  1. (Hit wrong key) also... If this is isn't i don't know what hard is. It's not easy at all,it's a BIG lifestyle change!!
  2. I didn't tell my dad i was having wls until i had returned from mexico with it done! He didn't have much to say...He ALWAYS has something negative to say so i chose not to tell him. I told my mom because she is understanding (& obese), she was behind me, but just concerned...I think once you start losing and are healthier they will see and come to terms with itl. You have to do what YOU think is right and educate them on the sleeve...

Keep it going! I chose walking/running as my exercise and stretching of course...Kinda in limbo only walking since surgery...
  4. I would have taken off longer if i could but the first week i was off i was in Mexico, so that only left me one week to recover...I would recommend taking as much time off as a person can to recover. This was just all i could take off...
  5. I think you made a good decision. Please keep intouch and keep us posted! Hope you get your date soon!

  11. The same idiot at work that told me (Down the hall loudly) that i was getting fat, said the other day: "look at me i'm still skinnier than you and you had surgery" Duh! ya thinks so dufus I just am 9 days out from surgery...

  16. Hi, I was sleeved on the 28th and am also a nurse! I went back to work on the recovery unit yesterday, off today. It went okay, No lifing, pulling etc yet of course. I got pretty fatigued and have a weak episode every now and then but these are becoming less frequent. Resting today as i have to work tomorrow.(weird schedule i know, we're in process of orientating some new nurses and having to have screwed up schedule). I hope we keep in touch. My sutures come out tomorrow. Have follow up apptmnt. with Dr. Swain Monday.... Down 14 lbs i'm tickled to death about that!!!! Keep in touch!Sounds like you're doing 'bout the same....
  17. I really screwed up those posts LOL! Hope you can make some sense out of it...
  18. Whoops hit wrong key, well anyways i'm a vegetarian for the most part. I do like a good steak though. But that's only if we go out to eat. and that's only 1 time a month usually. Other than that i do not eat meat. I LOVE LOVE LOVE peanut butter. Can you eat peanut butter after the sleeve? I hope not... I don't need it. I was just wondering LOL!
  19. Yes, it wasn't bad at all... I had to say "No" when a cna asked for help (I usually help them alot), so it was kinda weird. But i will NOT injure myself or my sleeve for anything...I have little episodes where i feel a little weak, but it passes pretty quickly. IThese are coming less frequent each \day. Decided i need to really take it easy today. I can't believe i'm down 13.8 lbs already! I feel for sure now that i did the right thing. I'm taking in about 75g/day of protein through shakes/powder...My body is not use to this much protein! I'm eating better now than i did before surgery. My thing was CARBS....I'm a vegetarian for the most part. Love peanut butter...
  20. Welcome! I was going to have lap-band until 45 min before surgery my surgeon talked me into VSG. I'm ssoooo glad he did. I wanted to switch over to VSG but felt obligated to have lapband as i had already started the process. I'm 9 days post op and am down 14 lbs. D oubt if i had lap band if it would be this amount...You made a good choice and won't regret it...Good luck and keep in touch!
  21. TOday is day 9 out and ihave lost 14 lbs (actually 13.8) and i am thrilled. My running shorts actually fit now like they should... I went back to work yesterday, did okay, i'm a nurse, i didin't have to lift on anyone or anything so i was able to perform all my duties ( i normally do help the CNA's with lifting but for a while i will not). I got a little tired but that's not unusual either, i work 12 hour shifts. Overall i say i was ready to go back to work... I'm off today and work again tomorrow. Was glad to be off today. Sutures come out tomorrow. It hink they're all ready except for the one up by my tatas LOL. It is moist still and not scabbed. I'm keeping a drsng on it normally but today have it uncovered to get it to dry out Thanks for reading my jumbled thoughts, have to go for my walk now......
  22. 9 days out, doing clears, and baby cereal with Unjury protein p owder. Taking in atleast 72g protein/day...I've lost 11 lbs since beginning of preop diet which was only 3 days...
  23. Sleeved aug 28th 2012 and am experiencing the same thing!
  24. I'm so glad you're having the surgery you won't be sorry. Yes they lock up your luggage/purse while you have surgery in a room and label it with your name etc 1st thing. The staff if very trustworthy. The building is kept locked at all times, they have to buzz to get in the building... I felt very safe.
  25. I weighed this am and have lost 11lbs since 1 wk before surgery (2 weeks ago)! I'm thrilled. I can tell my pants are looser and upper abd less puffy! Yay for me!
