I feel like i'm ready to go to work, and my drain is already out. It came out day 3. I can get by without any physical straining activity at my job. I had it okay'd with the DON. I can't afford to take off more than 2 weeks. I had to take off to go have the surgery done in mexico....But i feel good. I've been going for walks, doing light housework, no lifting of course for 4-6 weeks...

it is not unusual to have a "Let-down" period and or depression after surgery of any kind. But going to a psychiatrist is always a good decision if you feel like you need it. We All could use a psychiatrist truth be known... I'm 5 days out and i'm having a jet-lagged, let-down period that started yesterday...I think it will lift when i'm feeling better. I went for a few short walks yesterday and today and it helped alot. Trying to gain support from family/friends/and these forums...Hang in there it will lift soon hopefully...

I had a breakdown point on the pre-op as well. Had dorito's and pepperjack cheese one night, naked at 300am. LOL!

I'm 5 days post op was your surgery the 27th? I'm doing well too i think. Sounds like you're doing great. Let's keep in touch! I'm only having some incisional pain and a weird feeling in my stomach. Doing clear liquids still...

I'm five days post-op so i'm craving creamy stuff even. Still doing clear liquids! But that lobster tail sounds great. I get what you're saying totally....

Can you add some lemon juice to your water? Might help some. Use bottled water it's more refreshing...

So I was scheduled to have lap-band surgery Aug 28th with Dr. Almanza 45 min before the procedure they asked me if I wanted to change to VSG and i said YES! I had thought of changing but thought I was obligated (and had only paid) for the lap-band. They recommended the VSG over lap-band very highly and I changed to VSG. I'm glad i did, and am glad they let me. The experience there was great. I didin't get to stay at the recovery house (remodelling) but the clinica was exceptionally clean, staff was VERY attentive (i'm a RN) and i was very impressed with the care and cleanliness of the facilities. It's not fancy mind you, but it was a very good experience. Close and personal care is what i received. Never got in severe pain post op, meds brought every 4 hours on the money every-time... I would recommend this facility and Dr. Almanza to anyone who is considering VSG. THanks for reading my jumbled thoughts, kinda tired will post more some other time on the experience...

YAY for you. Just had surgery tuesday 28th doing great. Very little incisional discomfort now. No gas discomfort at all.

Having surgery aug. 28th with dr almanza was wondering if he had to repair hiatal hernia if he included this in the price (probably not i'm sure), and if not did you have to pay for it then? or would you be billed?

Hi, I'm having lap-band surgery August 28th 2012 wit Dr. Almanza. I'm trying to find someone who's having surgery on that day. I'm a member on lapbandtalk.com but couldn't find anyone with the same date for wls. Just thought it would be good to find someone to know a little before going as i'm going by myself. My best friend will be staying in San Diego that night to prevent her from having to get a passport just so that she could sit and watch me sleep, probably... Take care and good luck to all of you!
