  1. I got a pair of birkenstocks when I was 13.. I still have them, I wore them out.. they stink something aweful too. They are worn on the outside edge from how I walk, my chiropractor years ago told me they are bad for my back and to stop wearing them. I slowly weaned out of them, and I wore them a couple months ago and they no longer 'perfectly contour' to my feet. Our tornado siren went off on Thursday I guess it was, mid-day.. we were on a smoke break listening to it, they said it was headed toward the Space center (.5 mile from my house), but then the siren stopped, and I never heard anything else. I guess it didn't happen lol. But yesterday MIL called, asking if we were ok since she heard tornados hit Huntsville. If we had one touch down around here, it didn't do anything, because I never heard anything beside the sirens. They said we should expect tornados tomorrow. Tooth hurts more today than it did yesterday, and it's still kinda bleeding. Just took a painkiller, but been up since 8am. Was trying to tough it out, but it's kind of a gross pain. Been catching up on tons of tivo.. dateline, 20/20, snapped, judge shows.. waiting for mom to call me, I am going over to help her put together some hand painted jimmy buffet beach chairs she & my dad bought last year.. then we ordered him a landshark beer surfboard sign, has a shark bite out of it.. landshark is the new jimmy buffet beer or whatever.. she's making him a little habana (sp?) hehe. Oh Suzie I kept forgetting to respond about our news person. I don't watch local news, so I don't know any of them.. Dan Satterfield, I don't remember which station he is, but he is a looney toon. Whenever we have weather going on, he's on the tv. He makes his own warnings.. hes like 'National weather isn't declaring this a tornado warning, but by golly I AM' lol. He gets all freaked out and tries to freak out listeners. I guess if you're a transplant to the area it works, but if you are use to this weather, it's nothing. Thursday he was on there going 'OK kids if you're home alone, turn the volume all the way up, put your shoes on and get a pillow and go in the closet. Do NOT come out until you hear me tell you it's ok'.
  2. I wear flip flops year round..I'd go barefoot if I could. I hate shoes! Keds NO SOCKS definitely.
  3. Yeah I thought that too. Someone at work said, the cops 'found out', because her 16 year old tried to commit suicide, so co-workers sister called the police to check on his well being.. and they saw the mess.

LOL JUDY. You're way too hard on yourself  I saw you prancin around a hotel in a bathing suit in my dream, you were workin' it!! Let me check, I am making my packing list for v'trip. Is someone bringing enough shampoo & conditioner that I can borrow too? I will bring my own bar soap (i keep little ones from hotels for this very thing, so i can just throw it away when im done). But S&C I always have to bring my own and hate having to wrap it a million times to make sure it doesn't leak. Let me know )
  5. Nooo we had no idea, she's in another department and whenever referring to her, me and DH say 'the dumpy girl' because there's only 2 girls in that department, and she always looks dumpy.. but she doesnt look DIRTY and doesn't smell... and that place was DISGUSTING. I also can't believe the shack she lives in. She just got a brand new car a couple weeks ago she was showing off, I never would have imagined. Funny doped up and all, I just power cleaned my house lol. No more dishes in the sink or trash in my many mini-trash cans.
  6. Eww.. WAAYTV.com - Huntsville, Alabama - News Weather, Sports | Mother Arrested After Massive Mess Found in Home Watch the video. THIS IS ONE OF MY COWORKERS!!!!!!!

