You definitely need to go out and buy yourself some nice church clothes! No more breakdowns in your closet, ok?
I am slowly redesigning my "look" . I have never been a girly fashionista type - jeans & t-shirt or black slacks & non-tailored top (i.e. baggy). For right now I am sticking with the black slacks but the tops are getting more feminine. I have found that I really like the cardigan over tank top look - two or three nice cardigans or jackets and lots of bright colored tank tops or camisoles aren't too expensive and you can wear them through a lot of "down sizing".

If you think the forum on BB.com is bad, don't read the forum on Myfitnesspal. Holy Christ. According to them, anyone who eats less than 1200 calories a day will be dead in a week.

I just put 1100 calories. But I'm way under. Averaging 600 to 700. I love this app. I have asked those if you who put your user name in here to be a friend. Hope that is ok. Mine is millboh.

millboh reacted to FishingNurse in Not All Sleevers Eat 500 Cals A Day For The Rest Of Their Lives!
    So I am 15 months post-op.....
Just thought I would share my experiences and what life is like for me as a sleever in maintenance. I made my weight loss goal ( a very modest goal in fact...) at about 8 months out. So I have maintained my weight loss with ease for the last 7 months. I chose a higher goal than many sleevers for several reasons....
    1.) easier to maintain
2.) no lose skin. That's right people, I have no lose skin, my butt is still round and the girls are still perky!
3.) I am normal, curvy healthy and average. That's all I ever wanted!
4.) I wear normal sizes. I am in a 12 and as a nurse I wear medium scrub tops and large bottoms. I LOVE BEING NORMAL. (preop I was in 2x and 24s)
I don't really care that my BMI is not "normal" it never will be, I am happy and healthy. My surgeon and primary agree I am in a great spot.
So what do I eat? a typical day is about 2000 calories. I was eating 1400 a day for weight loss.... I got up to 1000 cals as soon as I could post op so I wouldn't tank my metabolism. I don't eat low fat anything, I don't drink diet anything, no sugar free toxic crap. I eat small and healthy amounts everything. I have a vanilla latte everyday.I eat cheese at least twice a day. I eat lots of fruit and veggies and of course Protein. I go out to eat, have dessert a few times per week. I eat like a healthy, normal person.
I still have started a real workout routine at the gym... I have a fairly physical job as a nurse and I take the dog for walks all the time, I plan to workout at the gym this winter for health purposes.
All in all my point is.... I am so happy I was sleeved!!
below is a before and after.....:-)

millboh reacted to delta_girl in Sophisticated Calculator - Caloric Deficit / Exercise For Monthly Estimates
I discovered this in a related article on diet vs exercise for weight loss results.
    http://www.pbrc.edu/...loss-predictor/
Though it doesn't provide quite the extreme for caloric restriction that we undergo, it DOES show how regular exercise can really impact the results.
I entered my gender, age, height, weight, and caloric reduction. I had to play around with this for a few minutes to see how it worked and to make connections between how it worked and corollaries to the unique nature of the sleeve and our general nutritional plan.
If I have a caloric deficit of 1,000 calories a day (It would take 2,665 calories a day to maintain my current weight of 187), then in 12 months I can be down to around 147 pounds. If I add in exercise that burns just 250 calories a day (a brisk walk for an hour), then in 12 months I can be down around 137 in 12 months. But I'm not in a nutritional deficit of 1,000 calories a day. I'm in a nutritional deficit of 2,100 calories a day as of today at the weight of 187. See how the calculator is not "extreme" enough for us? However, it does provide a fascinating comparison, and if you are great at math, you can do a bit of estimating and calculating to envision results specific to you. Of course you will have to figure in that your daily caloric needs will decline as you lose weight, so the deficit number will go down for each pound lost.
Unfortunately I'm really horrible at math so I can't calculate my exact results, but I can guesstimate that it is possible for me to be at or near goal well before 12 months are up, IF I maintain a consistent nutritional plan with significant caloric restriction and IF I maintain a consistent exercise program that includes adequate length and intensity for each session.
I did do enough playing around with it to discover that when I do reach my goal weight, I can maintain it with around 1,600 calories a day if I remain active. If I am sedentary, then I will need fewer calories.

I'd posted previously about my love of flatout bread. Last night I cut one in half and made buffalo chicken on one half (wing sauce, canned chicken, cheddar cheese, sprinkling of ranch dressing packet) and sausage/pepp on the other (prego pre made pizza sauce, leftover sausage, turkey pepperoni, and four cheese pizza blend). At 8 weeks I could only eat 1/6 of a flatout...now I can do about a quarter, but am stuffed (e.g., what you see in pic is four meals)

I'm not 20, and not a full time student at a large university, but I am 32, wife mother to a 14 and 12 yo, work 40+ hours a week, and about to start taking a college class again all day on Saturdays. So I do have a busy schedule. I'm 7 weeks post-op and just now started to get energy back. If you have come this far you are a strong person. You can do this! You might need some new people to hang out with. I know I was very much a social eater, so I have to do other activities, if I did hang out with friends and we went to bars/redtaurants might want to suggest other activities. Don't get didcouraged....you are stong! You have come this far....the rest ( I'm assuming) is downhill!

Well I am married, however I did go out with my girlfriends and I practically had to fight the guys off. I did tell my hubby he was gonna have to buy me a bigger diamond ring to scare off potential suitors. The sex is a lot better. My legs can bend like I never thought, and it doesn't hurt when I we go out for dinner dates it's great, I feel so sexy and confidant, I love getting all dressed. I feel like I'm slowly but surely becoming eye candy...what maybe one day I'll be that trophy wife that I always knew I could be.
