4 yrs out and pasta and rice still don't agree with me

My friend is two years out. She can eat a little pasta but not rice. It puffs up in her stomach.

I am 2 years out and I can eat pretty much anything now. I would not recommend pasta and rice often because carbs can cause regain quickly!

I am 5 weeks out and had spaghetti. I didn't use alot of noodles. But some with more meat and a little sauce. I had to use healthy noodles. But it was awesome.

Any pasta scares me completely. Eating just a little is a recipe for puking all day. Then dehydration and miserable. Happier not even trying!

LA GP... totally agee. How it makes me feel plus the carbs... NO THANKS!!!

My entire appetite has changed. Im very picky on food now. I find meats sort of greasy tasting and hate all of them. Oatmeal and popsicles are cool. Any sort of Reese's crackers are cool. I like straight broth soups. Coffee is damn wonderful. I can live on coffee alone!

If you want pasta such as spaghetti, penne, elbow Mac etc. there is a brand called Dreamfields. It is made especially for diabetics. A normal serving of pasta has around 42 g of carbs. This pasta has 5 g net carbs per serving. Tastes just like regular pasta. Enjoy!

You could also use spaghetti squash for the noodles. I haven't tried it since surgery, but liked it before.

My 16yo daughter and I love spaghetti squash for spaghetti.

Also, read an article that stated if you soak Pasta after its cooked in milk for 30 seconds it helps reduce the absorption of the carbs. Not sure of its validity and haven't tried it.
