  1. I haven't been sleeved yet, but what you're describing sounds like similar experiences others have shared and they came through with a totally different attitude several months down the road Don't forget that your hormones are all out of whack right now too!! Which is probably why you feel like you're on an emotional roller coaster... Focus on the progress you've made in such a short time! (making a mental note to come back and read my own advice when I'm feeling the same way around this time next month!)
  2. Great job!!!!! You are rockin' those jeans!!!!
  3. How often are you weighing yourself? Maybe stick to weighing yourself once a week instead of every day (if that's the case)? 30 pounds in a month is FANTASTIC!!!
  4. And no one is saying anything negative about you or to you... we're sharing our opinions!
  5. I use unsweetened almond milk!
  6. Just think of it as one more "weight" to tip the insurance approval scale in your favor . And once you're approved, have surgery and lose the weight you probably won't need the machine anymore! It is somewhat of an annoyance and does take a bit of getting used to. I still can only wear mine 2-3 hours a night and usually wake up and pull it off my face at some point. If you don't have a headboard to drape the cpap tubing over, I recommend getting a stand that slips between the mattress to hold the tube over the bed. Then you don't get tangled up in it! You can buy on Amazon for less than 15! Good luck!!!
  7. Well, considering how little those hospital gowns cover, mooning isn't out of the question!
  8. My fav are strawberry mousse, cookies n cream and chocolate truffle. I did not care for any of the tropical-ish juice flavors they have. They did not blend well for some reason and I ended up with clumps and lumps when using the blender bottle.
  9. Did that tonight, myself!! It's really REAL now!
  10. I think the last time I wore pantyhose I was 3 years old... The way my mom tells the story she had dressed me up for Easter Sunday service and put pantyhose on me. She went to get herself ready for church and when it was time to leave I was standing IN the toilet, shoes and all, yelling about hating the "tights"!!! Never made me wear them again
  11. Hey good to hear from ya!!! How are you doing!?! Just picked up my tub o'chocolate Protein this afternoon after going to Bariatric U class. Starting to get a bit anxious now! liquid diet is next Thursday and surgery on Oct 25.
  12. Update... I went to Super Target over the weekend and stocked up on meats for my kiddo's meals while I'm on liquid diet (starts next week, wow!). OH, have any of you tried using the ziploc "perfect portion" bags?! They are FAB for buying bulk meat items and them portioning it out to keep in freezer. I've also ordered a toaster/convection oven from Walmart - woohoo! I'm going to enlist my daughter's help in planning her dinner menus for the next several weeks! I'll post back here when we come up with a plan
  13. I know it's normal to have a sore throat after having an EGD, but what about coughing up "junk"? Anyone come down with a cold or respiratory infection after having their EGD?
  14. I thought lifetime limits were off the table as part of health care reform!? http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2012pres/03/20120305a.html http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/03/04/new-data-affordable-care-act-your-state Regardless, and to what Lisa said, please don't give up! Where there's a will, there's a way!
  15. Mine is with Dr.Kim on Oct. 25th at Baylor Trophy Club! Start my liquid diet on Oct 18. I am one of the lucky ones who only has to do 1 week liquid diet. I am NOT complaining about that
  16. "Pants on the ground, pants on the ground!!" WoOhooo!!!
  17. They told me it could take a month too and I was approved in less than 24 hours!! Just asked the insurance coordinator nicely to check on status the day after she submitted and voila!!! P.s. You are welcome to rub my fat belly for good luck! LOL!!!!
  18. Can't answer your question, unfortunately, but have you tried posting your problem in the help forum? http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/forum/69-vertical-sleeve-talk-forum-assistance-suggestions/ I had some issues a few months back and got prompt assistance after posting there!
