What Are You Looking Forward To?
Wow territravel--with tears in my eyes I told my dad I wanted this surgery so that for once in my life, I want to be able to walk without my thighs rubbing together. Another thing I am looking forward to is people not to refer to me as "big Becky" when they are telling someone about me Even a close "skinny" friend does this, and it kills me.

Has Anyone Not Experienced A Stall In The First 6 Weeks?
- 1 Week Post-Op
I think we all have to push for that goal---not just weight loss, but back to the things we used to do or the things we were never able to do but always wanted to because of the weight hanging over our heads. New way of thinking. New life. Nothing's stopping me now.- 1 Week Post-Op
8 days post-op today. 14 pounds down. Managed 3 mile power walk today. Feeling really good. No pain. Good luck to you guys. Love reading all the success posts.- 6Mos Post Op - Before/after Pics
Way to go. Looking good.- Pre Opt Diet And Snow Cone
There are actually sugar free flavors in snocones these days. Opt for one of those. Most of us were/are allowed sf popcicles and jello, so it would make sense.- The Drain Tube
Lol. Funny. I kept looking at mine thinking it was only going to be an inch or so long into my stomache When the nurse unwrapped it, I saw it was sutured into my stomache. I asked the nurse if it would hurt when removed, and she told me it was tolerable. Like a train wreck, I couldn't turn away. She started pulling and I just watched and watched. NO pain, just a weird feeling. I think they drained the bulb four or five times while I was in the hospital.- Panic Attack!
I went through varying stages of that. The night before my surgery I told myself that I wouldn't know what would happen unless I took the chance. I put it in God's and the surgeon's hands. I wrote "just in case" letters to my parents and children and worked it all out. You'll find the strength and courage where you need it. Something brought you to this point. You can bring yourself the rest of the way.- Cover You Incision/drain Hole?
The only hole I had covered is my drain hole. I just have a loose band aid on it now in case my clothes rubs on it and it oozes. I don't want it to stick.- Any Last Minute Advice?
Walk walk walk. It sounds weird, but it helps. The nursing staff will keep you awake anyway, so get familiar with the hospital walls. I had my surgery Wednesday and only had pain meds Wednesday nigh through iv.- 2 Week Diet
It is very hard. Everyone that has been through can attest to that. Just try to stay busy and keep only sugar free foods and vegetables in the house. I know with my kids around, the temptation to have junk was too great, so the extra healthy stuff helped. I am having to modify the household diet to get everyone to make better choices. If your going to cheat, at least cheat with something you can have. Try to stay busy and sip sip sip that water. You CAN do this. Remind yourself of your goal every time you put something in your mouth. Don't beat yourself up if you have a slip. It is hard to break a cycle you have been in your whole life. You did not get the size you are in one day. It'll take some doing, but you got this.- 62 Lost
That's awesome. You must be stoked.- Done
Congratulations.- Wow
Not having much of that either- Wow
I do have a question, though. While in the hospital last night and today, they asked if I had had any bowel movements. I just thought to myself--Really? I had been on liquid diet for two days and then nothing for the surgery. We're they serious? Was I supposed to? When should those functions return?- Wow
That's good to know. Between trying to sleep today, and frequent trips to the restroom, I've already lost a couple of those pounds.- Wow
Made it home around noon today and got on the scale--gained 9 pounds. Omg. No wonder I'm feeling so bloated.- June Sleever's Compilation - Good Luck & Well Wishes
Mine was yesterday. June 27- Huge Nsv For Me!
Awesome for you. A lot of people just don't realize how important simple things like that are to people who can't do it.- Going To The Hospital
Good luck- Was Just Sleeved
My pre-op diet until the day before surgery was protein shake (I found EAS tasted the best--less gritty/dirt like). A snack in between the two shakes and one before dinner. (sugar free jello or vegetables). Small source of protein and a cup of vegetables for supper. I had the surgery yesterday, and the only pain I have experienced is the bloated air in the gut and shoulder. I am on clear liquids for one week. I will use the unjury powder to get my proteins in. Week 2 will consist of full liquids, the mashables after that, then so on and so forth.- Time
It ting outside eating an orange Popsicle on the balcony of the hospital at4:50 in the morning. Think I'm going to sleep very, very well when I get home. Lol- Nerves
I am chomping at the bit to get moving. They must be pretty busy here. bout to stroll around my room. LOL thanks for all of the kind words and the encouragement. I am glad I found this site.- Nerves
Surgery is all done. In my room. Started the blue ice test. Feel fine except for trapped air in shoulder and abdomen. Ready to walk. Let's do this.- Nerves
