  1. agreed I'm three weeks today no more than a cup. I'm still down at about 1/4 C on most things but my band was placed higher than average If your concerned call your dietitician/nutritionist or doctor if if don't have one of the others. Sounds like your doing great. Congrats.
  2. another option if u have some expensive clothes that are too big is getting them taylored if you have a mall nearby most Nordstoms do alterations for cheaper than a new pair of pants or shirt. If your in a larger city you can also look for someplace that does alterations. Depends how mant clothes and how often.
  3. oddly enough pounding my chest lightly as high as you can up to the base of my throat helps me when I have a stuck bubble I can feel that won't move. seems primative but it works for me.
  4. definitely call your surgeon in my 2 wk post op they specifically asked me about coughing for some reason. I get a tickle here and there but thats it, i totally understand the need of a binder though i had one for my gallbladder but not for this even those tiny coughs hurt something fierce. I wish you luck hon.
  5. Peppermint tea works well Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  6. Walmart's Great Value Fat Free Zesty Italian is really good. I love ranch and did not like Italian at all, but that one has a really good flavor. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  7. No offense but hes a jerk. My Dr.'s office expects 4lbs. a month and nothing the 1st 6 wks because your body is healing and that is what you should be concentrating on healing and adjusting to your new lifestyle.
  8. Insurance companies don't allow the patients to call them? what a crock!!!!!!!!!!!! I would be complaining majorly; they are my benefits, there is no reason I should not be able to find out the status of them. ok done ranting
  9. I'm newly banded, but I would say lower to 1200 calories and increase your protein each day. Make sure your getting 60+mg of protein a day, also how is your water consumption? 8 glasses? That in addition to the measuring I hope that this could help.
  10. Mine was about 3 weeks. Keep in mind you can also call your insurance your not limited to your dr.'s office.
  11. I'm 2 weeks out they showed me where mine was. I can feel mine if I want to, otherwise it's non-existant.
  12. I've dealt with thirst/dry mouth issue due to meds for quite some time. The surgery didn't make it worse biut it didn't make it better either. I just add crystal light/equivelant to my water and it helps satisfy the thirst and deals with the dry mouth.
  13. Your Dr.'s office should have the guidelines based on your insurance policy. Most require more than just 3 supervised visits/months. You can call your insurance to find out what is needed, but your Dr.'s office should have it taken care of.
  14. sorry hon, opposite problem here; I have plenty of feeling at my port site. To the point I have tenderness.
