  2. Go to facebook and join Lapband Divas. There is a lady on there that has those sizes she's not using!
  3. I had to stop the paineds and Ibuprophen and start Tylenol Adult liquid. Feel better!
  4. Welcome! You'll fall in love with everyone here!
  5. So so happy for the both of you! Best decision you ever made! You'll see!
  6. Do not get discouraged if you stop losing weight while on mushies! The band was built to help you lose weight eating solids! You are still healing! It is not until 6-8 weeks post-op that you start getting fills that you will see the weight come off! Also, Water makes a big difference, drink 64 oz a day and exercise! Don't eat over 4 oz.- 3 x a day even if you can and don't snack! ! This is doctors advice and if you follow it, you will lose! Please don't get discouraged, this is the way it is!
  7. I too did not lose much in the post op healing phase! Don't worry, you are on the right track now! Use Fitness Pal and try to use up your daily calorie allowance so that you wont get stuck in a plateau. Works for me!
  8. Dr. Ortiz is a lap band pioneer in Mexico. We must remember that the procedure was done in Mexico before it came to the US. Dr. Ortiz proctored American surgeons such as my doctor Lee Grossbard. I live in Orlando, FL where right now there is much violence and I think that every city has its good and bad areas. Dr Ortiz's office does a good job of taking care of his patients and his clinic is not in a bad area of TJ. I know TJ well because even with insurance I used to go there for medical treatment. There are excellent doctors there!
  9. Dr. DiCicco was my assisting surgeon. Do you see him in Zephyrhills? I saw them there a few times but will follow up in their office in Orlando. It's closer to Oviedo where I live. It is a small world! So how are you doing post op?
  10. Loren, my name is Aly and I too was banded on 12/14 in Tampa at Memorial Hosp. My doctor is Dr. Grossbard!
  11. Great job! Keep up the good work! Yay!
  12. If you cannot ingest at least 1000 calories a day, your body will go into starvation mode and you will not lose weight! I stopped losing because for one week I had 400-500 calories left over every day! I started reaching my minimum caloric intake for a week and I started losing again. I am 3 weeks post op and am down 26 lbs.
  13. Take it from a December bandster, you will all be fine! This is not a bad experience and God has gifted us for all of our suffering and tears! He has heard our prayers and He will see us all through this!
  14. We all go through the same thing! I ate like a piglet the days prior to the start of 2 week liquid diet! It's l mental, a coping mechanism I guess! On my last visit to the doctor prior to surgery, I started the liquids!
  15. You can do this! I have had 8 surgeries, comorbidies and an autoimmune problem but banding has saved my life! I should have done this much sooner! 19 days post op and down 26 pounds!
  16. Great book at Amazon written by Doctors including mine! Awesome book!
  17. I just purchased "Lap Band for Life" for Kindle
  18. Oh yeah, that's what I'm going through right now! I'm always thinking that after not leaving the house for three weeks, no one is going to notice!
  19. It's about 46 right mow in central FL