Prayers for your mom Terry, keep us updated!! Michelle- I'm a 'check the dang bag" too person. My carry on, is always my purse, that never leaves my side. But then it takes forever to get to my seat & get off the plane waiting for all the people with the stupid bags, and they never fit, and blah blah. One of my little annoyances in life, I stare at them with daggers. I haven't tried packing yet, but I decided if I can pack everything in my one duffle bag (I forgot, I always travel with DH that's why we never fit in the bag... but maybe if it's just me, I can),I may do carry on.. and be one of those people that make me mad. hah. But if it doesn't fit in the overhead, not only would I feel like an idiot, but then I'd have to check it anyway. Rambling on... 1 week I can not wait, I am so excited to finally meet you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad Hahn got put in her place with the Berk thing. Now she knows how Christina feels.. highly qualified, and ignored!!!! I was hoping she would have an epiphany, but they didn't keep going with it. I think the gay guys was sad.. and the gay thing with Hahn and Callie, it looked like they resolved it, then Hahn had a funny look on her face that made Callie uncomfortable again, so I am thinking Hahn does have something for her.
  9. I guess I'm torn on the "why" thing, I think answering why would help stop it. I am like all of you, maybe everyone is just like this, it's hard not to do the 'right' thing with food, even when you talk to yourself about it ahead of time. Or maybe just everyone who loves food.. hehehe. Had my tooth out this morning, was shocked at how easy it was. Last time I had wisdom teeth cut out, it was miserable. Different doc this time, my dentist sent me to him, a co-worker said he did her wisdom teeth and she was back to work the next day,so I had high hopes. I don't feel ANY pain. The novicain wore off hours ago, and it's a little sore, but if I am not biting down on the gauze, I feel absolutely nothing. I am taking pain meds too, but normally with pain meds I feel the pain I just don't care. I wish I remembered when they knocked me out, all of us in the room were laughing and talking about this news article I read, then all of a sudden I woke up hah. Did you guys see, the human remains near my house are making national news?! Nancy Grace, for some random reason, said the other night on her show, she thinks the remains they found here are the wife of the cop that's been in the news (from Chicago). Now, why in the world would she even say that? So now CNN & Fox news are swarming this area. They don't know if it's male, female, nothing. Prolly Billy Bob was drunk and hit his head and died, and for no reason whatsoever except to stir up news, it's now a major story's missing spouse. Silly people. Hope everyone is having a wonderful friday ) I'm on my laptop, so I'll be checking posts throughout my naps.. I keep goin in and out of sleep. And Judy that is a great pic, I see more pics of you I guess, I just realized how much Bobster lost! And my dad said something about the band, and I said "Get you one." and he said "I'm too old now". He's 46!!! He wouldn't listen if I tried to explain how he is not too old..Don't know where I was going with this except you mentioned your age, and I'm doped up lol.
  10. That sounds disgusting!!! I know what 4 chocolate chip Cookies taste like.. it's Survivor night! Anyone else watch it? My jaw is still on the floor. SERIOUSLY. Poor Erik, I bet he ran off the show crying. DH just got off the phone with his druggie bro (the one I have a fit when he stays with us), and DH says "Laura wouldn't appreciate that dude" and I'm back here going "what? what? what? WHAT?!". DH finally gets off the phone, his brother wanted to know if 'some guy' could stay here this weekend. HEELLLLLLLLL NO!!!!!! Not even someone DH knows, just some friend of his brother's. WTH. I don't even want to know. I have my tooth surgery tomorrow, even if I was in good spirits I wouldn't allow it. This prolly last time I post till I get the tooth thing, so next time I type will be on some pain killers.. mwhaha.

BTW I went clothes shopping at Wal-Mart AND Target last night. Can't let you gals outdo me and match when I don't
  12. Hey ya'll, just had to share my steal hehe!! DH&I ordered a bouquet of flowers for both our moms, and a card. Today my brother calls and goes "Me and Leslie (our sis) think we should all go in on a present together, and you're better at this stuff than us.. so can you get it and we'll pay you?" So thinking on my toes I'm like "uhm.. ok, how bout $100 gold necklace or something?" he said ok. So DH & I go to the mall on lunch break. I had chinese.. 1 bite of an egg roll, and 2 pieces of sesame chicken.. nom nom. After a lot of browsing (DH is so impatient, it's like dragging a bored child around the mall), I got her a Yankee Candle.. and I was ambushed in there, the lady kept trying to sell me 10 things at a time, and all I wanted-- I had in my hand ready to CHECK OUT!! Then we went to Belk's, and I was looking at necklaces, they were having a sale.. They were like $400-$600 originally, so I finally just told the lady.. I am looking to spend $100, I want something ornate, not flashy. Ring, necklace, whatever. So I see a ring, it's gold filigree with little diamonds in it. It's really ornate. Background is, my mom has 3 yellow gold rings she wears, and then for the past year she's worn this ugly pewter thumb ring I had in high school. She keeps dropping it (way too big) and of course, it's ugly. So I though that ring would be a pretty thumb ring and would match her other rings. Price is $380. Pff. She goes, "with the sales I can take it to $180! Wowee!" I said "Sorry, can't go over $100, I am going in with siblings and we committed to this price". So she goes, Let me see if I can get this down.. oh.. yep! I can sell it for $90. LOL. Can't imagine if I went in there and just said, I like this ring, I'll take it!! (For $380).. reminds me of buying cars, keep saying no enough and they match your cost.
  13. I think Jason was right to be gone, I think Syesha is next. I don't think David Cook is nearly as good as Daughtry. Daughtry made me giddy every single week. Cook has good weeks, and boring weeks.

I can't pack light even if I try, so I am bringing a checked bag.
  15. Darn, do I need to just bring a big suitcase full of hooched up clothing styles so we can see what looks good on who? :cursing: My husband and I met through an online game, which is a fun story. I have dated guys from this online game before, but only ones that lived nearby I could actually meet, there were other people in the game that did long-distance thing (never met, etc.) I don't think any of those ever worked out. Course mine didn't either!! I went to Vegas for a game convention, and DH was there for the same convention. Saw him at a meeting, and thought he was really cute, was throwing matches at my friend (who was sitting next to DH), and a matchbook landed on DH's crotch. History from there, heh heh. But, it was ironic, my best friend (in real life), played the game too. In the game, her 'character' was married to a guy..who was best friends with DH in real life. So we had talked in passing since I was about 13!! But we didn't ever really talk, so when we met in person, I didn't even put 2 and 2 together to figure out who he was. Learned after the fact, and thought that was neat.

