Fill rules?
If my doctor wouldn't give me MY medical info, I'd fire him on the spot. Luckily my doctor pioneered the band in the US and is the proctor for the band company! The guy knows!

Sipping, drinking, gulping
Water goes right through. The band does not restrict water! I drink 3 liters a day or 100 ozs.

December 2012 --- Band Buddies Unite!
- anyone have their band tighten on their own?
The band doesn't tighten. It's locked. Our bodies reactions create changes in the gastric lining!- New bandie looking for support :)
The only way to feel better is to walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip and drink peppermint tea for gas! It will get better!- December 2012 --- Band Buddies Unite!
I was banded on 12/14 in Tampa, Fl. By Dr. lee Grossbard. On my eight week mark today and got my first 3 ml. Fill last Monday. Monday I was 254 and after three days of liquids I am today 249. I started out at 290 and all in eight weeks! Down 41 pounds!- On my way to Surgery Center Now..
God bless all of today's bandsters-to-be! Keep us posted you will be fine! Don't fear God is with you!- Any out there from South Florida!
I am from Oviedo, Fl. That's central Fl. But my surgery was done in Tampa by Dr. lee Grossbard with offices in Orlando, Zephyrhills, Pasco, and Tampa.- Is this how the band feels?
Everything you are feeling is normal. You are definitely in bandster hell. It is ugly but bearable. When you get your first fill you will see a difference. Right after surgery you have much restriction all due to swelling, but within a few weeks the swelling goes and you feel like you can eat much more and swallow without chewing so much. You might even complain that the scale doesn't move and maybe gain a few pounds, but when you get your first fill you will start to lose quickly again. I got my first 3 ml fill Monday and I have lose 5 pounds since then. It does get better! Hang on!- A warning about Mexico.
The only doctor I would trust in Tijuana, Mexico is Dr. ariel Ortiz. Very famous, and the pioneer in Mexico. The lapband was first introduced in Europe and then was brought to Mexico by Dr. Ortiz. It was then brought to the US by Dr. lee Grossbard from Zephyrhills, Fl., my doctor!- Getting banded Valentines Day
I found an excellent book on Amazon that is available for Kindle. It's called Lapband for Life by Dr. ariel Ortiz. It is the " everything you always wanted to know" book! Wow what a reference book!- Getting banded Valentines Day
Happy banding day, keep us posted!- Doc not willing 2/c me
I really feel for the girls that have their surgery done in another state for whatever necessary reason. There should be a code of ethics for bariatric doctors to see patients. My doctor is the pioneer for lapband in the US. He was trained by the inventor of the band when the band first left Europe for Mexico. He is Dr. Grossbard of Zephyrhills, Florida, and I had this conversation with him this past Monday. He said to me that he always takes patient for fills and he is always doing repair work for other doctors because it is the patient he cares about! He is a bandster himself! What happened to the Hippocratic oath? I guess the dollar bill speaks louder!- laxative
Miralax is very gentle and safe and non habit forming.- Port site problems
Fluid pockets can form. Please call your doctor!- Bras
I am 8 weeks out and I started wearing my regular bra. I also used a front opening sports bra.- 5 days post op!
Yep! Been there and still am after 8 weeks.- 24 hrs since surgery how much liquid do I drink ???
2 oz an hour! - anyone have their band tighten on their own?
