  1. Hah hah ya'll are funny. I don't balance anything, I just make sure I always have X amount in the account.. and we're always way above that. Only time I write checks is for bills that I couldn't sign up for auto-deduction.. and I use my debit card when I go out.
  2. Sister & her gf broke up last night. Tried to invite her to lunch today, she's being all mopey.. which really is odd, cause due to her gf's personality I don't see how she ever liked her to begin with, and when she got sober (for a minute) she didn't like her.. but she can't be single some reason.. I'm sure she'll be engaged again by next week.
  3. Mine is right under the skin so I can feel every spot of it in detail.. but mine is in my chest, so I can't answer about the port showing, mine won't be changing! If your port does pop out, you could always tell your husband that it's the baby's foot and it likes to stretch a lot... just kidding.. kind of.
  4. I'm 16 weeks and I still have no signs of pregnancy.. so.. don't feel bad!! I feel fat when I push on my belly, and no kicks or anything exciting. I am also 6'0 and due to my first trimester weight gain (ahem) I am back to needing to lose 50lbs.
  5. LOL ya'll are too funny. S word is good for you= protein!!!!! :smile2: :tongue2: Haydee- Not sure actually! Maybe I misunderstood, or since she had a few beers she was just rambling. We went to this Mexican restaurant (for margaritas) and she is white chili (blonde hair blue eyed mexican, for those who don't know) with a big ol' southern accent. So she is asking the waiter about something I didn't understand.. it was not on the menu, yet they had it-- sausage, eggs, and somethin.. I tried it, it was pretty spicy. So she was saying mexican breakfasts are awesome--then told us about this thing. So she made it this morning so we could all try it. I could add she's an extremely blonde blonde, the blonde jokes were made for her. She didn't know who McCain was about a week ago when I was talking to her. She also believes you can get pregnant from oral sex. So mexican breakfast could just mean any breakfast with meat (in her mind). I am black listing a lot of places these days. No more chic-fil-a with the nasty flavors.. and I have realized I no longer like chinese food. It's been a long time coming, I use to love it-- but my taste for it has been gone for a while.. the place I loved as a kid, Russell likes it and everytime we go I hate it more and more. TGIF's had that awesome bacon-wrapped shrimp, but since the day they undercooked it (raw shrimp, uggggh), TGIF's makes me queasy to even think about going there. I need new places to eat for lunch. Cracker Barrel on the other hand, we go there every Wed. night and I normally get the same few things.. with my fish craze I got their broiled catfish one week and it was phenomenal!! So I was getting tired of their food, and now I like em again. Rambling.. trying to pass time, it's been a weird day here.
  6. That's sweet Judy :smile2: My mom realized today that her big 5-0 is next year. Dun dun dun. They celebrated their 31st anniversary this year, I wanted to throw them a party for the 30th, but she said since everyone she knows is divorced, it's like bragging party and she'd feel bad.. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is my granny's gravy.. with giblets and all that fun gross stuff in it. It is so good, I eat it like a soup.. shh, yeah I'm weird. And dark meat turkey.. mmm.. can't buy it like that.
  7. Tracy, the one we always make is a version of the popular ones online you can find.. but they use cream of mushroom, and my mom hates mushrooms so we have always used cream of celery in it. So maybe I am bias, but I think it's good like that. Can of green beans drained, can of cream of celery, 1/2 can of milk..mix together, top with the onions and bake for 30 minutes(ish) at 350. Chic-fil-a jumped the shark with their 'new recipe' :smile2: :tongue2: I am so sad!! I don't like chicken, but I love chic-fil-a. I rarely eat there due to russ being allergic to peanut oil (edit typo!).. but I told ya'll I went there the other night for a salad.. well, I ended up not eating the chicken cause it tasted funky. I thought it was a pregnancy thing. I got it again today for lunch, and I made a comment to Russ about it tasting weird (we went to the one in the mall so he could get chinese) and he pointed out the sign said "New recipe!" on the chicken strips. What the hell?! People love chic-fil-a, why would they change the recipe?!?! Why not just have "Try our new style" or something so us folks who don't want a new recipe can still enjoy it :wink5: He told me it was on almost everything on the menu ("New recipe"). Anyway, not really thrilled about that since I've been wanting their salads. Haydee my friend gave me the recipe-- Sausage Squares You will need 1 casserole dish 2 lbs of sausage 1 box of original cream cheese 4 – 5 crescent rolls pending on size of dish Preheat oven to 375 Brown sausage Layer bottom of casserole dish w/ 2 cans of rolls (like a pie crust) Drain sausage Stir cream cheese into sausage Spoon sausage mixture into dish Lay the remaining rolls on top of sausage mix and press outer edges together. Bake for 11 – 13 minutes. Best served when cooled.
