journey and who you are is not only about a number.
  9. I was on B12 shots for years because I was found to have a B12 deficiencie and it did noting to assist me in loosing weight.
  10. I have my surgery date! June 26th It will be exactly 7 months from when I went to the surgical seminar. I started this journey on November 26th 2012. I'm so happy! Any other June Bandsters out there? Please keep in touch! Wendy
  11. Hi Everyone! I received my approval for Lap Band Surgery yesterday!!! I got teary eyed I was so excited and relieved! I am still waiting to hear from scheduling at the hospital for my date. I have Aetna insurance and my employer has the plan written with specific guidelines I had to follow. Aetna is typically a 6 month medically monitored weight loss requirement however my company was written at 3 months. There is also an RN that works directly with the Bariatric patients for my employer. She has been with me through this and great for answering questions. Thanks to her I knew of my approval before my surgical team heard LOL! She will also follow me for 6 months post op making sure I am following the recommended diet from my surgical program and my overall health after. Half way through my journey I had to switch surgical programs thanks to changes in my insurance plans from 2012 to 2013. I was happy in my old program and I'm equally as happy in the new program. I cannot wait to begin my journey. I have another dietitian class, a 10 day pre op diet and preop testing and then surgery. I'll keep you all posted when I receive my date! Wendy
  12. Awesome job!
  13. Hi Everyone! It has been 2 weeks since my file was submitted to insurance for approval. I received a letter from my insurance company stating that they need additional information which I passed along to the insurance coordinator today. I had to switch programs in the middle of my 3 months of medically monitored weight loss and other insurance requirements due to 2012 and 2013 insurance changes so I'm hoping they get everything they need from both programs. Wish me luck!! Wendy
  14. Great news!!! Good luck with your surgery!
