  1. I only sweat (to any sort of extent) on the bridge of my nose, but I almost always did it, which made it a pain to keep my glasses up. Now I am always cold too! I like it  I can't remember the last time I broke into a sweat. Crossing my legs is a biggie, and fitting into the ridiculously small seats at musicals & plays. My main reason really was a health thing, the crippling lower back pain I had for years.. I forgot what being able to walk 20ft without pain was like.. so I love walking around grocery stores, parking far away from places, or even when we went to Vegas for our wedding a few months post-op, it was the first time I'd been to Vegas since a bad episode I had there where I collapsed on the floor in the middle of the Forum and bawled asking my husband to just leave me there because I couldn't walk anymore.. and when we were there for the wedding, 115 degrees and all I walked for miles around the strip without batting an eye. That was a beautiful moment for me and made the band worth it right then & there.
  2. Michelle- I am actually in the same boat with you! I use to have horrible reflux, I took Prilosec OTC.. then after losing a certain amount of weight, reflux went away (YAY), but now with pregnancy I noticed it coming back.. Friday night I woke up every hour, burping and burning. Nothing would ever come up, but it felt horrible..and I kept thinking, all this acid is sitting around my band, please don't erode!! I took some Tums (can't take Prilosec while pregnant  ) which don't do much for me. Ahh Monday morning, customers with impossible requests right before the holidays. Gotta love it.
  3. Pam that sounds beautiful! Denise he is adorable  I like looking at babies these days! Luckily Russ was only sick for the day and I didn't catch it! I am going to Mannheim Steamroller tonight, very excited. Just finished curling my hair and I'm in my robe.. wanted to pop in and see what ya'll are doing. Weekends go by way too quick, I sleep them away it seems. Nursery was never cleared out since Russ' bro never came back, argh.. my mom said she'd come help, I told her no.. and she is insisting.. she has a rod in her neck and chronic pain that came back, I'm not letting her help move furniture!
  4. It's gorgeous out here today too. Was 18 degrees last night, 60 today. Russ' brother came this weekend to help move furniture so we have a nursery, and they didn't start yet. This morning he said he needed to go home (but would be back) to take his girlfriend to work.. 2 hours away? He never came back, so I told Russ it must be an excuse to leave or something, but it was very bizarre. He got here late, ate pizza, passed out, and then this morning he left. He's not answering his phone now, I wonder if Russ said something to him when I wasn't here yesterday or something. Anyway, just got back from Walmart, did my Angel tree shopping.. wow, I hate Walmart during the holidays. Long line, and I got an easy bake oven for one of the angels and this seemingly drunkard behind me wouldn't stop talking about it.. I asked Russ if we can start moving furniture, I'll help him as best I can.. he said he's waiting to hear from his bro, if he doesn't call he will ask my brother to come next weekend to do it. Argh, put off another week.. AND my brother in my house (I hate that) AND asking my brother to do anything (hate this even more). We'll be indebted and he'll expect me to pay him or something.
  5. ((Pam & Denise)) Sorry I don't have anything beautiful to say, but know you're both in my thoughts.
  6. No text for me  :w00t: :tt1: We went to Mexican for lunch.. got a dinner plate, and ate 2 bites lol. Was 2 enchiladas, a tamale, and a chili relleno. Sounded really good, then all I wanted was the chips & cheese. Got the rest to-go for my little par-tay with buddies tonight.. they ordering a pizza, and I wasn't going to tell them not to, so just bringing my own food. I hate pizza, it's weird how my whole life that's the go-to food for parties and gatherings.. yuck!
  7. I never had PCOS, but I know I was infertile.. I thought it had to do with my pelvic kidney, or just the way my cards were dealt.. I was suppose to start fertility testing stuff this year, and hadn't gotten to it yet... when voila I was pregnant. So the band definitely had something to do with that, must have been weight keeping me from being fertile before.
  8. I can do this too actually.. if I suck in my gut, then lift up my pannis.. I can see the bump I would have, if I didn't have a flabby belly.
  9. I think it's normal if you haven't had a swallow since banding.
  10. I rarely get starbucks, but when I do.. Hot Chocolate everytime.. Num num num. Theirs is the best.
  11. Right, they can't remove your band if you break the agreement. And in all actuality, it may be a liability thing. That's what accutane agreement was for (and because it can cause major deformities), so that in case you did get pregnant, you had no chance of saying you didn't know, or couldn't get a doctor in trouble for malpractice for any complications resulting in pregnancy + (band or med,etc.).

