  1. I take D already (I'm pre-op) as I live in the pacific northwest and we get very little sun thought the year. It made a HUGE difference in my energy levels. Have you been feeling lethargic? If so that could be why.
  2. Amykins, are you booked with Dr Aceves already? My surgery is 8/31. I'm Sooo excited!!!!!
  3. Yes, I'm scheduled for 8/31 and am getting so excited as the day grows near. I'm not really nervous, just hopeful and excited. I have kicked my caffeine habit to the curb and I feel fine! Trying to work on simple carbs now- Oy! So hard! I'll start the 2 week pre-op low carb diet tomorrow. I know that'll be rough but I'm confident I can do it!
  4. My fella got me a new bike for valentines day. Sadly, I want to pass out after only a few minutes of riding. I know he is disappointed that I haven't used it more. I am pre-op and can't wait to be able to get back on my bike!
  5. His may come off as a silly question, but I'm very curious about how having the majority of our stomachs removed effects the different astrological signs. If you're willing to participate please share the following: What's your sign? How would you rate your physical recovery post op (1-10, 1 being miserably long healing, 10 being fast & easy healing) How would you rate your emotional state post-op (1-10) How would you rate your food tolerances? Can you keep things down r do you find that many food 'don't agree with you' now? How would you rate your general success with the sleeve. Have you made goal or are you on target to do so? (1-10). Please if you had complications, etc please give details. Thanks for sharing!
  6. I'm laughing so hard right now!!!!! That is too much!
  7. I'm Tonga too!! I'm sure it's a beautiful country, but that is not what I hoped to see!
  8. I don't eat the fruit when I make these waters. I don't think it will be harmful to newly sleeves folks. It's gotta be better than drinking fake sugars.
  9. I love fruit waters! Cucumbers are cool and refreshing. I also like citrus slices (orange, lemons, lime). I recently tried strawberry slices with crushed basil- Delish! Just soap the fruit in water overnight and enjoy the next day. I give the leftover fruit to our chickens
  10. How far out are you?
  11. I'm in the same boat as the OP. surgery in Mexico and need follow up care at home. I have a primary care doc who was opposed to the surgery but will have to run the bloodwork for me post-op. I REALLY wanted to find a WLS friendly primary doc in my area but no luck yet. I even reached out to folks from this site that live in my area and got no response On a positive notes, I just left my 1st counseling session with a therapist who happens to have had WLS! I really lucked out! I may ask her for a new PCP referral....
  12. I'll look for and add both of you guys (if ya don't mind!) I just signed up for MFP and am hoping to use it regularly. I'm set for surgery 8/31. BMI 37 Age 34
  13. 37, is that low? My surgery is 8/31.
  14. 8 oz per day is referring to CAFFEINE not carbonation.
  15. I lost 50lbs on optifast. I did liquids (shakes, broth, water) for 4 months! It's amazing how full you'll feel off just those liquids. I suggest mixing in some fiber. I was horribly constipated
  16. I'm with the OP on the whole day spa thing. I hope to some day be able to opt for no swimsuit in swimsuit optional situations (hot springs, day spa, jacuzzis). That may be a tall order but it's very important to me. I want to be able to tuck my shirt into my pants! I work in a professional environment and currently feel so frumpy I want to enjoy sex again, and be able to run again, I want to ride my bike for miles and miles. I don't want strangers to avoid sitting next to me on the bus. I want to feel comfortable in my body and proud of my accomplishments. I am SO ready for this! 8/31 cannot come fast enough!
  17. Haha! I wish I looked as good as my 'starting weight' model. She's not nearly as lumpy as I am!
  18. I also thing this sounds gallbladdery. That was the most excruciating and indescribable pain I've experienced. My whole torso was in agony, I couldn't tell if it was my back or an organ in my abdomin. The the pain would be gone as fast as it came on.
  19. Yay! Congrats! Keep us posted on your progress
  20. He is doing this training during the 1st week of Sept I believe. I am scheduled with him right before he goes to the conference. Suzanne, how did you hear about this? Also, do you have a link to the magazine article? How did you come across that info? Thanks!
  21. I'm going to Dr Aceves in Mexicali. I'd love to stay in touch with you to compare progress / commiserate. What are your stats? I'm 34 yrs old. 5'5" / 225 lbs BMI 37 I'm excited but so nervous!
