Welcome Rock! My biggest suggestion to you right now, in having to go through this long process is to look around at the success stories. They gave me great motivation to stay in line, when I was waiting to be banded!

Welcome tulip and congratulations on your recent band :smile2:) Not everyone likes baby food, but I loved baby 1st foods during puree phase.. I had the butternut squash, peas, sweet potatoes, and bananas.. I added salt to the veggies and they were wonderful! Most people don't feel restriction until they get some fill(s) in their band. So if you start feeling like you were never banded, don't fret.. it happens! Stick to your post-op diet, it's very important.. and good luck!

Hello Ms Burpy & welcome! Sounds like you've done great with your weightloss so far. As to the burpy, it sounds like you take in too much air. If you use straws, don't.. when you take sips, or swallow food, make an effort not to swallow a mouthful of air along with it. Sometimes it's just inevitable, I burp when I drink too quick, I assume it's the liquid backing up and gurgling through the band.. so maybe slow down too :smile2: If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome Christy! Good luck with the insurance approval, if your insurance covers obesity treatments it does sound like you qualify. Keep us updated :smile2:)

Congrats!! I went in deciding I wasn't going to worry about the weight, but my obgyn is a stickler (stupid skinny ass..woops did I say that?) about gaining weight during pregnancy. I gained more than she wanted me to, everytime I visit, so I get to hear a lecture.. and despite my best efforts, I'm starving 24/7 and I'm doing better than I expected to. I would like to totally binge eat right now, and I'm not.. I'm not making the best food decisions but I'm not eating like the cow I want to be eating as. I have gained 17lbs in 4 months, which is bad. I get sad sometimes, but then I remember.. post-baby I will be able to fill the band back up and get back on the wagon :smile2:) And on that note, I have finally stalled. I was gaining regularly week to week, and for a few weeks now I have bounced between the same 3lbs. About the unfill, depends on your docs preference. My obgyn has no input in it (I'm her first banded preggo), and my band doc.. well I'm his first preggo bander. He unfilled just a little bit because I had gotten very tight and trouble eating.. but I think that swelling went away so now I am more open than I want to be.. but if I get it filled back up, I'm afraid that swelling will come back and he's 3 hours away..

I couldn't log on yesterday either Pam :thumbup: Tracy - No smoking is going well.. I don't have plans for Tunica, but my parents went this weekend and I sent my free-play coupons with them.. They brought me $800 today! That's how much they cashed out with my free tickets.. woot woot. For my haircut.. I get the lady who is the only lady I let do my eyebrows.. Eyebrows are $10 + I give $5 tip.. if I get my hair cut, the haircut is $12 + $5 tip.. and I dye my hair at home for about $10. Nice an' cheap here in Alabamer! :smile2: Haydee that's the froofy smell stuff I got you last year! :crying: Oh yeah the vitavegamiteblahblah is on my refrigerator. Makes me laugh everytime I see it, I loved that show!!!

Tracy- Part of the instructions for submitting info for Secret Santa was a line about what you like.. Most people did it, so if you got the info without information on what they like, it's because they can't follow directions AND YOU SHOULD GET THEM COAL. :thumbup:

It is actually one of the short stories in the book you're buying :Dancing_sorry: I'm not sure why they did a promo video of that particular story, and like I said I didn't quite understand it.. but you should be reading it when you get to that story! Our weather is interesting.. haven't seen the sun in days, it's very gloomy out.. but no rain.. and it's only 60 degrees.. but supposedly we get a cold front tonight and SNOW FLURRIES tomorrow?? Mine flipped and I had revision surgery 6months post-op from my original surgery. They moved it from my belly to my chest (it's between my breasts under my bra). Never heard of waiting till you're at goal.. can they get into it? They couldn't access mine for fills/unfills. They open your original port scar, and depending on if they move it or just flip it back, they only deal with that area (or 1 more new incision site).. they don't open up all the other incisions.

Raw sushi is not OK, don't eat it during pregnancy. I got a flyer about it, I think it's either a bacteria or food poisoning thing. I forget now, cause I don't eat raw sushi. I eat the cooked rolls like california roll or crunchy shrimp roll, etc.

LOL Pam!! Haydee, I meant to comment on that.. THAT SUCKS!! What was she doing poking out of a moon roof, that is DANGEROUS!! Look, I'm getting mommy instincts! My friend has been asking me for months, questions here and there about the lap-band. She was only barely chubby when I met her, and she got married and moved away so we just talk online now.. but she apparently gained weight, so she kept mentioning diets, and saw my progress with the band, she told me last night she decided to get it.. because of the last set of pics I posted on my myspace LOL! She is self-pay too, and had some questions about finding docs, etc.. so I directed her to this website. She said she is looking at maybe going to Houston, so I told her she should check out Dr. Davis(s) if she does. She said she's looked around the forum but hasn't posted yet. I wish she still lived close, so I'd have a band buddy nearby!! Plus she never heard of the surgery till I got it, so I feel like I could give her a lot of info and support especially post-op when you are still realizing what just happened.. anyway.. I had 2 mini reese cups & 1/2c applejuice for b'fast.. going to lunch with russ & a co-worker, not sure where yet. Had the best tilapia of my life at that lunch yesterday, the southwestern cedar-planked tilapia at Chili's, without the green stuff and pico on top.. MMMMMMM it was so good.

