thank you for your comment about your pregnancy and unfills. I too am newly banded and was terrified was I took a home test and found out I was expecting. My lb pa has put me at ease explaining that im not hurting anything by not waiting a yr to conceive. I thought I was the only one to have done this. I have unfilled a few cc's just as a precaution which has helped tremendously with morning sickness. My ob seems to want to watch me like a hawk. But with both my pregnancies prior to being banded I lost weight in the first two trimesters. Currently Im 9 weeks and haven't gained or lost

I see a few different PAs when I go to the band-office for my appointments. I'm currently 27weeks pregnant / 37weeks banded. I had one PA tell me they have to remove the Fluid at the 3rd trimester and another tell me I don't have to have any Fluid removed unless the baby isn't getting enough nutrients. My OB loves that I have a band and am working to get myself healthy. But of course, her main concern is the baby's health and growth. She said we'll just measure him more often to make sure he's growing properly. If all is well, she's fine w/ me keeping my current restriction level through the whole pregnancy.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
    And CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Oh... and my baby boy is growing just fine. At 25weeks, he was 2lbs already!! The OB is thrilled!
And I haven't gained any baby/pregnancy weight. I've actually lost throughout the entire thing - not trying, just how my body reacts to the smaller portions.

I started with the Crystal Light Peach Ice Tea. Now I have gone to Crystal Light Peach Mango Green Tea, it doesn't have the green tea taste (I don't really like green tea), but it is awesome!!!!! I absolutely love this stuff.

The previous posters are right about lifestyle change, but how many times have we all heard that before. There are those who do manage to do that and I pray you are one of them.
Sorry about your disappointment, things will workout, they always do.
I think it would still be good for you to hang out here for support on your weight loss journey. There's still a lot of good advice and great idea's.

If you asked me 14 months ago if I would be fitting in a size 10 wedding dress that I will need alterations on to make it smaller, I'd laugh at you in my size 22 and say NEVER!
Today, 76 pounds down, thats exactly what happened. I've never felt more beautiful on the outside then right now.
Nine more months untill I marry the man who has loved me for BIGGER or SMALLER the last 13 years.
I'm just so excited that I had to post!

Absolutely AWESOME! I'm so happy for you and proud of you, and I don't even know you. Maybe because I can relate. One of the motivations in my mind is a thin me on my wedding day. No matter that I'm not quite engaged yet, haha. Anyway, GO YOU!!!

I think you need to up your food intake. If you are going to work out that much you need tofuel your body. Sounds like your body is in starvation mode just in my opinion im not a nutritionist. My dr said with Protein Shakes use them as a Meal Replacement. If Im working out then as a snack. Also weighing your food is better than using a cup for measurement. I stick to between 4 and 6 ounces per meal.

Im only a month post op but this is how I see it. Think of it as you need to teach your body to be skinny. After all you taught it to be fat; to want and crave the food and amounts of it. Now its time to teach it that some where between 4 and 8 ounces (depending on your Dr) is ok. You will not die of starvation. Remind your self this is head hunger. Find a distraction to cope whether that's drinking more Water, working out, reach out to a friend/lbt. You can do this meet your band halfway.

I think a lot of us (myself included!) have to learn that just because your stomach is growling doesn't mean you're hungry. After being banded, we hear our stomachs growling and talking and immediately our brains go "Oh, I'm hungry!" But, a lot of the time if we take the time to really think about how we're feeling, we realize we're actually not hungry at all. It's difficult to retrain your mind and the way it reacts to the growling but it's necessary after being banded. A growling stomach simply doesn't always mean hunger anymore once you have the Lap Band.
I'm a year post surgery so I've had considerable time to learn this, it wasn't easy in the beginning though. Now, I'd say I'm actually hungry only 20% of the time my stomach is growling and talking.

Banded 12/21. My stomach growls all the time and makes other rumbling noises. Even drinking Water makes my stomach growl...even though I just ate an hour ago! I don't mind it. However, in the first couple of weeks I kept thinking I was hungry...because we associate a growling stomach with hunger. But I realized there is no way I'm hungry when I've just eaten...I don't even feel hungry. And it does pass. So I chalk it off to digestion and try to roll with it.

It's likely because your stomach is irritated and swollen from the fill.
However, I have to admit, my stomach is pretty dang noisy all the time since being banded.

    Maybeme,
First off, I am very sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my father-in-law to cancer 2 years ago, so I know how stressful that diagnosis is. Don't lose hope, though. Many people do survive it, even stage 4. Just try to stay positive and encouraging, and again, don't lose hope.
It looks like you are doing a wonderful job with your weight loss and staying focused during this stressful time. You should be very proud of yourself. If you ever need someone to talk to about the illness, eating, not eating, hunger, stress, or if you just want to vent or need encouragement, feel free to pm me. This is a wonderful group, and others here have extended the same offer to me, so I am just paying it forward. I will be praying for you and your family.