I don't have much of a silver lining!! When I was younger my hair was ridiculously thick, and GORGEOUS!! I couldn't even get a stretchy pony tail holder around it one time, I had to use the elastic headbands to hold it. Now.. I have no idea what happened. Around 17, I started losing hair. I had complete bald spots at 20, in the back of my head. I think it's growing back, but I still shed an aweful lot. I doubt I'll ever have that thick hair back, and I don't know what happened, except genetics. I have an aunt who is 32 and 90% bald.. I guess I'd go to a wig at that point The rest of my body hair is all blonde, that's pretty much the only good thing. But I still have to shave my legs frequently. If I shave them, the next day I have stubble already.
  17. Originally, I had a hard time with this. I slowly weaned myself down. I got down to just a small sip 1-3x per meal. I didn't get a first real fill till 5-6 months post-op. Once I had good restriction, I find it too painful to drink and eat. I can be eating and feel fine, but if I drink even the smallest amount, I get a knot in my chest and it hurts something fierce. So the band made me stop drinking while eating!
  18. I agree, I would look into another program. I don't diet well, my will power is for crap. If I could just diet for a while and lose the weight, I would not have had WLS. So, I don't get those programs. I know some people have to lose weight to have a safe surgery, and if that's the case I don't have any advice.
  19. Actually, if you're losing fine, there's no need to get a fill.. till you need it. It's just, most people will need one within 6 months Your port should be somewhere around the largest incision, probably below? Have you pushed down and felt around?
  20. Jane, when we are in TX.. some of us will have laptops. Maybe we'll accidentally sign you up for something You'll see, it's actually really fun. If I was single, I would totally do this stuff. E-harmony for example matches your interests/picks/info with other people, and then sends you messages that they found people who fit you.. then you get to browse the pics (fun!!). And then read their profiles, and sometimes you just gotta laugh at people.
  21. I think you're already making great decisions for her, and as you go through being banded, you'll learn more-- that you can pass on to her. I would think at 6, she's not going to be extremely attentive, or even remember what you're doing/why. As she gets older though, it will have already been a part of your life and it won't be like some 'new thing mommy is doing'. And kudos on getting her to eat right. My mom was a bean pole, and she was the one who regulated me. My dad was large and ate (eats) horribly, candy all day long, etc. I took up after him, learned that candy isn't a treat, it just is something to eat, things like that. I can't say if mom tried to intervene it would have helped, I know somewhere in my teens I turned into a closet binge eater and would wait till everyone went to sleep, that kind of thing. But I think it's great you're introducing the healthy foods into her life now, if nothing else it will help her 'aquire' the taste for them. To this day I hate wheat based items, and my husband loves them. I never had them growing up, and that's all his parents had. I think those little things can make a huge difference.
  22. I love Jason to start, then he died for me.. he has not been good or entertaining.. Simon was right, it was like a BAD early audition last night. Syesha I am on the fence too, I still never remember her name. She is definitely better the past couple weeks, but some reason she still doesn't do anything for me. I guess it has to do with less air time? David C. was my favorite since he sang the Hello cover, but I am bored with him lately too. He hasn't done anything interesting IMO in a while. And David A, I don't like him.. but his voice is definitely good. I wouldn't want to watch him sing (like we do), but a CD of his music would be cool. Just not excited about anyone on AI anymore.
  23. WOOHOOO TRACY!! And WOOHOOO Pam! That's why it's funny when people say "I had a fill, how do I know if I'm restricted?". I get PMs of that sometimes too. It makes me giggle, the best answer is.. when you have restriction, you won't have to ask what it feels like. You know!!! If you question it, you don't have it. American Idol was such a disappointment last night. Jason Castro was my fav. early on, but I have no liked him for a long time. He's still sexy as hell and my mom keeps saying "But he looks like a girl..". Nah uh, and I love dreds.. even though yes, dreds always stink!!! My brother has dreds.. yuck. He uses petuli oil though, and that stuff makes me nauseated. What's wrong with my sister, hmm.. I could go on for days. Did I tell ya'll she was in the hospital last week.. she told everyone she cut herself opening a box, with a box cutter (sliced her thumb to the bone). Her girlfriend told us the truth.. my sister was cheating on her, so she found out and they had a huge blow out (I swear, I have no idea why her gf sticks around, it HAS to be for the money)..and my sister cut herself all over her hand, and went too deep. She's a cutter, though it's been a long time since we've noticed her doing it. And the hooka, when the article came out in the paper last night, I realized why she sits down there. It's not just flavored tobacco (that's what she always told me).. it's that drug that's in the news lately.. Sania or something? It's a legal psychadelic, they are trying to ban it across the country right now, so that's why the sex shop was in the news. Lastly, I agree Jane, try the online dating stuff. If nothing else, it will boost your confidence. A couple co-workers of mine have been doing e-harmony.. they gave me their log-in so I can 'scope' out their candidates.. it's fun.
  24. Emetrol. Liquid over the counter anti-nausea med. I swear by it, anytime I get nauseated (for anything), I take a swig and the nausea is gone instantly.
  25. Congratulations & good luck on the surgery!
