  1. Made the taco cupcakes for the first time tonight. So incredibly good!!! I had a hard time finding the chili oil too. Took some searching, but finally tracked it down amongst a bunch of other bottles of oil in Asian section. It was so worth the hunt.
  2. The only thing that is freaking me out about the post op diet is the idea of eating puréed meat of any sort. Am I alone in this? Are there enough other options during that stage so that I can avoid this?
  3. I have the same insurance too, and would love to know exactly what your doctor had to submit for you. Congrats on the quick approval! I so hope mine is quick once submitted.
  4. Amazing! Love hearing about people doing so well!!
  5. What a great list! I haven't been sleeved yet, but am working through the process and trying to lose the required weight before surgery. I work from home and have been sitting here wanting to eat ALL AFTERNOON. This post just got me over that because it reminded why I'm on this journey. Thank you justmenandmysleeve!!!
  6. Wow! You look amazing. What a transformation!
  7. What a happy thought! Fingers crossed my insurance approves and this is the last 4th of July for me at this weight too!
  8. Sounds really good. Love the idea of mixing hidden valley ranch seasoning into the yogurt.
  9. Great link. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Reporting in that I had a great day today. Stuck with my meal plan and had a really good workout at the gym. Thanks again to everyone who provided words of encouragement. It was just what I needed! I'm still getting used to talking about weight loss and being honest when I have a bad day. I usually just suffer in silence because I'm so mad at myself and embarassed. Just about all of my friends and family members are thin and it's impossible to talk to someone who thinks having 10 pounds to lose is a big deal. I have to say I'm actually looking forward to my psych consult. Pretty sure it is going to be more helpful than I think.
  11. Thanks everyone for the positive reinforcement! I'm back on the wagon today, upping my water intake (thanks for the suggestion PEvette!), and going to the gym to work off some of those carbs.
  12. I am feeling so guilty. I had a really stressful day and what did I do? Yep, you guessed it. I turned to food. Carbs specifically. I am just starting on this journey. I've had all of my initial appointments and just need to have my psych consult, attend a support group and keep a food journal and show a pattern of weight loss. I was off to such a great start and have lost 14 lbs. in the past few weeks eating low carb/high protein. Today I completely fell off the wagon and ate a bunch of crackers and 3 mini ice cream sandwiches. Ugh! So mad at myself. I decided to note it all in my food journal, so I'm sure I'll hear about it from the nutritionist next week at my check in. If I'm this weak, how am I ever going to be successful even with the sleeve???
  13. You look great! You've got a great sister to help you see how your hard work has paid off. Totally agree on the cute dress too.
  14. So happy the surgery went well for you! You have such a positive attitude. I'm sure you'll be extrordinarily successful!
