  1. We have walked a total of 440.48 miles so far. 13 days left all. Finish strong!
  2. 1/1-1/5 17.67 miles 1/6-1/11 22.93 miles 1/12-1/18 21.23 miles Total: 61.83 I guess I may be a little behind. Time to finish strong! total 40.60 miles
  3. Oh my gosh I know exactly how you feel! That is your mind though. You know that it is really mathematically impossible to not lose weight if you are eating less cal than you are burning. What mushies are you eating? If they consist of a lot of Beans and carbs stuff that may be why but more than likely it is because you are still healing! With each fill it will be easier to stick to your plan BUT you are in for a ride until then. I suggest tracking your food, relaxing as much as possible, and learn to love the process no matter what phase you are in. We are all here to encourage and support. BUT you must stick to the plan and trust your team or we will call you on it! (don't over-think anything either, you will do great)
  4. At 221 today- woohoo!
  5. I would Insit on a fill. I'm due back in 28th jan but I'm going to call and get a fill this week!
  6. I wasn't going to reply to this thread but then I got here. As a friend... This was not a dignified reply and its beneath you. You went from being devils advocate to being the devil. From being right to being dead wrong. There are effective ways of communicating without losing yourself to personal attacks on others. Please take this in the spirit in which it was intended.
  7. WOW! you are ON IT!
  8. 1/1-1/5 17.67 miles 1/6-1/11 22.93 miles total 40.60 miles Woohoo. we are all on track! Great job. Tomorrow goint to do some trails in the hills. cranking out at least 10 tomorrow. so fun!
  9. Well after reading all the replies you seem to have a really good attitude and are taking it all in stride. I'm impressed. The only thing you can do is talk to your surgeon and start over slowly. Also ask about any nutritionists that the dr office may offer for free. I paid for a nutritionist for my preop evaluation but the hospital also has one on staff that offers support for free. I attended their class the day before surgery and have his number on speed dial. He is SO helpful. Tap into your resources and you will be a success.
  10. The people that told you that the band was bad are banded? If they are not then they do not have the experience to advise you. I was banded 10/5 and love it. I feel normal. I am living a healthier me and the results are remarkable. Trust your team of experts to guide you and FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS TO A T!
  11. I average about 850. I also track everything, no processed foods, and I work out 3 times a week min and walk 25 miles a week. Lots of movement to get these lbs off. Damn pizza!
  12. I noticed weight loss stalling while eating frozen meals. ( in the past that is) If you try them but stall in weight loss that may be why. ( side note: beef also has that effect on me) I also never eat lunchmeat. Grilled fish, chicken, turkey and rarely pork. That works for me. Or Gould I say I get good results in the least mount of time and I feel good.
  13. Obese people are deficient in nutrients and vitamins usually. Unlike skinny people, when we are losing a lot of weight we need to make sure we are getting what we need. Blood work ups give a good clue of what we are deficient in. My online vitamins are not bariatric but high quality and pretty stinking cheap.
  14. I believe by definition a slider food is easy to eat and can pack on the weight because it is high in fat and sugar. If a salad goes down easy who cares?!
  15. It's really hard to read about negativity I agree. I found this site after I had my surgery date by accident. I am three months out yesterday. I have lost 52 lbs. I eat 850 cal a day of high quality foods, exercise, and work on my psychological state DAILY. I can eat anything but do not even let "bad" foods cross my lips. It was crazy hard in the beginning with bandster hell. I didn't complain, I just moved my eating around until I could make it work. I knew it would be like this; I was informed beforehand. I also know its probably going to take me three times as long to lose the other 50 I need to lose. I'm prepared! The rest of my journey is about the lifestyle change not the wl. If in the meantime I have a problem with my band I'll deal with it then. I got out of my own way and let the band do its job. I've named my band miniMi and it is helping me be a new mini me ! I'm truly sorry that others haven't had the same experience.
  16. Online at swansons Vitamins or even at costco. There are a lot of opinions out there and everyone is different. I opted for high quality along with value since this is my health we are talking about!
  17. 17.76 miles from 1/1-1/5. Today headed out to do a 6 mile and on mile 3 it started pouring down rain. Ended up doing only 3.76 miles! Great job everyone!!
  18. Until you are in the green zone it is just another diet- so it has been rumored. I hate to tell you but it's not the Fluid in your band that causes you to lose weight but the quantity and quality of what you put in your mouth. I've also heard that once it is removed it takes a while to find the sweet spot even if you have the same amount in as before. If you do not want to gain weight then you will need to stick to the mathematical equation. Eat less calories that what you burn each day. This means knowing how much you burn and tracking what you eat. Lets just call these 5 lbs what they were, holiday lbs and move forward knowing that you are strong enough to work with the limited restriction you have and still lose the weight you want. Best wishes to you!
  19. That is amazing! I will have to keep that in mind for the future. I was approved first time around so I don't need it for this but you never know!
  20. Yes you would know. The term is " slip" but a stitched-in band actually rips out of place and can cause a lot of pain and internal bleeding. Your mind set seems right though. What helped me during this terrible phase was to eat half of my mini meal at a time...I would eat half, go to the bathroom, log my food in to my fitness pal and then return to eat the rest later. This way I was always eating a little bit.
  21. Thanks for clarifying. This process is very interesting to me for obvious reasons.
