  1. I think you can click on my profile and see all the posts I have made. The first couple were detailed about taking care of yourself post op and healing your self before looking for weightloss. Information gleaned from hospital nutritionist.
  2. It's normal! Sleeve or no sleeve! Step away from the scales! Put them away! There's a trainer in Australia that uses the WWWW system Wednesday. Wake. Wee. Weigh. Always the same day, always the same time. Always the same scale.
  3. My surgeon knows how to check the bougie size (from my lay understanding, the rid inside your tummy they use to gauge how much tummy to leave? They staple against it) I don't think I want to chose that! Pylorous? Isn't that a landmark of the tummy or esophagus they use when cutting? In my opinion, no. Chose a surgeon u trust and let him use his degree to your benefit. But I'm sure there are other opinions. (and I could be completely wrong with what I understand these to be!) Melbourne girl here!
  4. Plastic surgeon said 1 year post sleeve for any skin or boob surgeries
  5. In Australia my surgeon used a laparoscopic tool that cuts, staples and double line sutures at the same time. Wish I could remember the name of it. Ultrasonic or ultrasound something. I watched a utuve video of one of the Mexico doctors and she used the same device.
  6. I'm only 17 days post op but yes! I think though it's usually when I eat too fast. Does it happen sometimes or all the time? Me sometimes. I had my gallbladder removed at the same time due I gallstones I had know about for 2 years. Sometimes I get diahrea and get the hot flashes just before that as well. I've put it down to digestive upset, things moving too fast.
  7. Dietician was June 21. Weighed 103 kilos, 92.6 now
  8. Actually... Your profile pic in reply to another topic made me go look at your previous posts to Check out your journey cause you look HOT!! Seriously rocking that bikini!
  9. To be honest, I haven't suffered as yet with the sleeve! Hernias Hurt like heck, maybe disguising the sleeve if it is sore? My process was hear about sleeve may 30, surgeon appt the next week. 2 week preop diet. Meet with physician, blood work, dietician. Surgery June 26.
  10. Hi Lila! I'm in Melbourne. You? I'm 17 days post op.
  11. I have a codeine allergy and have to have the morphine drip and opiates after. OxyContin and endone. So nauseous! Lots of anti nausea tablets. Day 3 they switchede to targin for pain and voila! Nauseau fixed! Should say hernia repairs more painful than sleeve, thus the strong meds
  12. Im 15 days out and toying with puréed foods. First 13 days, just liquid!! Now I feel well, no issues and puréed food keeps me satisfied longer than liquid. There is no reason to 'cheat' call ur dr and see what you can do to help u tolerate the diet.
  13. Wow. Your calorie counts are so low! And exercise so high! You are burning way more calories than you are eating. There is a minimum our bodies need to run our vital organs and just move around, before you add exercise. The heavier you are the higher that number as your body has to work harder to stay alive and get around. Is it safe long term to consume less than 800 calories a day and exercise that much? From everything I know, your body will lose slower and stall more often if it perceives famine. Not sure my brain would function (as that seems to be the first to go for me!) I'm sure I would feel light headed and somewhat unwell. (as I have done starvation diets in the past!) Interested to hears thoughts on this
  14. Did u guys have open surgery? My sleeve was laparoscopic, gallbladder out as well. Then had open hernia repairs through my old caesarean scar from twins. Would live compression around apron and hernias but not upper abdominal. I have been looking at the compression garments with zippers up both sides for easy on and off.
  15. Hey! 15 days post op here with double hernia repairs as well. No way I would bind my abdomin right now! I have enough trouble getting food down without any pressure garments. A few weeks done the track maybe?
  16. I wouldn't have had the surgery if anything but sleeve. Banding has too much on going care and RNY (bypass) has long term health effects like malabsorption. That is from my research and is my opinion. Looking forward to seeing others
  17. Im 5'3 and although originally born and bred in Texas til I was 28 I now live in Australia, so.. Technically my opinion is irrelevant, but I was going to say... Weights! Do it! U will be so happy u did! In Australia we have Les Mills pump classes and I LOVE them! Can't wait to get back to it!! The research is showing that although cardio is great for initial calorie burn, the sustained release you get from strength training is equally if not more important for toning and long term health.
  18. I am actually porportionate, but really heavy! My breasts are huge and my ass is supersized, so of course my waist and legs look small! I used that as armor for a long time. Doesn't help when u have friends that tell you that your figure is nice. I think they mean to make me feel better but when I see pics I just want to crop them to head shots! But when I get myself done up and swagger out the door, in my mind I look HOT! Pmsl! I have heard it can take ages to start picking up smaller sizes by habit. Lots of ppl lose weight and then continue taking larger sizes to the dressing rooms!
