  1. Stop to think is it head hunger? Am I really just thirsty? Have a glass of water wait 10 minutes and then see if you are still hungry.
  2. I can't tell you how happy I am for you!! This is not just a number but a great accomplishment!! I dream of the day that I too will be in "ONEDERLAND" Do something amazing to mark this accomplishment!! I am going to get a onederland tattoo when I get there!! Congratulations!!!!
  3. I have had my band for 5 years and am very worried about the long term effects that could happen. At the time I got the band the sleeve was not available. When I got the band I really didn't think about long term and they don't tell you how difficult it can be to get the right amount of fluid. You either can eat too much or can eat too little BUT only of the wrong foods as the healthy ones can't go down. I am very ready to get the sleeve and am happy that there is no maintenance with it like the band.
  4. I have a lapband and am going to Mexico for a revision to the sleeve. There are many qualified surgeons in Mexico who do very top notch surgery at hospitals with all of the latest equipment. The cost is 1/3 to 1/4 that of the states and you can get it done immediately(I booked and could have gone in two weeks). Just an option if you don't want to go through the loooong process in the U.S.
  5. Billy I too am in the same boat, surgery September 10. Stay strong.......Think healthy
  6. As you can read though Marie, there is no one answer for everyone. No one can tell you exactly how you will do with your surgery. Unfortunately it is not an exact science as everyone's body is different.................... I think she is doing the best she can and hearing all of the advice that she can to help her in her journey of weight loss.
  7. I think 20 pounds is fantastic in three weeks! What are you eating? Maybe we can help you there.
  8. Look you can do this, I understand that you are on 6 days of your pre-op liquid diet right? You want this surgery, you know that you can't use food for a vice anymore. DO SOMETHING ELSE and my best suggestion is..................get out of the house, normally this is where we do our eating, changing your surrounds can shake that craving, get your mind on something else. Stay strong, Stay focused, life will always happen, change the way you handle it!
  9. This is your question and you have not been sleeved yet? STRANGE...................
  10. I also have had my lapband for 5 years and am going to have it removed and sleeved in the same surgery. This seems to be very common. Unless you have stomach complications there is no reason to "heal" first. I think you are making the right decision............You would probably have to get it removed at some point anyway, get the most bang for your buck and get sleeved!!
  11. Not sure who eggface is but in my opinion, now I have the lapband and am going to be sleeved, the food process is the same. By the fourth week you still need to go slow. No one says you can't try a new food, but my suggestion is be careful. Do you think you are ready for flour? Yes almond flour is a good choice but I would wait. Walmart does sell it, I think I have seen it in the international isle, the kind in the cellophane bag. I think if you can hang on don't get to recipe crazy yet. You have done wonderful with your weight loss and you want it to continue...............
  12. if you add a cup of milk to your shake it has about 9 grams of protein.
  13. thanks to everyone for the answers about the undies, it doesn't really matter, I will okay either way!!
  14. I think she fully understood your question. There would be no reason to eat a bowl of sugary icecream, this in no way will help you to lose weight. The point of the surgery is for you to eat less and hopefully stick to clean, healthy Proteins, veggie with a little carb.............good luck to you!
  15. Liquid diet means shakes. They have alot of nutrients in them and really make you feel great before your surgery. Replace two of your meals a day with a high protein low carb shake and have a protein and veggie for the other. You will for sure lose weight and feel alot better right before your surgery. It also helps to reduce the size of your liver so that it is not so much in the way. Hope this helps
  16. Your amounts don't seem to add up. At only 800 calories how can you get 100g of carbs and 100grams of protein,it doesn't seem possible.
  17. I thought a big thing about the surgery is that you are not supposed to be hungry. Is your stomach growling or is it head hunger?
  18. Hello, Does anyone else have their surgery booked for around this date? I hear he has three other surgeries this day. If this is you I would love to communicate. I am travelling alone from Canada. Donna
  19. You can get a surgery that only uses one scar right down center(underneath) I had a breast lift and they used this method. You can't even see the scars.
  20. It is probably a physchological thing. You can't eat so you want to feed everyone around you............It is not bad, just make sure that you don't eat it.
  21. I wonder if anyone can answer my question about................underwear! Can you wear them during surgery? I could when I had my lapband. The one thing I will feel weird about is if I can not wear them.
  22. I agree with the other poster, liquids is liquids, no yogurt or cream of wheat, thin soups, jello, thin protein shakes. this may be why you are having issues, start slow you don't want to damage your stomach in any way.
  23. It doesn't sound normal to me. Strange that you still have your drain 10 days out. When are you do to get it out? I would call him just to be sure. Don't worry they will help you
  24. How badly do you want to lose weight and keep it off forever??? I am going to schedule a revision from band to sleeve and that is scary!! What if there are complications with the removal? What will happen? I can't think of that because I will have to get it out eventually. I know that I want to be slimmer for good!! If you have the support of your husband and you really want this for yourself JUST DO IT!! You have nothing to lose but weight!! Come with me to Mexico I am going to Dr Garcia........