Heather- everything I have read said things like, 1st pregnancy doesn't show till well into 6month for some, but when you're on your 2nd pregnancy they show really early (as early as 8 weeks!!). So I'm sure that has something to do with it! WOW LJM.. you are most definitely showing.. I wanna baby bump This is my belly today.. 17 weeks and 2 days. No bump. Any definition down there is just my flab from deflated belly.

My husband and I hypothetically talked about doing these things. I had a 3-some before I met him, and got all my adventuring out.. he had not, so I entertained the idea. Anyway, I think what ended up sounding ideal (because I don't want to 'watch' him with another girl, and I don't want him to 'watch' me with another guy) is swinging. We had talked about it, and it ended up fading out because we didn't care that much, or never found people we actually wanted to swing with.. but swinging with another couple, at the same time.. seems a lot safer, no one is 'left out', everyone is getting equal attention.

Are you showing yet LJM? Did you show Wheet? I think I have the same body type as you, and so I'm curious how you showed.. I'm starting to think due to a long torso I may not show very much.

No one insisted besides my husband, I think he heard radio commercials.. But I asked my OBGYN about it, she said pregnant women who get the flu are high-risk for hospitalization due to complications because their bodies can't handle the flu as well. Pnemonia is one of the risks. The flu is actually what put my mom into labor with me, she and my dad had the flu horribly and she thought all of her labor was just sickness from the flu.. I was crowning in the car and born in the lobby by time they realized it wasn't just the flu.

Morning! Glad to see you back Terry :tongue2:) Violet dreams are the best, I get a kick out of em! I am at 227lbs, so YAAAAAAAY I plateaud with the weight gain and even lost 3lbs. Baby's heart is still strong and all that.. I check it every night. I'm reading the worst drinks list-- "Caffeine abstainers will find little nutritional refuge in Starbucks' hot chocolate concoctions." HRMPH. Well, they provide yummyness in my belly, so.. Luckily the only time I go to Starbucks for their hot chocolate is when I am in Tunica because they have one in the lobby of our hotel. There's no convenient ones in town. We actually only have 1 (weird concept eh?) and it's at a walk up mall that you gotta park a mile away to get to. Not going through all that for a drink. I found my title last night. It ended up in my shirt drawer.. how does that even happen?? Now I don't know where to go, we have DMV with loooong lines, then the DMV satellite but they do specific stuff I'm not sure about, then the courthouse a city away where we got our licenses last year with no wait.. but I don't know if they do titles.. and of course no one has people that answer phones anymore, it's all automated generic info. Holy cow!

Yah take lots of pics Haydee!!!! I just got back from a long lunch with my friends.. They're friends that when we were kids, we all hung out in a group *4 of us*, we all grew up, 2 of us moved away, I moved back.. I get together with them one on one, but we've never all gotten together.. I arranged for us to do lunch together today IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. It was like we were kids again, we were talking about the stupid crap we use to do and the drawings of our 'future' we had in someone's closet.. One of them is the one who had a baby while we were in Gruene. So she brought her baby, who is 6 months and so adorable. I am so nervous with babies, I don't want to break them but they insisted I hold him and get use to it. By the end of lunch he was attached to me, when I gave him back he kept giggling and staring at me, and would follow me wherever I moved.. wee. Ok I want one :thumbup: I kept sayin, he's staring at me cause he knows I'm makin his future wife! Hah. Cute in theory, but I think it's a boy.

Oh and I'm having a sad day, my mom keeps saying Bovine Syndrome--which I still can't find on the internet!! Anyway, I paid off my car a couple months ago, they sent me the title thingie majig (I have no idea what all this crap is/means) and a paper saying I need to go to DMV and put it in my name essentially. Well somehow.. SOMEHOW.. despite having a folder in my drawer of important papers, an entire folder dedicated to car payoff with the overnighted cancelled check blah blah.. I lost the title they sent me. I'm so frustrated, I cleaned out my entire filing cabinet and it's not there. I checked my cabinets at home, no luck. I am on hold with the bank and they go "You need to come into a branch..." and I said.. I don't live in new Mexico anymore.. so on hold a while longer, she just came back and said "We don't have any Alabama address for you". Yet, I get my statement every month from them for 2 years+ now, they sent me the title before, and I saw on the title when they sent it to me, they had my old address out here listed. Gimme a break with no Alabama address on file. Wah.

Wait, when did we get kicked out of a buffet???
