  1. I drink red wine on occasion. Good news for me is that it takes very very little to "relax me" 1/4 glass or so. And I can drink it slow and enjoy it better than before the band.
  2. AJ, you got me started on this and man oh man is it good!
  3. I was banded Oct 5th. I remember my throat hurting for days.
  4. I think there is. I have a bad memory but I think her screen name is Mis73.
  5. Find a friend who hates it too but wants to move too. If it weren't for my BFF texting me or visa versa in the morning we both would NEVER exercise.
  6. The night before my surgery my husband flew out emergency to his home country because his mom got sick. I almost canceled my surgery. Instead I took the trip alone and did the best thing I ever did for me. I was surprisingly calm and it felt really good to just concentrating on doing something just for me. You will do great! Xxoo
  7. Mine sounds like a burp and a backwards quack! It kinda hurts too. This usually happens when I have put one bight in too much or if I drink too fast.
  8. Girl that is so awesome! I'm teary eyed for you!
  9. Are you doing preop diet? I added Greek yogurt. Go for Fage or chobani because they have a lot of Protein in it and that will keep you fuller longer.
  10. Talk to your surgical team. They sometimes have different thoughts than the NUT. Having said that, this is called bandsters hell. you will be hungry for a while. Embrace it! It sucks but as you get fills it gets a lot easier.
  11. I'm 5 months post op today and I almost forgot about the gas until I saw this thread. It is by far the worse part of this journey so far. It also it the part the the surgeons mention the least. The gas isn't in your intestines. It's what they use to blow up your abdomen so they can work on you laparoscopically. Did you know they did that? i sure didn't! The remaining gas can only be removed as it dissipates through your skin tissue. GasX never worked for me. Moving and heat did. Great news is that it will go away deepening on how much you move between 4-10 days.
  12. I feel fatigued and ache when I am dehydrated. Only a sf Gatorade will get me out of it once I let it get that bad. Since you've ruled out with your dr almost everything else I thought I'd chime in.
  13. Patience is the key. Also, this journey is not about losing weight right out of surgery. It's about living a healthy lifestyle. The weight comes off on its own. So my device is to get out of the way and let the band and your dr do their jobs. You will be amazed. I'm 5 months out tomorrow and I can gulp liquids, eat big bites, eat a lot of food, be hungry after 1 hr, but.... I sip, eat small bites, portion food out to 1c and 850 cal a day, and work on moving more. I've been really successful. Can't wait to feel the fill. I haven't updated my ticker yet. Last fill was feb 25. I have 7 ccs in the realize band (14cc) and I'm 212 today. (From 276) Good luck to you!
  14. I blended spinach then I layered it with spaghetti sauce and ricotta cheese and heated it in the microwave. It's like lasagne filling I also substituted canned pumpkin for the spinach and added nutmeg salt and pepper. Tastes like pumpkin ravioli s. And I added favor free Protein powder from
  15. I have the realize band also. I got to chose. I was banded 10/5/12. I've had great results so far.
  16. After day 4 it gets easier. Looking back I can't believe i made it through. So glad I did though. I'm 4 1/2 months out and I'm 62 lbs down. Boo yah! You can do it. This is the beginning to your success story!
  17. Big hug to you Dee! So proud!
