  1. Chicken is tough. You have to make it very moist... gravy... dressing something. It is still very tough for me.
  2. Try am herbal tea called smooth move... You can get it at Walmart. I drink a cup every other day.. It will get it moving with no cramping.
  3. welcome to the boards. Glad to have you here.
  4. Erika... your blog is really cool. Its very brave that you are throwing it all out there. I am proud of you. I think you will do really well with the whole process.
  5. Welcome to the boards. Seems we get alot of newbies and not very many vets. Any words of wisdom just jump on in.
  6. LA GP... totally agee. How it makes me feel plus the carbs... NO THANKS!!!
  7. It might be the protein drink that you are drinking. It took me a long time and many $$$ spent to find one that agreed with me and my pouch. You might want to contact your nut about where to get samples of different protein drinks and try out something different. It seems what you are saying is that is when you get sick. Good luck
  8. It is normal not to feel hungry after surgery. You have just had major surgery. If you are like some of us here, when you do start feeling better, you stll wont ever feel a hunger pain. I have to make myself eat every 2-3 hours because my stomach just doesnt ever growl to let me know its hungry.
  9. I go in for my year follow up on the 28th. Im excited to step on the scale in thier office. Hell, I hope they make me a spokesperson or something... lol. Michele... my surgeon wanted me at 175.. I dont really get it because I would have still been considered overweight on the BMI chart. How did everything else go othere then his lame goal... Let us know
  10. kmiller... music is right. This weight gain is from surgery. I had an ablation done and gained 8. It took 6 days for the iv stuff to flush out of my system and then I started losing. It is a freak out moment but you got this. Just keep working the program.
  11. Sorry you are feeling well... Love your new pic tho-!!!!
  12. Ok so I still can't eat bread let alone cookies... Thank god... Tonight I had fiesta lime chicken and made Santa Fe rice... Of which I had about a tablespoon. It was really good.. The rice is kinda sitting heavy.. But it tasted really good
  13. what a difference. GOOD JOB!!!
  14. I've seen people on here that have slipped up pre op and had surgery. Good luck
  15. That was one of the hardest things for me to break too... even now. covering everything up with a big shirt. What helped me was having one of my kids take a pic of me in an outfit so I can visualize how it looks. Its weird but looks different in a pic versus a mirror. Smaller well fitting shirts just make you look smaller.
  16. I use Garnier Fall fight. I lost hair from months 3-6 and then it leveled out when I got my protein up and started using biotin faithfully.
  17. Ooooh Heather I have been wanting to try WEN, Do you like it? Does it make your hair feel thicker?
  18. Thank goodness!! Glad you are getting to move forward
  19. It honestly does get easier. While even now almost a year out I sometimes forget to chew the heck out of my food and will still have issues. My husband and kids all know the look when it happens and just roll their eyes and say mom.... chew your dang food. Something we have done so mindlessly our whole lives... EAT... we have to now be really aware of. Hugs your way girlie.
  20. Walked 4 miles....outside... In the 60's in oklahoma today. Supposed to be nice all week
  21. Baked lemon garlic cod with spinach salad
  22. Well ok... Guess I'm a vet!!!
  23. Make sure you are chewing the heck out of it. I used to have to add a dressing or something to make it really moist
  24. I never did try anything else... Last thing on my mind was getting my protein in... I'm sure that isn't the right answer
