  1. I don't know but they do sell low sodium soy sauce. You can add it to your list of yummy recipes.
  2. A FB friend just posted this and it sounds wonderful. 1-cup of pineapple juice 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (I would use Splenda brown sugar) 1/3 cup light soy sauce 2 lbs. chicken tenderloins put in crock pot for 6-8 hours on low they should fall apart :rolleyes:this sounds like 8 meals for a LB person
  3. I buy Body Fortress at Walmart for around $16.ish. I only drink chocolate. I use 8oz skim milk, 2 scoops of the protein, a little decaf instant coffee, some peppermint extract and lots of ice and I make a super thick shake. I have been drinking them for one year now. I was banded in July. This is my only breakfast and I love them. Some companies send out sample packs. Bariatric Advantage gives out samples, they are very expensive but good. I use their vitamins and minerals, all chewables.
  4. I have 2 Hamilton Beach small blenders. They double as your drinking cup. They are around $15-$20. at Walmart, Target etc. I fit into it 8oz of milk, 2 scoops of protein powder and the rest are tiny ice cubes and I make a very thick shake. I have been drinking these for 1 year but my band was July. Good luck with your choices.
  5. Call your pharmacy. They can help and also your doctor. I take liquid Colace every day and you would be surprised at all the things that come in liquid form. I was at the nursing home one day when I saw a nurse with a pill crusher. I need knee pain pills but I am too stubborn to ask. I use to take Vicadens (excuse spelling) 2-3 times a day,
  6. Maybe try eating 4-6 smaller meals spread over the whole day instead of 3 main meals. I just had watermelon for an afternoon snack and it was perfect. I also love Edy's SF Popsicles. I snack on almonds (high calories) but filling. About 1 hour before my dinner I have a large salad but I eat dinner at 7-8pm. Also, call you dietitian for help.
  7. I am sorry your husband isn't behind you. Does he think the new you, thinner, is going to leave him? Maybe talk to someone at your doctor's office about how to handle the spouse or bring it up at your monthly support meeting. At my monthly meeting one man said he has a non-supporting wife, after I introduced my supportive husband. You also hear stories how people marry 'a large person' and then that 'large person' gets fit, lose weight and the spouse doesn't want them anymore. Have you talked to your husband about this? I wish you luck with this. We are all here to listen and we try to help each other with these problems.
  8. Jim-super job!! Your numbers are amazing. Some day I hope to find the 'green zone' too.
  9. I get the hiccups all the time for no reason. Sometimes I get them first thing in the morning before I get out of bed., I can't explain it.
  10. I am doing great. First I am older, was 61 1/2 at the surgery and have been over weight most of my adult life. The Band was the best thing I ever did. I have had 3 fills for a total of about 2 1/2 cc. I try to go to the gym 4-6 times a week. I am losing each month and lots of inches. Some people lose faster than others. One thing I never did was take before measurements and before pictures.
  11. I wish you a lot of luck with your new journey. This site is great to learn the good/the bad and the whatevers. Just ask any question and someone in LBT ville will try to help with the right answers.
  12. Congratulations!!!!!!!! Welcome to the beginning of the new you.
  13. Every doctor and hospital have their own rules etc. After my psych I had the dietitian 3 times, an upper GI, sleep test and I don't recall what else. Like I said everyone does different things. Good luck with starting your journey.
  14. I have a protein shake with 2 scoops of powder every morning and I can go 4-6 hours before getting hungry. I have me dinner salad about 1 hour before dinner so that I get my veggies in and 4 oz of protein for dinner is perfect. The other night had dinner out, ate too much and I felt like crap. I had loud burps for about 1 hour because of that. You do learn what is right and wrong fast. Good luck, you will do well if you follow your doctor and dietitian's rules. Every one of them have different rules, too.
  15. I looked like that too. I would say its normal. Any questions call your doctor if you think it's really bad. Good luck.

Congratulations on 1 year! and to a wonderful weight loss. There is hope for me. I always wanted to try Zumba and I am afraid. My knees are shot and the back is gone. Is this a bad thing to try?
  17. A wonderful story to share, thank you. I feel very happy that you decided to get help, The Band. Best thing I ever did. I hope you continue to write on this site, you write very well. Good luck with your new journey.
  18. I was given Zantec (liquid) for one month, Colace (liquid) still use that daily and liquid Percoset (excuse spelling). I was told never again any thing with aspirin in it it does something to the band. Ask your doctor for stronger meds, they are needed for a few days anyway. Good luck.
  19. I bought a Fitbit and record my food and activities. I love it. I wear it every day. Some people use fitness pal (I think that is what it is called) and that is free.
  20. I just started the Neutrogena one about a week ago. My doctor told me to try it. I did try the CVS one a few months ago and it made me itchie around the eyes so I returned it. If I ever have the money, face lift, body lift and arms get done. So you have pain for a few weeks but you come out looking great, or I hope you do.
  21. you look amazing. Good for you.
  22. When you get an answer, tell me too. I am 62 and it really bothers me. My whole body is getting wrinkles from too much skin.
  23. I forgot I had the injections, too but they didn't work at all. Also, the lower back I have no cushions between the discs. A few days before the band I had an ex-ray of my back because of more pain and my PCP said from arthritis I have crumbing discs, how fun is all this? The 2 of us sound 90!! it is amazing that we both have similar problems and can't do the same machines at the gym. Be well and enjoy the weekend. Arlene
  24. That was very nice and true about how most doctors don't know the real back ground. Do I get to blame my skiing on my bad knee? I didn't start until I was 40 but quit after about 5-7 years. I did have surgery on the knee and I do not want to replace it. Yesterday and today the pain is about an 8. Because of the knee at the gym I can only do the bike. I can't do a tread mill (PT said no to that) and the elliptical kills the left knee after 2 minutes on the lowest. take care of your back and knees.
