9 Days Post-Op Down 14 Lbs This Morning!

TOday is day 9 out and ihave lost 14 lbs (actually 13.8) and i am thrilled. My running shorts actually fit now like they should... I went back to work yesterday, did okay, i'm a nurse, i didin't have to lift on anyone or anything so i was able to perform all my duties ( i normally do help the CNA's with lifting but for a while i will not). I got a little tired but that's not unusual either, i work 12 hour shifts. Overall i say i was ready to go back to work... I'm off today and work again tomorrow. Was glad to be off today. Sutures come out tomorrow. It hink they're all ready except for the one up by my tatas LOL. It is moist still and not scabbed. I'm keeping a drsng on it normally but today have it uncovered to get it to dry out Thanks for reading my jumbled thoughts, have to go for my walk now......

You went to work nursing 9 days out from surgery? Wow. I would not have been ready to go back that soon. I waited four weeks til I went back, and then two more weeks until nursing school started again =) I was worried about being ready.

Congratulations on your loss! It sounds like you're doing awesome. Don't push yourself too hard - you deserve a little rest.

Yes, it wasn't bad at all... I had to say "No" when a cna asked for help (I usually help them alot), so it was kinda weird. But i will NOT injure myself or my sleeve for anything...I have little episodes where i feel a little weak, but it passes pretty quickly. IThese are coming less frequent each \day. Decided i need to really take it easy today. I can't believe i'm down 13.8 lbs already! I feel for sure now that i did the right thing. I'm taking in about 75g/day of protein through shakes/powder...My body is not use to this much protein! I'm eating better now than i did before surgery. My thing was CARBS....I'm a vegetarian for the most part. Love peanut butter...

Whoops hit wrong key, well anyways i'm a vegetarian for the most part. I do like a good steak though. But that's only if we go out to eat. and that's only 1 time a month usually. Other than that i do not eat meat. I LOVE LOVE LOVE peanut butter. Can you eat peanut butter after the sleeve? I hope not... I don't need it. I was just wondering LOL!

Wow, 9 days out thats really great. I'm a nurse as well, but think I will stay out at least 2 wks/10 working days. I have to pull and lift alot in my area ( OR). I didnt tell anyone I was having this done at work, so I don't normally get much help on regular days and not expecting much when I get back either.

How do you fit in your meals as we are supposed to sip, sip, sip all day? This is one of my biggest concerns as I hardly get lunch relief, and usually end up eating in the car on the ride home.....

I go back to work on 9/12 so it will be 15 days post op...

I would have taken off longer if i could but the first week i was off i was in Mexico, so that only left me one week to recover...I would recommend taking as much time off as a person can to recover. This was just all i could take off...