  8. I just say count your blessings, I've gained 17lbs in the first 3 months (No morning sickness) and I'm not even showing yet..
  9. That's what I was wondering Haydee, looks like we could change the color. We watched McCain speak to congratulate Obama, and all the crowd was yelling out stuff and Boo'ing everytime he said Obama or Biden. Was real surprising. I wanted McCain to win too, but this isn't like a football game.. Anyway, time to start hoarding money!! My friend brought in some mexican breakfast this morning. We went to a restaurant last night and she was talking about this mexican b'fast, so she said she'd make it for today. It was good, I've actually made something similar before but mine was too cream cheesy and too rich to eat. It's just sausage and cream cheese in a crust. Was so good, one tiny square was great.. little rough going down but I managed. And because I managed, I had to get another piece?! Now I'm PBing.. wee.
  10. Was talking to Russ about reporting it, etc.. and he agrees I should call, he said he didn't realize they didn't card me or he would have said something (I noticed if you used a driver's license they copied a lot of info--which took a while).. for me, they just took my registration postcard and let me through. So, guess I call tomorrow. He and I are camped out with laptops in the living room watching to see who our next president is. And I want to say, even if Obama wins--wish is not my wish-- I am a patriotic person, and will support him as prez
  11. If I call and report though, will that mean they'll say there was some fraud goin on and blah blah and our votes won't count at that station? :/
  12. What makes me more upset, is that I got absentee ballots from New Mexico. 2 of them. One for each address I use to live at in NM. And I register everytime I move. So it's like they don't keep a trail, yet SOMEHOW they knew how to find me in Alabama?! I still don't understand how it happened. One of the ballots even had my married name. I registered when we moved to Alabama, I changed registration when we moved in Alabama, I changed registration again when I got married. So I technically could have voted twice in NM, and once in AL.. That's--sad. I'm an honest person who wouldn't do that, but think of all the people out there that will take advantage of this.
  13. That's weird, I still haven't seen them.
  14. Haydee- Oh jeez I hope not!! LOL Terry- I been a mod for over a month lol. I voted this morning! The line was about 2 hours long. Hot, hard floor.. toward the last 30m, I started getting dizzy & light headed. My back was hurting, and nothing to lean on (they wound us back and forth 5 times in the lobby of a church--line started way out in the parking lot). I started seeing spots, ears were ringing and I was getting clammy. I thought ah damn, I'm gonna be in the news, the pregnant woman who passes out from her dedication to vote lol. I kept having to squat (and draw attention) to try to center myself. An hour into it a woman comes out to announce, if you vote here for (something) you may not vote here for this, if you live south of (some road I never heard of) you are in the right area. So I said Uh.. where is that! So she looked at my card and said I was in the right spot. Thank goodness. Now get this, I locked my purse in my car last night. Around 11pm my mom goes 'Do you have your license to vote?' DARN! No.. so she said what about SS card.. nope, in my car! So I tried to find my passport, took almost an hour to find it.. I couldn't remember where we put them and sure enough it was in my important papers folder--which I thought I had looked in. Then I couldn't find my voter card and someone on tv was saying you HAD to have it, so killed myself to find that too. Ironically, they didn't ask for ID. Finally made it out alive, but geez.. was not fun. My mom was texting me, their voting place only took 30 minutes.. she kept texting 'THIS IS A PRIVELEGE, BUCK IT UP!'.. heh!!!!!!! Now I'm at work, trying to get over the queasyness..
  15. So I have to know, are you having a boy??
  16. What are you talking about? I haven't seen any banners about the No. 8.. (Gay marriage thing, right?)
  17. Banded at 23, and would have done it when I was 12 if they had it.
  18. I got really tight right out of the gate, which all went away. Head changes though, wow. The ounce of will power I use to be able to muster.. it's gone.. gone gone gone.
