I belong to a cat forum as well, and someone who works at a no-kill shelter asked for ideas for the same thing. The rest of the responses talked about using Petsmart/Petco to lay off some of the animals. Also, using Petfinder (I personally search there :smile: ) to list animals that need adopting. I'm just going to post all the responses she got... Around here the local shelter has a big yard sale with donated items. Everyone has some junk (treasure is what others call it) they want to get rid of and might be willing to donate for the sale. well working as a rescue group and so working with mnay shelters here are some options we have used: teh military has a thing that we families can donate some of our paycheck to a group that is 501. they sign up for it and then they take out so much money form our checks. we give to SNAP(spay and neuter prevention) and we also give to the marine wildlife fund. it is a great thing . we can give back. and teh groups love them. if you want more info on it just send me a private email and I can give you all the info. also as a group macy's has a great fundrasing two times a year. we sell raffle tickets for $10 a ticket with it they get a chance to win a shopping spree and get so much money off their purchaes when they shop that day. thi syear we made a good chunk of money. you could sell like teh kids do for school. pizza hut does fundraisers, sees candy, etc.... how about a craft fair? or a book sale? stuff like that?

Terry, I'll get back to you later. Waiting for my dad to get back to me, so I can find out what kind of rooms are available during that time. Hopefully, there's no major exciting events going on that weekend :smile: I'm excited about bathing suit this year! Even in my 300+lb glory, I always wore tankinis (always long enough to not show belly, and boy shorts instead of bikini bottoms). I still plan on the same style, but it will be a much smaller size and hopefully I fit well into it! I'm not buying a swimsuit anytime soon, I'm still losing steadily, so I hope to be at least a solid size 16 when the real swim season is here! I already got rid of my old bathing suits, they're worthless to me now! They're all size 24/26.

I'm busy too!! My classes started today, work is gettin busy with new leads, and I have to design 3 outfits for Saturday!! And goin out of town Friday. I looked at my syllabus for the classes, everyone is like 'Read all these chapters, write an essay, a review, take these quizzes' etc. etc. And like I said, one of those is the Spanish class. I read over one of the quizzes.. nope, I didn't retain ANYTHING from the first class. I have no idea.. oh wait, I did understand llama (sp), which means name? Mmmhm.. This is going to me a crazy semester. But almost done, yay! No water yet, but I bought some Fiji on the way to work. Drinking 1/2 of my low-fat chocolate milk first.

Oh I believe ya Denise, it is high graphics.. I am just surprised! I'm just sayin good night, I made home-made Chili for dinner, was able to eat about 1 cup. Now I have a MIGRAINE!! I can't find our tylenol, and I don't wanna take advil for a migraine.. so I'm taking a Midol since it has the tylenol on it heh. And a sleeping pill, gonna go try to sleep it off. Good Night V's!

Kat- The clothes I was showing, is what *I* was going to wear, as a contestant being on the show. My clothes were turned into a model (Not of my chosing, part of the show), and the models display it. I make clothes for men & women.. from elegant and classy, to trashy lingerie! For the contest, they didn't say what to 'enter' with.. so I gave them 4 outfits. One was a dominatrix leather cat costume, a sexy school girl outfit, a salsa dress, and I forget the 4th. It ends up in the contest, there are 8 contestants. 6 of them were ELABORATE fancy ball-gowns. They used my dominatrix outfit (jeez). And the last one, was a weird short dress. They totally went for the ballgowns, but I didn't know that's what they were looking for (they didn't say what to enter with!!). So anyway, next week starts the 'theme' round, so I'll be on par with everyone else (No more, they all have ball gowns, and I have... a dominatrix outfit lol) This week's theme is 'first date', and we have to make 3 outfits.. 1 sporty, 1 casual, 1 elegant.

Yeah I spit out my coffee when I read the 'butch it up' comment. Judy needs some good show & tell pics. Hehehe. I don't like Elvis (I am a huge Beatles fan too :smile: ) but I do want to see the museum for the experience. I'm not payin for the fancy schmancy tour tho lol.

Oh I see Judy, you're going to pull that! That's true though, my sister stopped going to church when the youth pastor (who grew up with me!!) told her.. she's going to hell. So she lost religion that day :smile: My old church definitely doesn't like the gay community. They didn't like me for the association either. And thus, I don't like churches anymore. Mazie- NO MOTEL! High Class Fancy Hotel complete with casino & spa. FREE. FOOOO FREEEEE. :myscared: I will compile a projected cost list after next weekend.

Glad you had a fun filled day!!! I had an official ANTI-CTCD. Let's see.. Woke up and got ready for the Project runway thing. Mom & DH were in here on computers too. It was longer than we thought (and sooo slow and boring) so we're all hungry by the end of it. My sister was here, but left (she's livin with my parents for the moment, she didn't pay her gas bill for months because she 'didn't know she used gas'. Mmhm. so no heat or hot water over there right now) And then apparently she wrote a suicide note last night. Ugh. ANYWAY.. so sister left early, DH went and got me a frappuccino.. I had to take my mom home. She wanted to go to sonic first. I hmm'd over the menu and decided on.. root beer float, jalapeno bites, and a ham, egg & cheese burrito. I got home, decided to pass on the bites which were so fried and greasy it really repulsed me.. so I pulled off extra breading on the tortilla, but I was so hungry, I ate so much, so quick, little chewing.. I ended up spitting up most of it. Then I nursed the float for a couple hours. Went to parents house to look at their new paint (they're renovating). Their house only has crap in it, and I was hungry again when I was there. So I had some Ruffles & French Onion Dip.. and 2 caramel filled Dove candy pieces. That's all I've eaten today. JUNK!!!!! And my myplate says I'm 200 calories over (1,200 total). And now I'm hungry for FOOD. Gotta love it. I'm going to eat something soon, this is just going to be a big day of calories.. all from stuff that did nothing for my hunger.

I was trying to see how far Jen is, some reason I thought (I guess since I am more East) that I would be closer to her than MO, but I'm not. Huh. And yeah, I've been to conventions where we rent a suite, and everyone has fun in there. So I am going to make sure I can get at least one, once we've decided. I'm not saying I won't gamble while I'm there :smile: but I'm only bringing a little money, so it won't be like that's my focus there. And I've never been to Graceland.. I don't like Elvis, but I've still wanted to check it out. So it'll be nice to be there with people that aren't only there to gamble.

Well it was a chaotic mess today LOL! Round 1, they said was introductory and to set up and see how filming goes, and work out any bugs.. and bugs we had. They kept making us designers get on the stage with our models, then some designers ran into the models and knocked them to the floor roflmao. But it was fun.. and since no one went home, whew. It was 8 contestants, not 12. 6 of the entries were BALL GOWNS. What did I enter with? A dominatrix outfit.. leather, straps, ripped pants.. oy. I was definitely one of the bottom...thank god this week was introductions. Good news, now we start themes. Now we will all be on the same page! This week's theme is 'First Date', and we have to make 3 outfits.. 1 sporty, 1 elegant, 1 casual. Fingers stay crossed!!

Just so ya know.. I am not going to take it personal if you guys are really opposed to Tunica and think you will not have a good time. I threw it out there for a few reasons, monetary was one of them. Nice hotel that's free, who can resist right ? :smile: But if it's a big deal, I don't want anyone to feel obligated for us to go there, so everyone air out your thoughts!
