    I've had days where I was close to 2000, and it was also most likely due to the calories in alcohol! I try my best not to feel guilty after days like that, because the point of this surgery was to feel NORMAL. Of course, that's easier said than done.
    The problem with alcohol is it also increases my chances for snacking on finger foods without thinking twice. So, 3 glasses of wine add up to almost 500 calories. Add in some finger foods, and that's almost a whole day's worth of calories in a single evening. Is it worth it to allow myself that once in a while? Totally.

    I love this, Cheri you are an inspiration!
    I am 5.5 months out and have *only* lost 53 lbs. I was stalled for the entire month of Jan but seem to be making steady progress again. I feel pretty pleased with myself but then I see other people losing 53 lbs in their first 3 months! I'm glad to know there is hope for me and that its possible for me to lose ALL of my excess weight. The surgeons say 60-80% is realistic, but I want to beat the odds and lose it all. Just because it hasn't already happened does not mean it won't happen.
    The saying 'comparison is the thief of contentment' is so true!

    I am 17 months out and still losing. :-) It is definitely not a race.
    I've lost 83 pounds overall, and I am planning to lose 100 pounds.
    August 2011: 25.5 pounds (sleeved Aug. 9, 2011)
    September 2011: 14.5 pounds
    October 2011: 9 pounds
    November 2011: 6 pounds
    December 2011: 3 pounds
    January 2012: 6 pounds
    February 2012: 6 pounds

    I haven't lost any weight in January "officially." I gained some weight around the holidays, and I've lost it again.
    I also went down to a size 10 in jeans in January, which isn't reflected in my weight loss and stayed true even when my weight went up a few pounds. To me, this means I am losing inches and gaining muscle tone as well as losing weight overall. This is good.

    I like to eat fat free Greek yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, string cheese, beef Jerky, refried Beans with cheese, shrimp cocktail, tilapia, turkey meatballs, lunch meat. Is that too many choices

    I was sleeved aug 13,12 I started 204 and today I'm 140 down 64 lbs! My average day is under 1200 cal. I can eat thick Soups, salads, chicken, pork, fish. I don't do bread or Pasta too good. I can't drink alcohol. If u like join my fitness pal and u can see a lot of sleevers and what they eat daily.

    Coconut oil! I slather that stuff all over my body, face & hair. It goes on a bit greasy at first my skin absorbs the oil pretty quickly. I was really suffering: dry flakey skin on my face and dandruff on my scalp. The coco oil has really helped. I also started taking fish oil & flax oil everyday.

    I feel like the only one at these stats!!! People r getting sleeved at my goal weight!!! HW: 399 today 306 5'5. I think I used to be 5'6 I think I lost fat on the bottoms of my feet!! Lol Was a 4x in tops and 30/32 in bottoms. Now a 26/28 pants and 3x tops.

    I'm 5'5" an started out at 225. I'm nearly 3 months out and have lost about 40 lbs. I weighed in at 185 today.

    I want to wear khakis with my shirt tucked in. I find these to be the least forgiving pants on earth, I have tried on million pair and always look terrible!
    I can't wait to wear a skirt and not get rash on my upper thigh from the friction. Ouch!
    Mostly, I can't wait to not be constantly thinking about food. What am I eating next? Where can we eat out this weekend? Friends coming from out of town? Where will we be eating. God, I am sick of being ruled by food!

    I also wanted to point out that going to an AA meeting is NOT A FORM OF WEAKNESS. You will not be seen as weak for asking for help. In fact, it takes an act of COURAGE to do this.

    thanks for the ideas. failed this weekend on drinking. i drank a gallon of ale, half a bottle of wine and two shots of whisky sunday :-( just got off work and gonna try an aa meeting for the first time in my life. i feel pretty pathetic. has it really come to this?

    Be careful about increasing your speed. Consider increasing it for a minute or 2 in the middle of the run and see how you feel. I'm much slower than Fiddleman, but I just accept it. I've been increasing the distance of my runs faster than the speed I run. I don't mind being slow because I too and very wary of injuries.
    Here's a tip for going faster though. While you're running, imagine your body leaning forward at the ankles (not the waist). This will cause you to speed up without adding any extra effort on your part, other than your feet will have to move faster to catch up. This is how I run, when I want to speed up, I lean forward at the ankles. When I want to slow down, I straighten back up.