  19. Yeah but.. I'm more offended by a man (Obama) that thinks it's ok to kill innocent babies in the womb.. and you're pointing fingers at the guy who cusses? Cussing never killed innocent babies.
  20. My doctor was much more into Rny than Band (He himself had RnY) but as a doctor in knowledge and bed-side manners I fell in love with him. He respected my decision to go with the band, but he did his fair share of saying why he prefers RnY & thought I would benefit more going that road. I was very optimistic about the band regardless, and his nurse said she thinks I made a good candidate with that attitude. I lost 120lbs in 1.5 years, and now I'm pregnant and have gained back 17lbs so far (argh), but the band has made my weight loss pretty effortless as long as I got my fills & didn't eat slider foods. I am still optimistic once I have my baby, I will be able to take the weight off I am gaining, and finish getting to goal. I was 30lbs from goal when I found out I was pregnant. That being said, it's not for everyone. I know of another girl I've run into at his office during appointments, she's around my age.. banded 2 months before me and when I had lost 70lbs, she was gushing about having lost 10lbs (I guess this was somewhere around 8 months post op for me, 10 months post op for her). I don't know what she was doing different, but it's true that it can.. "not work" for some.
  21. Risks of having it before are pretty standard.. gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, etc.. all the risks that come with an overweight pregnancy. Not really sure how to answer you, that's a personal decision. I personally wanted to wait till I lost weight-- I was crippled with back pain due to being overweight, and that was no way to be pregnant! I also was lucky not to have diabetes already and was pretty scared I would get the gestational diabetes. My doc said for RnY it is dangerous for babies early on due to malnutrition, and he has experienced many women having miscarriages due to this. Banders don't have this risk, but we have a lot of mental adjusting to do with the band. Re-learning how to eat healthy and conquer our demons. This also is not the best time to be pregnant. My doc said for banders, he prefers 1 year out. Some people's docs say no time, some say 2 years.. it varies. My opinion, because it's what I did, is to wait till post-band, post-decent weight loss, and when you've come to understand how the band is working in your body before introducing something new like.. a baby. Risks of pregnancy & band.. I think slippage, from being too tight or morning sickness. These are important things for you to ask your band doc, and obgyn. Then make the best decision for you.
  22. Just got back from chic-fil-a, stayin at work till 7pm to go to a movie.. Decided to go get a salad, I love their salads w/honey mustard. So I go, almost get in a wreck cause traffic is ridiculous and this old lady (I cursed her out) wouldn't move her damn car so I could finish my u-turn into the turn lane.. Then I order my salad, she repeats it back.. I ask if the dressing is in there, guy said yup. I get back to work, LOCK MY KEYS IN MY CAR (for crying out loud) and then realize he gave me RANCH. I am just livid. LIVID. Really, I am flipping out. If I hadn't locked my keys in the car, I'd go back over there to cuss the kid out. Hormonal, or I just love my food? :/ Buttermilk ranch, gross. Now what? I was really craving their salad. Heard a wreck on the radio on the exit we take home, so I called Russell to make sure he wasn't in that wreck.. he wasn't, and at that moment I realized the dressing fiasco and was flipping out so he goes "Uhm.. ok, well, I'm ok..so I'm going to go now" heh. Going to have to get a ride with my parents and have Russ unlock my car tomorrow. Bummer, means I have to drive in rush hour tomorrow. I haaaaaate driving in rush hour, I don't do it anymore since I ride to work with Russell. If I have to bring my car for some reason (like doc today) I find ways not to have to drive home during it.. like staying at work till I go to the movie. Wah. Mom said it's the bovine syndrome (that I think she made up about pregnant women).
  23. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxhYampIl7A]YouTube - BTW I'm Voting For Mccain / Palin[/ame]
  24. Our zones are small luckily, the county line road we we live on, half of us vote at the fire house on our road, other half at a church on the same road.. so shouldn't be that many people. Russ & I are voting tomorrow. YAY! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxhYampIl7A]YouTube - BTW I'm Voting For Mccain / Palin[/ame]