How hard would it be to get a new job you'd be happy with? Vent away
  13. It was 30's this morning, and suppose to be 18 (they said eighteen!!) tonight. I am going to a friend's tonight for a girls night out. Glad the heater in our cars work fantabulous. TGIF!! I weighed myself last night, still 229lb. YAAAAAAAAAAY. I have stalled for a month now, that makes me happy to no end. If I can keep this up by my next obgyn appt. I may save getting a lecture, especially in front of Russell.
  14. The last baby shower I bought for, I browsed her registry but I ended up picking out a super cute outfit I found somewhere else just because I liked it more lol. I don't like creating registries, and I don't like passing them out.. the one time I actually bought off a registry was a friend's brother and his wife-to-be had expensive taste and her registry items minimum cost was $80.. I didn't think my usual target gift was going to live up to her expectations, so we bought something for $80 that was an add-on to something that was more expensive. I think that was more a reflection on them, not having a realistic registry.. anyway.. so I guess point is, I don't like registries.
  15. Warranties are normally bought out by some other company and don't actually go through the original retailer.. you should check the warranty contract. Although some places, the warranties are through the store (but this seems rare), and if they go out of business you're basically out of luck. I am breaking out with another rash on my hairline on my forehead. ARGH. I am so tired of the rashes
  16. LOL Pam.. I sent that to all the girls at work.. and Russell :cursing: Although if he hasn't learned that by now, well.. there's no hope. I just got super huge exciting news. With the economy the way it is, the business we're in (not us particularly) is facing a scary amount of merges.. companies buying each other out, blah blah.. We're seeing it on a daily basis now, our bigger accounts buying out our smaller accounts (doesn't affect our business since it all comes to the same place), but it's a weird trend to watch. Well some of our biggest competitors are closing their doors!! I just found out last night about one of the biggies. There's 3 major competitors in the US. Now 2! We know why they are hurting, our customers are really bad about paying these days, and unless you can get your bank to support you right now, you gotta close up. ANYWAY, my big news.. one of my smaller accounts merged about a few months ago with a huge account I have been trying to land for 2 years. I can't ever get them to call me back, the guy I have as a contact there. Anyway, I was talking with my guy when they merged and asked him about getting their jobs.. he says they have their own vendors, but he is running some quotes through us for them to see if they want to swap. It's been a few months, and today THE CONTACT I've been trying to call for 2 years calls me to place an order. WOO FRICKIN HOO. This is the first time they're pulling a job from their current vendor to send our way. This is major. Either it's major, or their primary vendor was the one big competitor that just closed down.. either way, this is great news for us.
  17. But avoid the dry white meat turkey... ugh.
  18. Ok I know, I am not someone to lament with you, but I want to emphasize it's not that you're failing with the band, I really fill you just need some more fills. I've heard on average bands your size need 6-7cc to get adequate restriction and if you think you need a fill.. well, your doc is really a jackass, if it was all about self-control you wouldn't have gotten the band would you? :/ Hope you can find somewhere to get a fill, can you call your Mexican doctor and ask if they can recommend someone?
  19. I have that same comforter, I got it for Xmas 2 years ago.. I loooove it. But during the winter I do put a quilt on top of it for weight (it's very lightweight).
  20. Nope, last turkey day I just took about a teaspoon of everything on the menu and sampled everything.
  21. Don't think it really matters, some people do what you did too :cursing:
  22. I think everyone is different, I don't believe my doc gave me a set number.. but I weened down on calories (as you lose weight, you need more caloric deficiency).. I think I started about eating 2,000 calories a day, then a couple months/couple pounds later I went to 1,800 a day, and so on.. till I got to about 1,200-1,400 calories a day, with a day a week (roughly) where I had as much as 1,800.
  23. Without strenuous activity, it's still possible to have pulled stitches in your port area just from normal movements or bouncing, etc. I have had random pains in my port, and my port did flip, it's now fixed and moved.. and it's not flipped again but every once in a while it aches for no good reason.
  24. I didn't stop for surgery, I didn't want to give up food & smoking at once.. luckily, my doc didn't require me to give it up. But I did have to quit recently due to pregnancy, and I have to say.. I've always been terrified of quitting, much like you're saying.. if I knew I could have one 'later on' I was ok, and I'd have the one later on.. but when I finally stopped getting them and said "No more", it was oddly easy. I keep thinking this book I read brainwashed me. I never had withdrawals or anything, smoking turned into just.. like wanting a dessert. I never have to have it, I may want it sometimes, but it's not enough to make me buckle.. I just say no.. and things I learned in the book helped *ways of looking at it*. It's called "The Easy Way To Stop Smoking" by Allenn Carr. Friend let me borrow it, and I really think it did brain wash me lol. Couldn't hurt to read.. it even says, don't stop just because you're reading the book, just read the book.
